If you are sticking to the trails and avoiding mud pits the YXZ is an awesome machine. If you are an adventurous type that likes to find out whether you can make it, the YXZ is not a great option. The throttle is sensitive and this leads to a whiplash type of experience when on and off the pedal. If it were me I would rather use a belt driven machine and bring some extra belts. That being said, moving the radiator to the back of the machine basically removes the overheating issue that the original YXZ machines had, which is a great improvement.
There is a company that makes a trans mission for rock crawling you flip a switch and now all your gear are reduced 3to1 even reverse then with a flip of a switch you have your stock high speed range back they call it a rock box or a crawl box
