my brother has almost the same truck, so watching this was quite easy because I can also learn from him also it was just watching this made me feel more confident. my brother was trying to get a clutch gear (or something like that) but he wrecked it- so I cannot learn but I feel more confident with this

I feel the guy that's learning how to drive manual it's real tough trying to go up the hill and trying to go into reverse with me because I'm learning

I learned to drive a standard with my dad's stupid mid to late 70's chevy pickup with the 3 speed on the column, it was terribly hard taking off on because it was so high geared. I've been driving a standard for probably 8 years now, my Mazda B2200 is my daily driver and then I have a '81 chevy C30 to pull my 24' gooseneck trailer.

I learned how to drive a manual 5 years ago working as a valet driver, I actually used to practice in guests cars when working over. Three months ago I bought my first manual Mazda 3 5 speed , I wouldn’t ever go back to automatic again.

Thanks I just bought an old 01 F150 to learn on.

Learning to drive maual tranmission is better than learning automatic, because if you know how to drive manual you can easily adopt in automatic but if you only learn to drive automatic will take days or months to master lt without stalling the car

Learning to downshift is a must. You're technically not in control of the vehicle when you're coasting in neutral

I’m getting a manual truck like this tomorrow and it makes me nervous thinking about being parked on a hill in traffic. It happens here a lot. I feel like I’m going to back into the car behind me.

Foot on clutch wears clutch prematurly,Hand on shifter waers rhtow out bearing real fast.Hope this helps you,

you gotta really know where your catch point is on hills u hold your break untill u hit the catch point and let go off break at this point your clutch will kinda act like a break right before take of not letting u roll backwards then tap your gas pedal if u do it that way you wont roll backwards u can use your ebrake instead of break so u dont have to do so much with your feet when learning if it helps

I thought if be able to learn within an hour. 7 months later, I still can't figure it out. No matter what, it jerks n stalls every time. Do I press the gas exact same time I'm releasing the clutch? Or do I release the clutch slowly and when the car starts moving then press gas?

Going tomorrow to trade my v8 automatic for a Nissan hardbody truck. I’m nervous and excited to learn stick. Sadly no power steering lol
