Forgot to mention - some Apple products are typically re-released a year later, and if you're using an iPod touch 5th gen that was manufactured after around 9/2013, it may not work since the device never shipped with iOS 6 in the first place. You can usually find the date from when your Apple products was manufactured on many different websites. As long as it shipped with iOS 6 or previously ran iOS 6 in the past, then you should be good!
Worked on my iPod 5 ! The vast majority of apps won't be able to be installed, because they require new versions of IOS, but there are still plenty of games compatible with IOS 6. It's just an echo from the early 2010's, and nostalgia kicks really hard when you go back to this version. It was so clean, beautiful, and loaded with small details, not like the flat and boring design we're getting nowadays...

Есть но только привязанный, а Дуалбут удобнее тем что это что то на подобии полноценного отката, после перезагрузки не надо подключать айфон к пк и делать манипуляции. Плюс в любой момент можно переключиться на другую систему. Я думаю что врятли рано или поздно найдут способ для полного отката не привязанного

It is still possible to ota downgrade, however i have not found a way to do it since the setup crashes mid-way if you try the same methof as the ios 8 downgrade. I also have to try to downgrade a 5S to ios 10, since its also ota downgradable.
@@GodzillaKaijuGK Use Leetdown ! It's almost as easy as restoring via iTunes. I downgraded an iPhone 5 to iOS 8 and a 5S to iOS 10 with it, no problem. Just make sure to have an mfi wire, to disable Touch ID + passcode and to disconnect from iCloud otherwise it might not work (I had trouble in the beginning when one of the conditions wasn't respected but I don't know wich one was causing it)
If you want to get a untethered way to downgrade you can trying downloading the ota ipsw ios 6.1.3 and have a saved shsh blob for your devices then trying downgrading it using 3utools
worked on 3/3 2023 on the iphone 4S. So you will need to know the following thing. the ios 8.4.1 is not stuck, you just need to wait 1 hour for the download to start. Second follw the EXACT steps the video offers. I did that and I've succeded
Thanks for the quick and easy tutorial on how to brick your iPod touch! I used a 5th gen manufactured in December 2012, used the older version of CoolBooter and yet it still got bricked! I repeated the process and now I'm stuck with an iPod on iOS 9.3.5 which thinks is iOS 6.1.3 which won't "update" to iOS 8.4.1! iTunes doesn't recognize it either, so I can't restore it! Once again, thanks for the tutorial on how to brick your iPod
Have you tried a DFU restore? That might work. I suggest you use another computer with iTunes and see if that works. If an iPod bricks, restoring it back to iOS 9.3.5 should work without any issues.

@@iClassic Thank you so much! I tried to do this for 2 weeks and it didn’t work! Edit a few hours later: I got iOS 6 onto my iPod, and it was from 2014! Just so you know sometimes the boot for iOS 6 doesnt work so thats why i dont do untethered.
PEOPLE this works but it will take FOREVER to download the update be patient! it took 1 WHOLE HOUR for me but it worked! Forgot to mention its: its july 20 2023!

Quick tip for downgrading to iOS 8, I don't recommend the plist trick because it can cause issues (mostly with phones). Use a tool such as an ota downgrader if you can.
I tried these steps on my iOS 8.4.1 iPhone 4S but It bricked so I had to restore it to iOS 9.3.6 but luckily I was able to redowngrade to iOS 8.4.1 so I’m now just using cool booter teathered and booting iOS 7.0

This gonna be weird but I was trying to downgrade from iOS 10 to 7 on my 4th gen iPad with coolbooter but that didn’t work and doing this worked and I just left the iPad on iOS 8.

How much space should I give my iOS 6 partition on a device with only about 11GB of free space remaining? (its a 16GB model but for some reason shows the maximum capacity as 13GB)
Has someone tried this out on an iPhone 5? I’m not sure if it’s going to be the same procedure because there you’re starting on iOS 10, probably with a different jailbreak an stuff. If it works on it I might go out and buy myself an iPhone 5 used…
I've done it before, it's more than doable. You change the version number, downgrade to 8.4.1 and then mess with CoolBooter to get a partition with 6.1.3 going. The only difference is you need a different app to jailbreak with for 10.X, something like H3lix.
so im doing this with my other iPhone 4S, and the software update for ios8 isnt showing up. ive set the OS version in filza to the correct numbers. it might be because my other 4s ran ios9.3.6 and the other, 9.3.5
Hello, is it possible to sideload newer iOS? I have installed Untethered jailbroaken iOS 8 and I want to side-load iOS 10 without losing older version. I tried the Coolbooter, but when a I press the boot button and lock my iphone it seems like nothing is happening...
