+Leopold Slikk tell me about I'm using an iPhone 4, and on iOS 7, and I wish I could downgrade to make a tad faster but I'll probably lose more apps. I've lost two so far on iOS 7. Apple Store App kicked me out. I have to have "iOS 8."
@@DohiMissed344 did you have games that aren’t supported on newer devices? If so, you can install them through purchases with the cloud. You can also get older versions of apps that existed back then too by going to purchases on the app store and clicking the cloud (without opening it). There should be a popup where you can cancel the download or download an older version.
Are you high? iOS7 was the first step to ugly color fade hell and slowly creeping performance death. It was not a compromise, it was the first offender. I'm so glad it was never released for my iPod 4 so I was never baited to install it. People with iPhone 4s got fucked over and left with no option to go back to iOS 6, aside from jailbreak.

+Unicornstalk iPhone softwares need to be signed by Apple and they only "sign" the latest. There is an exploit that lets you downgrade the iPhone 4s but it's only to iOS 6.1.3 and you must be jailbroken.
This actually surprises me and at the same times kind of makes sense. It would get slower since the more updates it gets the more features it tries to implement, but at the same time since technology keeps improving at such a fast rate, Apple should be able to implement these features without necessarily slowing the devices down. Really interesting video man, I enjoyed it a lot.
Nice video! Though, I'm missing a discussion in the end. You should talk about why some softwares are faster than others. In my opinion that would be the more interesting part in this video.
+Hyfoxdro Only with a weather tweak installed did it actually, for the stock iOS 5/6, it may look like it did but it really didn't, it was just text that was put into the logo/icon itself, it never actually changed unless you had a tweak from cydia to do so or something...
I get that software tends to get heavier over time as more features are added, and newer devices get more powerful. But Apple really needs to offer users of older iOS devices the ability to downgrade to an earlier version such as iOS 6, like older Mac users are able to downgrade back to Snow Leopard. Simplicity and speed are arguably what makes the iPhone great.
Lmao almost all apps on AppStore require new firmwares to work it's too late I will give Apple the benefit of the doubt and say they didn't know these devices would age that bad given the specs of the 6s and iOS's progression as an os on a yearly basis I'd say you could use the 6s for 5-6yrs plus maybe
I wish apple would go back to ios 6 it was the best and in my opinion looks a hell of a lot nicer and it was the last ios that was inspired by steve jobs
I miss Steve Jobs and Scott Forstall, the guy behind ios 6. Everything started sucking when he was fired and the ios user design and interface was given to jony ive. Bad move.
Joe Kim i agree with your point. Apple Maps dent even work where I live. But that was just one mistake compared to the crap they have made now. Now the whole OS sucks.
The difference is that also the camera of Galaxy S2 sucks, but we are not talking about that, we are talking about software. Because iPhone 4s is way better than Galaxy S2. So don't tell lies only because you are an Android Fan Boy, and I'm not saying it as an Apple Fan Boy. I'm simply honest.

I know it's probably too late, but you can get iOS 6 back, 6.1.3. You just jb your phone and then you an downgrade because apple made mistake in ota updates ( there are RU-vid tutorials hot to do it)
you can just jailbreak your current iOS, download cool booter, and select between iOS 5,6,7,8,9 to use... also, you can dual boot like iOS 6 and 9, like I am doing
Thanks for making the vid very informative I don't necessarily think they are making it slower on purpose but you have to think as new updates are released more resources are being used which is why they update their hardware every year. If they all loaded the same there would be no point in updating hardware. Just a thought could be totally off lol thanks again keep up the great content
I think iOS 7 is the best firmware you can actually have on a 4S! It runs pretty smooth, got most of the new features and it still have that "modern" look
Memories... My first experience with IOS 5 was writing an app for that at work. While doing that, I had no idea what an iphone actually is (back then, my cell phone was from the 90's and I wasn't interested at all in the cell phones my friends had). Once that app was available in the app store a month later, I still had no idea, what an iphone is (the boss tested the app without my knowledge on his iphone before submitting).... But I made an app for that.... xD but in the very end of the story, the boss gave me an iphone 4. The first I thought: "wow, this is big, chunky and heavy". Running that app on it was my very first experience in using a touch screen. It felt totally stange to me. :D.
It’s good that Apple is not killing older iPhones like in the past, iPhone 4 and 4s started to get slow after the iOS 7 redesign and annoyingly buggy in their latest software update. Now for example 6S is still running like a champ in its latest software
+Meeping Gaming Well, the 4S is almost 5 years old. Lithium ion batteries tend to only last about 5 years. So if you want better battery life without buying a new phone, just take apart your phone and put a new battery.
Thanks for your videos, keep up the good work! Clearly, the overall performance of iOS has decreased over time. On iOS 5, 6 & 7, applications used to load instantly, animations were smooth, touch-screen's responsiveness was top notch. Do something Apple!
ikr why would apple switch from such a beautiful textured look with reflections and when you turned the phone some parts would actually follow the light to a boring dull and lifeless look with no textures
UPGRADING IS THE WORST THING THAT CAN HAPPEN TO YOUR IPHONE, THAT'S WHY I HAVENT UPGRADED MINE, ITS A 4S, BY THE WAY. THIS IS A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN IPHONE AND AN ANDROID PHONE. WHEN YOU UPGRADE AN ANDROID, IT RUNS EVEN FASTER.
