Q: What kind of Dye? Where do I get it?

Q: How long do I leave it in the dye?
A: Until you're happy with the color. For dark colors, reheat, and dye again.
Q: How hot do I make the water?
A: Bring it to a boil, add dye and stir. Turn off the heat, let it cool for a couple minutes, put the head in, and watch the magic happen..

ok this dad is awsome...he played lax in college and supports his kids...my dad played frigging baseball and im playing high school lacrosse but i cant talk about it in my house because he gets mad about me quitting baseball. ik this has nothing to do with dyeing sticks but yeah...this dude rocks

I'm just doing mine right now! It was a yellow base coat, put in some royal blue not thinking it would turn green for some reason but its looking great! Thanks! Can't wait to peel off that glue

Thanks for the great video! I did it to my son's head. The glue was a PITA to get off. I had to keep puting it back in the freezer and when my fingernails hurt too bad, I used needle nose pliers for a while.

Question: I'm wanting to use this method on a green STX Hammer. But I'm doing the colorway in grey and blue. Will either of those dye on the green? In general how do colors dye over darker colored heads i.e anything not white? Looking forward to your answer. Thanks!

Looks sweet, i'd also like to go black with neon green effects, will it work if I first dye it neon green and then go black over it with decals or some other type of spray/hot glue etc over it? will the black look okay and will the dye peel of if I take the glue or spray of? Thanks!

Hi I was wondering if there is a way to whiten your head. I have a dark maroon like head with white words, and I didn't think I'd be able to die it to a neon green without it being white. So if I can dye it white or bleach rather than just going for neon green.which would be a better outcome?

How long can I leave the head in the dye for after its done boiling? Does it still work after it cools down a bit? Also I'm having trouble with the black dye on a white head any tips thanks

followed your video for the fade and my first stick came out beautiful. tried to dye my second stick today but the store had no rit dye so the top color ended up not sticking because it had to be dyed for 45 minutes . i got it back to the under color and im going to try again with the rit but my problem is the last time the hot glue melted off. any advice

Hey how long exactly does it take to dye the head including gluing the head and taking it off. Also, once I am done with the head, if i flex it, will that chip or mess up the head/dye? Thanks!

When you dye heads, you should buy a 2 gallon trash can (I got one at the dollar store) and put the boiling water in the trash can, and I found you don't have to use the entire bottle of rit dye, a bottle is 8 ounces so you only have to pour in half of the bottle, which is 4 ounces. You will save a lot of money and be able to get more uses out of one bottle

I'm going to dye my head too, I just had a odd question. My new head is a warrior swarm x I'm not sure how flexible it is, will the hot water/freezer weaken the plastic? Also how deep does the dye go?

I dyed a Reebok 3k I bought for 10 bucks golden yellow, then I put hot glue on, then I dyed it dark green. It turned out amazing, but it was so hard to get the glue off. Anyway, it was cool.

I would probably pinch first. Either way though, the re-boil could mess things up. Re-boiling a pinched head to dye could change the pinch you gave it, or, re-boiling a dyed head to pinch it could change the dye. I've never done it, but I would rather re-pinch than re-dye, so I would pinch first.

If you're using hot glue, make it hot, but not more that about 170 degrees, otherwise the glue will melt off. I buy my dye at a craft store, but you can get it online...search for RIT Dye. Use enough water to cover whatever you're dyeing, and use one package of dye. If you have some airtight containers, you can save the dye.

If I got like a plain gray shaft, is there a way to just dye the shaft? Like what would I use so it doesn't get sticky, I want it to be a nice polished finish.

I have an AV8 im just using as a project and had a question...my av8 is white, so could i like, dye it one color, then dye it AGAIN (using the hot glue method) and get a similar result?

When i die my heads with hot glue, a tip to get the glue off easy without ruining your fingers is freeze it, then use needle nose pliers to pull the glue off.
