The thing about henna is you must do everything EXACTLY as instructed. No cutting corners. Although I have a dark beard I wanted my grays highlighted. The few times I tried other products and got mixed results. But I’ve used the henna light brown and auburn and it worked!! Took a little trail and error. Today I’m just going jet black. It’s a long process but I’ve learned from mistakes and will follow the instructions to the letter lol also for Gray coverage add a little apple cider vinegar.
Great video guys,! Three questions, Just to clarify when doing both steps I should only rinse out my hair? I should wash it at all for 24 hours? And my next question was I was told the indigo penetrates more the deeper the henna is and to leave the henna in overnight before doing indigo for even better results. Is this true? Lastly does black coffee work better then distilled water? Can you use both? Thanks! I always went with one company for henna so excited to try something new!
Hello! So, in both steps when rinsing your hair, you will rinse until the water turns clear and then you can use some condition. We recommend waiting 48 hours before using shampoo. For the jet black, you can leave the henna on for longer but usually we have users leave the indigo (2nd step) for a longer period of time. The longer the indigo is on the darker it will get. But you can leave both on for as long as you wish. Using brewed coffee or tea helps to deepen the color. I recommend only using the brewed coffee for the liquid base. Once you have let it rest and it seems a little too dried up you can add some water to loosen it up.
I used this last week to cover grey hair and the grey is now orange. I used coffee in the mix and let the mix sit for 30 minutes. Once I put it kn my hair I let it sit for 3 1/2 hours and my hair is still orange. Help please because I followed the instructions that came with the kit.
Since greys are so stubborn, it might take a few applications to before your hair takes to the indigo. Try adding 2-3 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to the henna mixture or 1 teaspoon of salt to the indigo mixture. The longer you leave the indigo on the darker the color will get.
This stuff done me horrible. I followed directions exactly except I left the indigo on a full hour and a half longer a full 4 and half hours and all I got after washing it out us orange fucking hair. I tried the indigo again and just as the first time I got nothing my hair is still like it was after using the henna. Don't be fooled and don't buy this product.

You have to use indigo IMMEDIATELY after mixing. It starts oxidizing immediately and LOSES coloring strength the longer it sits....why would you tell people to let it sit for 45 minutes BEFORE using?
Yes you would do it the same way. Although you can leave on your face for 2 hours each application but as always the longer you leave it on the better.

The indigo powder dye contains a blush pigment that comes from leaves of plants known as Indigofera Tinctoria. The powder itself does not contain henna but it is meant to combine with henna on hair, it can produce light brown, medium brown, dark brown, and jet-black hair colors. Our hair dye kits provide everything you need for the process. Our light brown, Mahogany, Jet black, Burgundy, Auburn, medium brown, and dark brown colors contain indigo.
3 hours is the standard time, but you can leave it in longer if you wish. Just keep it covered, so the indigo paste is moist. You can leave it in overnight as well. Important tip: indigo will take 24-28 hours to fully develop.
my hair goes down to my collarbone how much henna should I use? what would happen if I used all the henna? also can I add some drops of rosemary oil in it?
For that length of hair, we recommend using 1/3 - 1/2 of the package. If you use the whole package you will have left over of the mixture which won't be able to be stored since the powder has already been mixed. You absolutely can add rosemary oil to the mixture. Rosemary is great for your hair.
For leaving out the pure henna mixture should be 8-10 hours little over is fine. However, indigo powder should not be left out more then 25 mins for sure as it will not give you the best color. Now leaving the dye on your hair has no limit but should be min of 3 hours :)
That depends on what color you are trying to achieve. If you are trying to use Jet Black, they will turn orange after the initial henna application. However, once you follow up with the indigo application, the hair will darken significantly. -Hilary
