@@PreppyvibesAdeline no you don’t need the magic ns adapters. If you have the parts from the last video; you just swap buttons out and replace with button kit from amazon.

Use a power strip or surge protector. Power down from the main menu then flip the switch on your surge protector.

From what another person has said, the company making the dongles has updated the firmware. Some dongles use the new firmware and some use the old firmware. If one dongle isn’t working, I think it may be because that dongle uses the new firmware. The person in the comments said they were able to downgrade the firmware to the old version and then it worked. I’m not sure how they did this though. I think the dongle light needs to be blue to work. I don’t mod my arcades this way anymore and actually found a better way. I can link a video on how to upgrade your switch fighting stick for $40 and not have to use the dongles.

It’s very easy to do and takes maybe an hour or so to do. You can still use the Nintendo switch fighting stick but this way will upgrade your joysticks and buttons and make it so you have less lag and won’t need dongles. Also the buttons and joysticks are better quality and light up.

Buy a button kit instead of the fighting stick. I have a video on how to do it. I actually ended up upgrading the buttons and joysticks on the switch fighting stick to the button kit.

Due to Pac-Man being a Vertical Screen, the picture will be sideways, and the control deck only fits Gen 1 and 2 cabs. I have the 40th Anniversary model which is the same shape as the Legacy Cabinet, that one didn't work at all.

@@gamerzlane936 Yeah, Gen1 or 2 have a bulkier design, depends when you bought it. Is it the one with Mortal Kombat 1 art, or 2, or 3 Ultimate?

You don't need to buy the switch controller for this to work. Just get new joysticks and USB encoders and wire it in.

After this video was made, the firmware has changed on the Magic adapters. Depending on when you bought them, the updated firmware doesn’t recognize the controls. Some people have had no problems while others bought a set of the adapters that don’t work. What you can do is return the adapters and follow the steps in this video below to upgrade your switch fighting stick deck. Order a $40 button kit and replace all the controls with the button kit. The button kit controls are recognized by the arcade box and have no lag and are better quality anyways. Plus they light up. I’ve modified about 20 arcades now and this is the best route.

Yes although you can plug in a controller that the arcade box comes with for games that don’t play well with the arcade buttons.

@@Oracle_insight Ive used emulec before and as you know it detects whats plugged in and remaps your save for that specific controller(arcade buttons/ controllers) and will switch it but youll need access to the box constantly

I had that problem on my second build with the switch fighting stick. Took me an hour and at some point it worked. Hit the Bluetooth button over and over, swapped player 1 with player 2. Tried with both plugged in and then with only 1 plugged in. And at some point it worked. I don’t know how. I went a different route with my newest build and bought a button kit and swapped the buttons out of the switch fighting stick. By doing this you don’t need the magic Mayflash adapters and it has less delays in the buttons and it fixes the down left joystick issue.

Hey man, I see no one replied, go ahead and follow the link in the description and it will take you to a page where you can get everything off Amazon. However, when you go to buy the arcade box, it will say it’s $90 on Amazon. Most people are getting them off AliExpress for around $47 but it will take about a month to get to you. So it’s up to you if you want to save $33 and wait a month for it to arrive.

So do you mean you do the retropie and buy the buttons and stick? Just bought a street fighter 2 machine today for 100 bucks from a lady and wanting more games. Researching best way to do this.

I think you would have to go a different route because this won’t fit a 4 player cab. The deck is meant for 1st and 2nd Gen 2 player models

Not sure, I know some of the magic sticks have updated firmware and no longer work. It’s possible they sent you one magic adapter with the updated firmware.

It should work. You still would need the magic adapters to read the Nintendo switch fighting stick. The magic control sticks allow your switch fighting stick to be recognized my most other consoles instead of just the switch. I’m about to upgrade my system to a mini pc that runs batocera. All I’m going to do is unplug the arcade box and plug in the mini pc game emulator. I will also plug in the magic control sticks into the mini pc so it recognizes the Nintendo switch fighting stick controller on my arcade.
