The All-Devouring Narwhal Monoceros Caeli is a weekly boss introduced in Genshin Impact's 4.2 update as part of its Fontaine expansion. The boss is made available after completing the main storyline of Fontaine.
All-Devouring Narwhal Monoceros Caeli is a rather easy fight all things considered. Much of the fight is spent dodging attacks and waiting for the second phase of the fight versus the humanoid figure inside of it. The fight with said figure boils down to two things: dodging and breaking balls. If you break the ball from the figure 4 times initially, it will send you outside to get a very large DPS phase on the All-Devouring Narwhal Monoceros Caeli.

Once this builds to its limit, the creature will devour the character, causing them to enter the belly of the beast. Defeating the dark shadow within the belly will deal significant DMG to the Narwhal and cause it to fall into a weakened state. Pneuma or Ousia attacks can quickly destroy the whirlpool, and can also interrupt the shadow's attacks. When the health of the All-Devouring Narwhal is relatively low, it will no longer devour characters. Trounce Domains contain unusually powerful opponents. After successfully completing the challenge, you can obtain abundant rewards.
Players can complete this domain as many times as they want, but can only collect rewards once per week by using 30 Original Resin to open the Ley Line Blossom for the first three Weekly Bosses, and 60 Original Resin subsequently. Rewards are refreshed with Weekly World Reset.

This is the only fight I have seen in all of Fontaine where Arhke actually matters. Everything else with arkhe mechanics can just be killed without arkhe if you hit it hard enough.

Yeah I thought it should have some mechanic to defeat "the man" faster. And here it is - bring the arkhe unit and just hit at the right time. I was going crazy about this mofo since it takes so long to take him down, and him teleporting all over the place makes it really tedious to even approach and land a hit. Thank you for sharing!

the first phase when we use bow user is also important dps time because we want the battle shorter, it is so slow and easy to target on 1st phase. because when it swallow us, it took time to get out.

Finally a boss I can do easily on mobile with my low gear units (started playing 3 months ago), might be one of the easiest bosses along with Stormterror. Have yet to beat some bosses solo like Raiden Shogun, her moves ask for way too fast reaction time imo

Great video 👍 ok I will try this 😊 Honnestly I was killing him in one round using ones of my best team: a stimulation one Nahida C4, Keqing C4 with the Jade Cutter, Zonghli C2 and Fischl C6 😅 I will try a team with Navia or Furina or other Fontaine ´s char for that pneuma/ousia attack 🤗 PS: by the way, if you have the Narcissenkreuz Blade you can equip a non Fontaine char and get a capacity of Arkhe 😊 I will try this as well 🤗

Wriothesley technically can, it's just that his Pneuma is attached to this Ultimate rather than his skill or charged attack (which, yeah, functionally speaking makes it so that he basically can't)

How come when you hit the purple guy once when he is in a ball form, it beaks 1/5th of his shield. But when i try using my characters including hydro ones, it barely does any damage to the shield. I am curious what even is the Pneuma and Ousia power, as i have no idea how to even get those powers. I have not yet unlocked the domain yet so i just use “quick start” in the handbook. Do you have any idea how i can break the purple guys’s shield how it was intended to be? I dont know how to break the ball at all…. Thank you!

The Pneuma and Ousia are energy linked to Fontaine characters. Hydro Traveler counts because his powers come from the Fontaine archon statue. If you already reach ar 25, you should be able to get Lynette. She also has Pneuma, so she should be able to help you break the orb

You need a Fontaine unit like Hydro Traveler or Lynette. Fontaine units all have an Arkhe attached to either their Normal Attack, Skill, or Ultimate abilities.

Pneuma and ousia are the Fontaine exclusive mechanics that basically just make certain bosses easier. Hydro traveler's skill deals pneuma, which is that blast of white/yellow light after the hydro shot.

4 minutes in before the Narwhal becomes stunned for the first time is pretty much my problem with this boss fight. Bringing a really strong team comp helps reduce the wasted time you spend on this domain, but it's not significant enough. Glad I only have to do this once a week.

Pneuma Ousia is a Fontaine unit only mechanic. That is the reason why we bring hydro traveler, as they have Pneuma on their skill. The man phase requires Pneuma or Ousia to instantly break the orb

It must be Fontaine units only, as they are the only units in the game currently with the "Arkhe" (Pneuma/Ousia) mechanic. Hydro Traveler counts as a Fontaine unit as they were released alongside Fontaine and as such have the Arkhe mechanic. No other Traveler element types have it as of the writing of this reply. As such, it is not tied to Hydro, but being from Fontaine. Units like Lynette, Freminet, etc are all from Fontaine and have an Arkhe alignment.

You need a Fontaine unit because of the pneuma Ousia mechanic. Hydro Traveler specifically qualifies as a Fontaine unit and has Pneuma on their skill

Sword of Narzissenkreuz from the Fontaine world chain quest. It is a very long (and imo, not particularly well written) chain of world quests that at the end when you return to the fountain in Annapausis will reward you with the Sword of Narzissenkreuz. It only deals a total of about 5-8% less DPS compared to Festering Desire when you are using an identical setup to my Traveler. In future videos, you will notice that I have swapped to Sword of Narzissenkreuz due to its guaranteed availability as part of a permanent world quest chain rather than an event.

Hydro traveler specifically because they have Pneuma Arkhe. Only units from Fontaine have the Arkhe mechanic (Hydro Traveler is considered to be from Fontaine). There are only 2 units that are free and guaranteed to have the Arkhe mechanic available for f2p players: Hydro Traveler with Pneuma, and Lynette with Ousia. All of the other Fontaine units have the mechanic but need to be pulled for in the gacha.
