Thanks for sharing, this is indeed easier than almost any other way. Including the rebar bende/cutter as you can increase leverage by just using a longer pipe.
Hi any vice will do, just make sure it is securely fastened to the workbench as it’s a lot of force at the vice/bench even though it’s pretty easy to bend with the leverage. Thanks.
Bending (as in this vid) #3 is easy. #4, not so easy. #5, nope. More importantly, rebar is notorious for hard and soft spots. There is no standard except for the total tensile strength in a 21' length. If you bend on a unseen hard spot, 90 degree or more will snap: risking very serious injury. NOTICE lack of safety glasses and very light-weight construction of work bench considering the 6" Wilton-type vise.
Been bending it this way for a number of years and never had one snap, not that it couldn’t tho, so yes it’s a good idea to wear safety glasses. Work bench is half inch plywood with 2x4 frame, reinforced every 10 in with cross beams on both top and bottom shelves, I put it on casters because it’s too heavy to move otherwise alone; even more so with bottom shelf of tools, pretty heavy duty but yes not steel bench.
@@HammerIIHammer My first attempt and it snapped. Was loud as hell and luckily I was smart enough not to pull it at my head. Gonna be feeling it for a few days on my shoulder but could've been way worse.
