He put gold pellets probably pure gold in ceramic disc then added borax powder available through the internet. If you can't get it in your local store look for cleaning products for clothes. And then heat this up all together for 4 or 5 minutes then dropped it in the water. I would have heated up the bowl first then part cook the gold then add the Borax powder if you had different karat weight's of gold then you would put the Borax in first then added a little more to separate the gold from impurities the other metals they put in 8 carat, 9 carat, 10 carat, 14 carat, 15 carat, 18 carat, 19 carat, 20 carat, 21 carat and 22 carat the higher the carat numbers the less impurities in the gold and some are defunct carat weights but in the gold business you can come across a 17 or a 16 or a 21 carat gold pieces it all depends how far back go in its history between the 12th and late 19th centuries in Britain until it became standardized. You don't need sign language you just have to use your eyes, but if you don't know these things, get a book. One last thing. I was taught, never use glass bowls or jars. Use a flower pot saucer or another ceramic bowl or steel bucket with no holes and use ionised water in it why there must be a reason and to the life of me I cannot remember if unconsolable about this get a book off the internet or library and it won't cost you hardly anything. New piece added on the 16 02 2020 last thing is when you use your little ceramic bowl to burn gold and silver in always as a rule heat up the bowl first drop Borax around the edges and burn onto the surface repeat this and go round the bowl and your notice as you burn it makes a little red burn marks and runs down by doing this every time. You stop the gold especially silver from sticking to the bottom and having to smash your ceramic bowl. I know you can buy a box of six or a box of eight or a box of 10 that cost between $5 and $8 and $12 but after a while of smashing them you should appreciate, but the little beads of gold don't cover the cost of the $8 or the 12 dollars it costed to replace them. And with this flu virus being international now, and the Chinese government stopping workers from returning to various Industries and providing us with internet services to buy these dishes to do our burns in. Let's hope this disease or virus is destroyed soon and we can get back to what I think is a great hobby. So far on the news all that worried about in the West is are make money if they are sweatshops are not providing them with cheap goods of twenty-five cents up to $3 so they could charge us us $10 up to $50 for the very same items. Business is fickle and has a long way to go before they become sympathetic to the plight of others. Extra 50 or 100 words was added on the 16th of February zero 7 hours and 54 minutes a.m.
Plz Mr expert-who-knows-exactly-how-to-do-better, Why don’t you produce a film and show us your expert skills. You don’t even talk the talk, so I really doubt You can walk the walk 😂. I think this film was great.
You get a thick metal base and a little bowl a yellow torch .white powder and water.set base on ground ,set bowl on top, pour your scrap in bowl .burn slow and increase until you get a bb pour it in water and that's it.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😁😁
A how-to video should have some kind of narrative. This is just a let-me-show-you-how-i-melt gold video. So many people do this and it is really annoying.
Is this not just melting gold? Smelting implies your removing the impurities from karat gold (silver, copper and other trace elements) to end up with relatively pure gold.
About for how long does it stay in liquid form? I have an idea for a project but depending on how long it stays in its liquid form will determine if it will work or not. Thanks for the video!
I saw you let the gold to cool down a little and then you grab it with some pliers before putting it on water. After I have melt the gold if I let it cool in the crucible it gets stuck in the glass like surface of the borax and it's impossible to get it out. Why could this be happening? Even if I try to grab it instantly after stopping the torch it gets stuck. I hope you can point me in the right direction. Thanks
