I'm gonna pin this from Lord Phoenix a subscriber who also had some crazy issue that wasnt readily viable but here's what he said he did, hopefully others will see his comment and try the steps as a further help. "Hi jerry thanks for the advice and help. I tried reloading the software again from nokta with the settings you said to turn off and the new down load was fully installed this time and worked like a charm. When I was troubleshooting everything I could find one of my messages was a driver was not fully installed. So I turned of the apps you suggested and downloaded a fresh new update version from the website and this time it fully installed without interuption. My machine is now updated. Thanks. If anyone else has this problem you can suggest this approach. It was frustrating that the update program appeared to be fully installed and working when it actually wasn't because the drivers were interrupted by the antivirus during their install. Thanks again for the video and help."...
Thanks, from what I recall Dilek saying “turn off ant-virus temporarily to download the software. This isn’t new. Most companies tell you “it may interfere, so this time I listened. Mine downloaded ok but I had a heck of a time getting through the download. With several attempts with step by step on the tutorial, it finally worked “somehow”, lol
@@jerrytalley802 you wouldn't think it would cause an issue but darn quite a bit are struggling with it. I put in a feature Request for future detectors maybe possibly the legend but don't think it has the ability. But anyways Nokta Makro was asking for feature build requests and I suggested to Build WiFi into the metal detector so that it exclusively connects to their ftp server download site and it automatically downloads and updates the detector through Wifi, in addition to add a rollback backup feature in case the wifi install fails and screws up the machine ( this could only be done by the users) so this would eliminate quite a bit of headache for users. Anyways ,if it's done you know who suggested it😁
Without this tutorial I would never have figured this how to update. I almost didn’t with help. It seems very cumbersome. Deus is super easy to update to me

Jerry Thanks a ton for this video brother.... uuggggh! if it wasn't for this Video I would have been screwed... I had to disable my anti virus and shut off all the app controls... It still wasn't loading then I restarted and un plugged the Legend and reconnected.. hit update and "SUCCESS" . This Video was the Bomb... Thank you a MILLION brother --- Joey
nice joey! yeh its a crazy process, some are having problems. older ones epecially because of the tech challenge. I suggested NM for future machines to have a built in WiFi in the machine that will connect to a dedicated FTP server of theirs and does the download/update without any software intervention. that would eliminate the comm problems. But im just not sure if others will have issues following those steps,lol... ENjoy!

Your welcome Team Lynch! That's the only reason I put it up, many were struggling with it. I had suggested to NOKTA MAKRO to have a wifi connection built into their future machines so that all updates go to a dedicated download server and go to directly to the detector via the WiFi, no computers to deal with hope it happens
Ill try it again tonight, ill make sure to let you know if i have luck, it did look slighly different with the nokta setup/installer folders under the bin folder, error valid port was not foud is what it keeps saying but this the second computer i tried it on, again thanks for helping people ttyl
This easy tutorial will take you from Version 1.04,1.05,1.06 to Version 1.07. This process will also apply to any future Legend Updates provided to Nokta Makro Tool remains the same. Some people are still having issues updating their Nokta Makro Legend Detectors, Why? Every computer is different, just like every soil condition is different, but here are some basic and good tips to consider when updating your Legend machine. Enjoy and have fun with this fantastic detector and go bananas in the field with it! *IMPORTANT TECH NOTE* This demo was done with windows 11, the same principle will apply to windows 10 and the now defunct windows 7. If you have the NoktaMakroUpdate tool already installed, I strongly recommend to not install it again. Unless, Nokta Makro says otherwise. For some reason I reinstalled the tool that was in 1.06 and it just would not update to 1.06 at the time i discovered the bug, so I uninstalled it and used the tool that was packaged with version 1.05 and all was good to make the jump to Version 1.07 Get Software Update direct from Nokta Detectors Here: www.noktadetectors.com/metal-... Do not go to other websites that claim to have the firmware update, Nokta Makro will not honor the warranty from other vendors claiming to have the update. 1. If you do not have the Update Too, INSTALL THE NoktaDetectorUpdateSetup File First to install the Nokta Detector Update Tool 2. once the Update Tool is installed, CLOSE THE Nokta Detector Update Tool 3. WITH THE LEGEND TURNED OFF, CONNECT the supplied USB CABLE TO YOUR COMPUTER. 4. YOU MAY HEAR A WINDOWS ALERT ON THE COMPUTER INDICATING THAT THE DEVICE IS DETECTED BY THE COMPUTER. Terra, make sure you uninstall every version of previous Nokta update apps, they dont install over the others. Reinstall 1.09 and if it still doesn't detect try a different USB port until it detects it. If that still doesn't work,restart your computer and then try again. That usually will do it.
Help!! I am having problems with this. I have tried everything. I tried this method too. It did not work. I am wondering if the cable is bad. The "Update" word never pops up. It times out with waiting for connection and then to "select correct binary file"!!! There is only one. I do not get a red line but I get a gold and red bar that goes across the bottom. ***I need help***
Hi Carolyn, cables rarely go bad bad,but it's not ruled out.something is blocking it or missing. The most IMPORTANT PART is to make sure you're driver is installed during Noktas update. Are you even Getting that far? Do you get a window saying it will install a driver? If not that's the issue
Did all that and it still won't update. Can't detect my detector for some reason even when the Defender settings you show are turned off. Turned off all protections and still won't update. Got a windows doesn't recognize my device warning once and a device malfunction blinked on screen real fast and then was gone. Tried three different computers so there is a real issue with updating some of these machines. Going to have to take it to the dealer to see if he can do it. That's going to cost me $40 US in gas since the nearest dealer is 60 miles away.
Roger a device malfunction in Windows is related to your USB subsyatem, meaning anything drawing power from the laptop will cause a surge on your operating system causing it to briefly crash. Do you have another computer with windows on it? Im available to remotely assist you thats what we metal detectorists do for one another,help each other out. @@miningmonkey760 Thanks for the offer to help. I'll email some questions. Had to deal with taxes this morning. All my computers have windows 10, just defender that comes with it, and USB 2.0 ports only. wondering if USB 2.0 is the problem. Might need a newer one.
well, that was very odd it froze. does your pc have a screensaver or does it got to sleep in 1 minute? you can hold power button down for about 1 minute or so until the unit shuts down, that may help shut down. update only takes less than a minute, any longer something else happend.
updating from .06 to .07 improves the detectors performance,stability and operation. The bug fixes include issues too numerous to mention and were fixed by the engineers at NM. there as a known bug fix where the machine would freeze, 1.07 fixes that: 1. Beach Mode Multi-W and the Pinpoint in this mode has been improved and updated. 2. Bluetooth headphones pairing criteria have been updated. The device will now search for the headphones it has been paired with initially and try to connect to those. This will prevent the device from connecting to other Bluetooth devices when the Bluetooth setting is on. If you want to pair the device with different Bluetooth headphones (other than those it was initially paired with) you must delete them from memory as explained in the manual. 3. The sensitivity value will now be displayed also in the Target ID section. 4. The ground phase value calculated through automatic ground balance as well as tracking will now be saved. 5. Multi-1, Multi-2, Multi-D, Multi-W frequencies will now be saved. The device will start with the last frequency used. 6. The default Number of Tones for Park and Beach modes have been changed to 2. 7. The default Tone Volume level of ferreous tone has been updated per each mode. 8. The Ground Balance menu icons and the tones have been updated. 9. The battery bar levels have been fixed to a more linear function. 10. Bugs have been fixed. hope that helps
Uninstall the program and reinstall it, this time do not plug in until after you have installed it and then go into update mode on the legend,then plug in the USB cable at that point and try again with the file. Let me know.
@@miningmonkey760 i made sure to go into the windows defendor and turn off those settings too, still a valid port was not found :/ year 4 paying the village bill for water i dont get and i onky make 12 an hour lol gotta get to the bottom of this, the legend started acting dodgy with that 1.05 firmware on it too, missing nickels, quarters ect
@@getoutsidenow420 keep trying a different USB port, I'm finding that certain USB ports don't work on some PCs,why I haven't the foggiest notion.i just hear of others reporting that they tried a different USB port and then it worked
