I think there is an over-emphasis on grains - unless you are very active and need the fuel. I am WFPB, but have reduced my wholegrain breakfast bread to less than half a slice (actually now a small portion of flatbread) - and the yeast extract and peanut butter rein-in any blood glucose spike. I eat beans for my main meal. The myth of "combining" the two sadly still persists. I was amazed recently to find out that MUSHROOMS have even more protein per 100kcals than anything else in my diet !
