Age 76 been plant based no meat or dairy for over 13 years. Doctors and nurses have said whatever I’m doing, keep it up. They also said they want to clean up their diets. I’ve been told I look 35 to 45 years old. When I first start drinking green smoothies, a friend who I saw in Whole Foods and I hadn’t seen her in quite a few months, asked me if I had a facelift done!😂 I was around 63. I eat more quinoa with beans than rice. Lots of greens and frozen berries with bananas plus Sun Warrior Tahitian Vanilla Collagen in smoothies. I also add raw cacao, ginger, cinnamon, cayenne pepper and turmeric with black pepper (all from the spice cabinet) plus a bag of green tea. It’s so delicious and energizing! Great job Miranda on your videos!!!👏👏👏👏👏

I was completely plant based for several years, but have recently added 1 meal with fish once every other month or so. Hubby eats fish and chicken once in a while, but as we get older we are more conscientious of the health benefits of eating more plant based meals. My daughter has been a vegan since she was 11, she is now 24. I enjoy your meal ideas. They are easy and budget friendly. Also my daughter (she has a lot of food allergies) she does not have celiac but has an allergy to wheat. It wasn't until she was in Children's hospital when she was 15 that we found out you can have a wheat allergy but not have celiac. Thank you for your content.

I love, love, love this video friend! I have been vegan, whole food plant based for three years now, vegetarian or flexitarian, my entire life. I followed the Mennonite “More with Less” missionary approach raising my children, who are grown now. Meat was a side item only 4x a week. My husband and I eat for about $165 a week and that is not trying to be cheap, that’s organic and a few minimally processed foods. That is 3 meals and 2 snacks, about $11 a person per day. Most people spend more than that on one meal at fast food.
@flourishingmiranda
@flourishingmiranda Год назад
I always love when you pop into the comments and share about what works for you because you have such a good way with words! Not everyone’s trying to be cheap- and cheap doesn’t mean frugal! I think too often they cross and we consider ourselves frugal in some aspects because we get “more” out of life with small sacrifices in order to be able to put more into our life! Like travel! I’ll eat cheap to travel the word vs be in the same place my whole life! But I love that “more with less” such a peaceful way to think of life!

Good tips. Here's one for the meat eaters out there. Instead of buying pre cut steaks, look for bigger packs of meat. I got a 6lb pork loin at 1.99lb last week, sliced it into pork chops and put it in the freezer. Quart sized freezer bags, 2-3 chops per bag, just throw one in the fridge and it will thaw overnight

When I’m with friends or family or out to dinner, I’m more flexible because where I live doesn’t have a ton of options for even vegetarians let alone vegan/plant-based eating. My purchasing is different than you as I typically purchase items in bulk for cheaper overall cost in the long run. I really hate shopping so I love that I can live out of my pantry for weeks at a time. Past several years I've started buying large amounts of produce from local farmers and complete home canning to enjoy throughout the year. your open minded view on personal eating is super refreshing & up there w/ all the reasons i love watching your channel! i do eat cheese & eggs but i mostly keep it vegan or plant based. quick tip on eggs: I noticed at walmart (example) buying premade, already hardboiled & peeled 6 count is $2.54 so you can add that to a regular 12 count and it might be cheaper & more convenient than buying 2 12 counts.....anyway i like cooking from scratch or simple meals. oh, one thing i do is that i like cherries. but they're not cheap! so i buy frozen & i eat those as snacks. and it still makes me feel fancy :D i looove buying all frozen veggies. broccoli, green beans, mixed, etc. it's easy & it lasts longer and i can throw it into whatever i'm cooking. random tip: i also buy those $1 plant based milks from dollar tree & buy like 10. i dont need to buy milk for like 2 months. end note: a lot of it is just habit. when you're trying to eat more plants. everything you do is based on a habit you've created. so, if it's easier to cook from scratch, thats what you'll do. if its easier to buy premade food, that's what you'll do. we are creatures of habit. sorry it's a long reply! anyway,

This last grocery haul the two experiments were a Tuscan gnocchi with tomato sauce by the company Cauliflower. Excellent flavored gnocchi. The second experiment was from Green Giant frozen veggies. It was a combination of riced cauliflower, asparagus and mushrooms. It was yummy even without any added seasonings of any kind.

Plant based for the animals and I always hated dairy anyway so was never an issue giving that up.

I really love that cashew yoghurt, hope it doesn’t bother your belly! I’m plant based💯🌱 I’m not a huge fan of the plant based meat alternatives. I’d rather make a black bean burger, etc Then again I could honestly live off of oats, blueberries broccoli and Japanese sweets🍠 I bought grapes this week too - yummy 🍇 What your mom said is SO true lol when hungry, anything! My mom used to tell us if we were hungry to eat a banana 🍌 which also works Gotta love moms💓 Great video. Stay warm.

Not fully plant based but trying to be as much as possible for my 3 person family. If it were just me I would choose to be 99% WFPB.

Not fully plant based but working on the transition. I am saving money eating less meat but not keen on meat substitutes

WFPB here. There are some pretty yucky vegan cheeses out there (Daiya for one IMHO), but the brands CHAO and VIOLIFE are really yummy. Also, I make a lot of homemade cheese sauce using both Cashews or Cashew powder or potatoes and carrots depending on what I have on hand.

Plant based, no oil, no processed stuff. Vegan 16years, plant based 3 years. Love you and your video's.

Long time vegan here, and definitely the best decision I’ve ever made. And I agree-those Babyel cheeses are awful!
