Thanks for the information. I tried your method and it works great. My question is, is there any difference or advantage of using this method compared to just using india ink? When I tried sanding the ebonized wood pieces, it looks like the solution didn't really go deep. Just slightly below the surface. Thanks

Can this technique be used to ebonize boxwood chess pieces?

Is he just using this for the plugs? or for the entire cabinet --confusing
