Edging the skis is one of the fundamentals of skiing. Coach Weavin Stevens, a PSIA level 3 examiner at Heavenly Ski Resort, teaches how to edge the skis in the right way. Most skiers do it wrong and result in A-frame.
The first half of the video was because people learned how to Snowplow and Stem turn which teaches them that they have to Force the skis to turn. His solution is just as bad in regard to ending up on your inside ski. He just didn't tell you that. Stand up and bend your knees to the left for a left turn. Which foot are you on? Your left foot. For a left turn you should be on your right foot. Oh and, your ankles can't roll over and your knees can't lean to the side. They can only rotate to the side.
