Nice Video. Was that footage taken on Ektachrome? It looks quite grainy and blueish. I've done S8 and Single8 scanning, working on that for 20 years. Main problem was, almost all footage was taken in 18fps, the older footage on Single8 in 16fps, so it could not been edited in iMovie or FCP as there are no such options. Luckily, Quicktime on my old eMac (which died last year) had editing capabilities. BTW, the oldest reel I scanned was from my grandfather, taken 1931. If You check Wikipedia, they state Standard8 was introduced 1932, what is clearly wrong.

I’m not sure what the film is. I believe the grain is mainly due to the compression of the digitizer. That is the only real issue with these types of machines. I believe the blue hue comes from the Kodak machine as well. I remember reading that Kodak was always a bit on the blue side but I could be mistaken. Thanks for the comment and watching!!!

The Kodak Reels scans very sharply, just set the sharpness to -1 and the grain becomes much less and the sharpness is still fine.

I have not used the free version of the Mac video editor as of yet but I will be and making instructional videos for it. On that note, If there is a razor tool that you can cut your clip into section then use that. After that, you can set your in point and out point of that cut clip in your timeline and then export that section.
