Thanks Chris for the comment. You are correct I have done most of my work without nd filters and just added to or fixed my images in Lightroom and Photoshop. However in an attempt to work less on the computer I have invested in a new filter system. I just purchased a Formatt Hitech system. Hopefully getting it right in camera first with help me edit less.
Chris De Christophe that’s a great question. I do use a nodal rail sometimes if I don’t want any part of my image wasted. I find that if I shoot a super wide pano that I usually will need a nodal rail as well. But under normal conditions I can usually get a great result without one. I will be making another vlog soon on shooting a pano with a nodal rail. Just waiting for the snow to melt enough to be able to hike up to the location. Stay tuned for that coming video. Chris De Christophe I don’t think there is a difference withe mirrorless vs dslr but I do believe the lens does matter. You are more likely to need a nodal rail with a wide lens than with a long lens. When I do panos with my 50-140 I never use a rail. However if you are doing a multirow panorama I would recommend using a rail as well.
