In this video I will take you through how I shoot multi row panorama. Enjoy the beauty that North Idaho has to offer! In Part 2 of this video I will show how I edit Multiple Row Panoramas in Lightroom and Photoshop. I also show the difference between using a wide angle
lens vs. a multiple row panorama of the same image.

In your panos, in addition to left to right, did you also say you rotate up and down? Does that all go into one series (stitching) or separate? I usually just stitch 8-20 images in a horizontal plane. Anything above 12 and they get very thin and stretched (is this normal?) I use Affinity photo. I shoot in Landscape orientation usually around 100mm.

I do rotate up and down when I do a multi row pano. For example I will shoot 7 images left to right shooting the top half and the 7 images shooting the bottom half. I stitch the top and bottom half together in Lightroom then blend the top and bottom panos together in Photoshop. I almost always shoot my panoramas in portrait orientation anywhere between 35mm to 100mm, I am usually at around 50mm.

@@GabrielOakPhotography Thanks. Maybe that is how I can get them to be less thin.

nice pics. any recommendation on a good indexing pano head? I want to hear and feel the clicks. i bought one but in the field, i can't feel or hear the stops. inside I can a little bit. I dont want that big acratech head. I have a great FLM ballhead and level base.

I do know what you mean about wanting clicks. It would be super helpful to speed up the process of shooting a pano. I do not know of any decent pano head with clicks. I stick with my acratech head because the build quality is amazing and I can abuse it and it never fails, but it can be tricky to see my marks in low light.

@@GabrielOakPhotography Thanks. What do you think of the 300N Manfrotto?
@GabrielOakPhotography
@GabrielOakPhotography 2 года назад
@@MOAB-UT I think that is a great option. I love Manfrotto and that panoramic base looks amazing. I did consider it at one point but the price point steered me away. Kinda kicking myself not.

@@GabrielOakPhotography Thanks for your reply. I agree. It is the best option I have found so far. I just returned the other one I bought today. It was solid and heavy but the clicks were super soft. Just went to Death Valley and Zion NP. In the field, sand storms, wind, sun, I could not feel or see a single click. Hoping the Manfrotto at 2-3x + the price should be better. I have a Manfrotto Focus Rail I use for Macro- it works amazingly well- very solid as you said. I use that focus rail on my German FLM ball head with an L bracket so I can establish the correct Nodal Point. I'm pretty new but it works great- in post, it is very even and very little cropping was necessary. I also have the FLM level base. I use my own large bubble level to make sure all is right- the tiny built in ones are not accurate enough IMO. I am a little OCD which in photography is actually a good thing. So was Ansel Adams - Group f/64!

@@MOAB-UT Let me know how it works out for you as I may change up my set up a little if it works great for you.

So boring! All that talk about leveling the tripod and then you push it off level and include it in the video.

It was an early video for me when I first was starting. I agree that it could have used a little more interest. I am going to make another one soon about Multi Row Panos that will be much better.
