You know you just can lock the video layer and drag the audio wherever you want? Or vice-versa.. You make it a little more complicated than it needs to be
that is why I thought. I was used to doing exactly that but in Windows Movie Maker. I left him a comment that it seems harder in Premiere. Your way sounds easier and I didn't know you could lock a layer - thank you.

I freaking love your tutorial! I just recently switched to fcpx and I can’t just find anyone doing tutorial on fcpx es good as yours on premiere pro so I just stick to your premiere pro tutorial hoping to recreate the same effects on fcpx 😂
mmm... it is a bit harder than I am I used to in Windows Movie Maker. I am trying to leave that and move to Premiere Pro. So, how about if the music or sound needs to fade in or out? Sorry for my probably stupid question. Love your little videos they are always quick and to the point. The person who said they are too long is crazy. 7 mins is great I think. I have no time for sitting through a 45 min video each time I want to get a tip on how to do something. Thank you and keep up the great work.
you can use expoential fade and shorten or lengthen the time of the fade out or fade in. I was a WMM user prior to getting prem pro, I'm 10 moths in to it, and still learning new stuff. its a different beast to WMM, my advice, is just keep using prem pro and learn as you go, and watch tutorials when you hit a hurdle and don't know what to do,
if you dont like then dont watch, its not difficult...if youre so smart at video production then make your own and we can judge how good you are...idiot
nah, I prefer it this way. There are a lot of people who view videos on a regular basis, random videos even. Not all people who go through youtube find a specific video they are looking for a certain topic but they tend to be recommended or being referred through maybe RU-vid's Algorithm. So if he talks a lot, and says basically everything or every tool used for the effect, it encourages the beginners or the curious people who just clicked the video for fun. Meh, that's just my opinion and I still love his take.
As a person who just started learning into AE and PP (with zero background in design softwares whatsoever), I found your videos immensely helpful and direct. I have a suggestion. There are a kind of tutorials that are more basic level, such as this one, and there are ones that is at least intermediate level such as call out titles. Can you group your video into separate playlists? Because each is about 7~30 minute long and before I go into 2-3 minute mark I wouldn't know if its the first thing i have to learn. Just a suggestion, nothing much. Thanks for the tutorials, again.
exactly but partly, if you look at my tutorial, and see the video, the j cut looks absolutely out of place but i only did that for the sake of the tutorial. But you are right, J cuts are mostly used for transitioning from one scene to another while L Cuts are used to actually cut between dialogue

it would sound a lot smoother if the audio from the basketball game was faded in while the audio from the city was still playing, then when the basketball clip starts playing, cut the city audio.
