How To: Electrolytic cleaning of the Air-O-Gas cabin stove

So there's been a lot of work going on behind the scenes with the cabin stove, and there'll be videos coming up showing that process. This is one of the first large pieces of the stove that have gone into the "soup". This process uses electricity and washing soda to remove rust and paint with virtually no effort, and best of all, no nasty chemicals to smell/burn up your fingers/and worst of all, have to buy!
We'll be sticking with the headcam stuff for a while, it's really the best way to give you guys a POV view of what's going on.

Can't wait to see this puppy restored! Nice work! I remember when your only tools for rust removal elbow grease and naval jelly. Electrolysis is like magic. How much of the anodes is left? Great idea using cans for anodes.

The anodes made out of the fuel cans only last a couple of days on big items like this. I think I went through a total of 4 cans before I called it done. Plasma cutter makes short work of stuff like this. Problem is that I still had stuff to process, but no more anodes. Well, we just had a roof replacement and we cut the cord on dish network, so I had a satellite dish laying about that was taking up space and I hadn't figured what to do with it yet. Well, plasma cutter to the rescue again. Sliced it up into some nice big anodes, and then burned all the paint off on my frankie HGP and I was back in business. These are much thicker, so they last longer, but still get chewed up.
