I grew up so poor that my family actually lived off water and bread, and my family is so close because of it. I feel like an imposter when I have some money nowadays. I guess it’s important for survival but also not important at the same time because it taught me how to make do without.

It might have taught you the difference between living well and surviving. Instead of feeling like an imposter (unless you’re getting money from devious acts or a lottery ) you should feel fortunate and grateful. Enjoy. Try new foods, different bread or bottled water. What a thought. Reminds me of El Salto Nicaragua. A beautiful area far from the cities. Walking down the street there was (cordabas) money laying in the streets. Everywhere money. A poor peoples but poverty has nothing to do with lack of cash. Generations of people cash means nothing lest they work for it. It really affected how, I see things. Our currency is our soul and spirit. Blessing

God is so loving that He heals even if we don’t understand the mechanics of it. But this teaching shed light for me on some of the mechanics and it makes me in awe of God’s goodness even more! Your message of our birth makes us matter just made me leap for joy! It is another way to say we matter that is added to my heart. About twenty years ago, when I was in my early 30’s, I started reading The Scriptures from cover to cover and not just a verse here and a verse there. Ok the third round of reading through, I read “You shall love your neighbor as yourself”. I had read that many times in my life, but it took this long for it to hit me right at the center of my pain to start healing it. This verse says to me that there is no way to genuinely love someone else unless you properly love yourself. And since it is a command from God, it is important and we show we love Him by following this commandment. This verse hit me so hard at that moment and ever since because I was treated terribly growing up as well and taught that God wanted me to loathe myself to be acceptable to Him. This was drilled into my very being. I paid very dark and heavy prices for being brainwashed into having no dignity. The verse that says that I must love my neighbor as myself was the living bomb used to start breaking up the bondage of no self dignity. That moment of reading that scripture made me cry, made me livid that I had been lied to, and made me relieved for the very first time in my life that I mattered! Your teaching reaffirmed this truth from a different angle. Praise be to our God! The path to healing the brokenness takes time and is very painful. But as one goes along ones mourning turns to gladness. I say this from experience and not just because it was already said in Scripture. Your clear and gentle approach to show that self dignity is different that self egoism is so very important! I have seen too many times the pendulum swing from no self worth to super self worth from a self centered perspective. Both sides of that pendulum is still the same pendulum and leads to bondage. But who teaches the truth of what self dignity really is so that a person feels drawn to throw out that old pendulum that will never work?! Maybe there are many out there teaching it and I just missed them all. That is possible. Your teaching of this ‘sets His people free’ with His Truth. May God’s truth be spoken, understood, and followed to see the healing that is provided from His ways and wisdom!

Not just money, but virtue, too. My parents were elders in our church, my grandparents too. I suffered for so many years under their abuse. And had to smile 2-3x a week and confirm to the outside world that they were indeed great parents. I struggle so much with the concept of G-d because of this; for a long time so have no spirit or soul.
@straight.no.chaser1708
@straight.no.chaser1708 Год назад
I hope this comment helps. Your foundational understanding and definition of God and May benefit from reexamination. When you shift from a belief that says God is all about judgement and punishment to considering his true nature and also seeing our parents as people in their own right and not just your parents it can open up exploration that promotes understanding and or acceptance which may be a key to unlocking a little more healing.
@bino6453
@bino6453 Год назад
yes, regarding even parents through an utterly unbiased lens comparatively to other people is key. We easily and too often forget they are just people too, and attachment distorts all perception of events.
@bobiq
@bobiq Год назад
The problem with parents is that we carry them inside of us, both through nature and nurture, which is why it is so triggering to discover that their values do not correspond to ours. This causes us to break apart, which is what you might be experiencing now. You can build strength by deciding for yourself who you really are and how you want to live your life. You do have your own soul. Just allow it to express.

Sorry Rabbi. Been thinking all afternoon, linking concepts together and then a flash. At the moment we are like Jacob. We learn to hold ideas and concepts by forming brain connections. We look around and decide its time to be independent and incontrol. We arrogantly think we know best. We descend in awareness and project our truth onto the mind and the thought energy which accepts thought good or bad. It simply accepts the thoughts. Jacob reflects his ego and the germative layer reflects back. This is the layer that reflected Gods thought to a lower layer where it could be seen, analysed and captured as a memory of reality. Jacob finally realizes and thinks with a higher awarness which projects positive thought which manifests as spotted sheep. Jacob takes the created thoughts to God because Laban says that what is created on his level, belongs to him. Jacob took deceit to Laban. Laban had quite happily accepted good thought for his sister. Gold. So each mind has to give its work to the soul so that it can be harvested. Originally this was done collectively. Joseph is a focal point that collects and distributes collectively. Pharoah steals collectively. But the people get larger which means they have a larger mental capacity to hold awareness through Moses. So the world is enslaved but gaining in mental capacity to understand harder concepts. We are moving into another phase? Its interesting that Jacob can take everything back up to the higher level but after Laban blocks the way we cannot do that. Only the soul escapes.

The whole marx theory is flawed, because its never going to be equal. Lets say everyone pools and then you divide equally - did the man who tilled the soil work as little or much as the person next to him? And if its selfish for him to keep his work and subsequent spoils for himself, is it not also selfish to take more than youve earned? It's a system designed to fail and incur slavery.

Rabbi, your Wisdom will float away above the heads of many as it would have Oscar Wildes. Oscar Wilde would not have made the same value substitutions taking >>> The Constellation Lupus > Object 1 > Men (translation The South Gate). He would not have understood the term "Plague" as the Wise amongst us understand it. He would have followed the course of eschatological theory satirically. He would not have thought for a moment that all of the ampoules used recently contained nothing more sinister than saline solution ordered hastily to stop a mass panic as "something" is taking out "Something-else" discriminately and those seeking to find the way to make life here worth living don't know what it is.

It wasn't one person only that controlled everything in Komunism. One person realistically can't. They had many other officials. In kingdoms you have only one king but no one complains that one person controlls everything. Any excuse for greedy people not to share with one another.

I am deeply grateful that I discovered Rabbi Simon. So much beautiful wisdom. I can’t seem to stop myself however, commenting on your remarks about Marx’s critique of capitalism and praising it to the moon. This I feel is unfortunate because in truth Marx consistently criticizes a caricature of the free enterprise system. The word “capitalism” itself is a tendentious attack on private property. The ongoing acceptance and promotion of what is demonstrably an evil and inhuman economic philosophy causes ongoing damage. Marx should be seen as every bit as evil as Hitler and Stalin and Mao and his ideas thoroughly repudiated and expunged from mainstream discourse.

I didn't understand all the Jewish references that you made. But I understood at the beginning when you said if you don't have the 10th part it doesn't work right. And I knew that's what my issue was. I have the sensitivity and the intelligence, creativity, and even sometimes humility. But I don't seem to have that tenth part... Thank you. I think God is working that in me now... Of course your story from St Louis at about the 55-minute mark was very touching. What matters the most is that God says we matter. As you were saying, we don't have to have achievements, success, if we have that...

It amazes me that in this day in age people like yourself still spout that Marx's "ideas are brilliant". Then in the next breath you admit to all the inherent flaws in such ideas. Lets put aside the tens of millions of deaths we can directly attribute to this "brilliant idea". You point out yourself how this utopian vision is unattainable. You mention that without everyone agreeing to this "system" it cannot work. You point out the question about, who controls its implementation until all is running according to "plan"; how one man (as in the case of communist dictators) ends up taking advantage of these ideas to take complete control of all aspects of everyone's lives. Yet with all these, and many more, non-viable alternatives as you admitted yourself, you proclaim his ideas as "brilliant". Some people may consider Marx's ideas at best, short sited and unworkable and at worst, the mind of a man who is so obsessed with the power of his intellect as to abandon any semblance of humanity. You may want to refer to your talk about intellectual vs. emotional competence. And, it's always interesting how certain people gravitate to these brilliant (read: destructive and insane) ideas. How you describe employees having no connection the products they produce and some vague comment on, being, "alienated between you and yourself" while at work; that you're not "yourself at work", how you most do what the boss tells you, as if you cannot start a company of your own, etc., are subjects that should be taken up another time.

It is a systematic and grounded speech from wich one can realiise a lot of things and suddenly you also can hear some funny information like US were built on egual rights ,even spiritual rights and not greed, ok, then let us ask some american natives about this and you, geehrter rabbi, if you did not know exactly you may have some surprise finding out what whitefathers were actually doing on prairies when not praying on Sundays in the church....not to speak about slavery wich lasted long after one could consider that system as a capitalist one...Or maybe you do not consider indians or kidnapped african people bought like beasts being like human enough ?? Meanwhile I am still curious about this self doubt and who is actually sufering from it and why, nowadays...so continue watching.

Talking about dignity, in most what so called third world countries, human dignity is violated every day. A lot of effort is required by countries and people who value human dignity to prevent such violations .

I think there are great insights in this video. But, how does "avoid being impacted by others by initiating and not giving up" apply to the Jews in the Holocaust? I really think it needs to be understood. Maybe it doesn't work politically. But that is where the greatest number of injuries occur on earth.

I like at around the 2745 mark the charity is the salvation or solution for society. Isn't that interesting that this fits the Christian ethic which is to love God with all your being, and love your neighbor as yourself! Jesus was often teaching about love...

At times you are just fed up,by judged by environment . you have to let it go,the bright side of the whole scene is the drive you have to conquer.remember at the very first place I didn't drag some one,fact is I was the one draged by my whole environment including family,friends, neighborhood relatives, working environment.when you have all that pain eventually when you have it all that they just dream upon.the tables are turned.it is not necessary that I will behave like them n become animal like that.butwhats important is to be victorious in the fight that I haven't start at first place.and I fully understand capitalism, and how it works more you give less you have.less you take less you have

Communism does a pretty good job of alienating everybody from their one true self and purpose. It chooses your purpose for you, weather you like it or not. Where as capitalism emphasizes the individual and as long as your competent, you can do what ever you want. Marx saying capitalism creates alienation is like Xi Jinping saying capitalism creates alienation. Also, he was as antisemitic as as the mustache man. I wouldn't say he is a good guy to quote and I wouldn't say that he made a valid criticism or that he was anybody to criticize.
