I am a Christian. But this following sentence really struck me. "Birth is God saying that you matter" - Wow, what an intriguing message. Thank you for that. Greetings from Austria.

I grew up so poor that my family actually lived off water and bread, and my family is so close because of it. I feel like an imposter when I have some money nowadays. I guess it’s important for survival but also not important at the same time because it taught me how to make do without.

Be- not have. I wasn't born with confidence, I've forged it in fire. My comfort zone is following me anywhere I go.

God is so loving that He heals even if we don’t understand the mechanics of it. But this teaching shed light for me on some of the mechanics and it makes me in awe of God’s goodness even more! Your message of our birth makes us matter just made me leap for joy! It is another way to say we matter that is added to my heart. About twenty years ago, when I was in my early 30’s, I started reading The Scriptures from cover to cover and not just a verse here and a verse there. Ok the third round of reading through, I read “You shall love your neighbor as yourself”. I had read that many times in my life, but it took this long for it to hit me right at the center of my pain to start healing it. This verse says to me that there is no way to genuinely love someone else unless you properly love yourself. And since it is a command from God, it is important and we show we love Him by following this commandment. This verse hit me so hard at that moment and ever since because I was treated terribly growing up as well and taught that God wanted me to loathe myself to be acceptable to Him. This was drilled into my very being. I paid very dark and heavy prices for being brainwashed into having no dignity. The verse that says that I must love my neighbor as myself was the living bomb used to start breaking up the bondage of no self dignity. That moment of reading that scripture made me cry, made me livid that I had been lied to, and made me relieved for the very first time in my life that I mattered! Your teaching reaffirmed this truth from a different angle. Praise be to our God! The path to healing the brokenness takes time and is very painful. But as one goes along ones mourning turns to gladness. I say this from experience and not just because it was already said in Scripture. Your clear and gentle approach to show that self dignity is different that self egoism is so very important! I have seen too many times the pendulum swing from no self worth to super self worth from a self centered perspective. Both sides of that pendulum is still the same pendulum and leads to bondage. But who teaches the truth of what self dignity really is so that a person feels drawn to throw out that old pendulum that will never work?! Maybe there are many out there teaching it and I just missed them all. That is possible. Your teaching of this ‘sets His people free’ with His Truth. May God’s truth be spoken, understood, and followed to see the healing that is provided from His ways and wisdom!

I control others because I respect myself; I was fooled many times because I am 'too sensitive' and don't want to be hurt again. This is why I try to control who I allow in my life, I was hurt because I was afraid to do due diligence checks. Thank You Rabbi for everything you do to us, your are true teacher.

Not just money, but virtue, too. My parents were elders in our church, my grandparents too. I suffered for so many years under their abuse. And had to smile 2-3x a week and confirm to the outside world that they were indeed great parents. I struggle so much with the concept of G-d because of this; for a long time so have no spirit or soul.

The whole marx theory is flawed, because its never going to be equal. Lets say everyone pools and then you divide equally - did the man who tilled the soil work as little or much as the person next to him? I am deeply grateful that I discovered Rabbi Simon. So much beautiful wisdom. I can’t seem to stop myself however, commenting on your remarks about Marx’s critique of capitalism and praising it to the moon. This I feel is unfortunate because in truth Marx consistently criticizes a caricature of the free enterprise system. The word “capitalism” itself is a tendentious attack on private property. The ongoing acceptance and promotion of what is demonstrably an evil and inhuman economic philosophy causes ongoing damage. Marx should be seen as every bit as evil as Hitler and Stalin and Mao and his ideas thoroughly repudiated and expunged from mainstream discourse.

It amazes me that in this day in age people like yourself still spout that Marx's "ideas are brilliant". Then in the next breath you admit to all the inherent flaws in such ideas. Lets put aside the tens of millions of deaths we can directly attribute to this "brilliant idea". You point out yourself how this utopian vision is unattainable. You mention that without everyone agreeing to this "system" it cannot work. You point out the question about, who controls its implementation until all is running according to "plan"; how one man (as in the case of communist dictators) ends up taking advantage of these ideas to take complete control of all aspects of everyone's lives. Yet with all these, and many more, non-viable alternatives as you admitted yourself, you proclaim his ideas as "brilliant". Some people may consider Marx's ideas at best, short sited and unworkable and at worst, the mind of a man who is so obsessed with the power of his intellect as to abandon any semblance of humanity. You may want to refer to your talk about intellectual vs. emotional competence. And, it's always interesting how certain people gravitate to these brilliant (read: destructive and insane) ideas. How you describe employees having no connection the products they produce and some vague comment on, being, "alienated between you and yourself" while at work; that you're not "yourself at work", how you most do what the boss tells you, as if you cannot start a company of your own, etc., are subjects that should be taken up another time.

Remember people Christians Muslims Jews all believe in the same god. We are all one family let’s fix our worlds corruption it has strayed to far from GOD and Values.

Talking about dignity, in most what so called third world countries, human dignity is violated every day. A lot of effort is required by countries and people who value human dignity to prevent such violations .

I think there are great insights in this video. But, how does "avoid being impacted by others by initiating and not giving up" apply to the Jews in the Holocaust? I like at around the 2745 mark the charity is the salvation or solution for society. Isn't that interesting that this fits the Christian ethic which is to love God with all your being, and love your neighbor as yourself! Jesus was often teaching about love...

Communism does a pretty good job of alienating everybody from their one true self and purpose. It chooses your purpose for you, weather you like it or not. Where as capitalism emphasizes the individual and as long as your competent, you can do what ever you want. Marx saying capitalism creates alienation is like Xi Jinping saying capitalism creates alienation. Also, he was as antisemitic as as the mustache man. I wouldn't say he is a good guy to quote and I wouldn't say that he made a valid criticism or that he was anybody to criticize.
