Mr Galeazzo Frudua.The B string of my MM Stingray 5 was often muddy and dead sounding from the 4th fret and up.Really annoying.I just loosened the string and just like you said it unrolled from itself.I strung it again,now without tension on it self and now i have more sustain and an even sound on my B up to the 12th fret.I am pleased.Grazie mille for your tip.

interesting man. never thought about the potential twist on a low B after fitting the string before.makes sense not to let it happen. cheers for this

@Spirituality1980 Yes this is valid for guitars too especially the ones equipped with a Floyd Rose tremolo where the strings ends are blocked. The strings vibration pattern is actually a circle in the sense oyu mean it.

@RLHubner >> Pickup placement on your bass is ok to achieve a great slap tone. The 70ies spacing will give to you a little percentage of extra highs which alone will not take you where you want. Check the slap sound on fruduabassamplification>>dot>>com and let me know if this is what you're searching for.

@RLHubner Ok this is 60ies spacing. You can get some thing similar following Dave's instructions on the video. What he's basicaly ding is using my amp scooping the mids a bit and enhancing the bass and superhights a bit.

Hi, I've recently bought a CFJ5 bass with the exact same specs as described in the site, and it was built in Italy. The thing is that the headstock says "Tribe". I've heard the original Frudua basses had that brand and later was replaced by the Frudua logo. Would be nice to know the story behind this as it seems there's nothing on the internet about it. Thanks!

Hi...Very concisely and clearly explained .Thanks a lot ... but there is one other thing you notice when tuning pickups , and that is the angle of the pickup relative to the wire, If passed the guitar on the table that would be a horizontal. I do not know how long I will be clear but I'll try to explain the case. Here's an example ... if on the surface of the pickup .. put a metal rod as thick like wire B for example . And the rod is same length as the wire, while she lies perfectly on the surface of one of the pickup (Does not matter which). If the metal rod followed B string from beginning to end ( Bridge to nut ), without parallel deviations. Whether this would be the perfect angle of the pickup relative to the strings? Thanks!

@FruduaTv Sorry. I mean the straight (not twisted) string principle and the height of the strings. By the way, sorry if this is a stupid question but the motion of the string is sideways not up and down, no? So still it's important that the string has enough space to move up and down as you show.

Yes it's just a matter of playing not casue of the instrument. Your technique must involve that you stop some strings while playing other.

@FruduaTv Hi, I have an American Std JB and it sounds way too vintage for me, the highs are really muddy. I'm trying to get a more modern sound such as Marcus Miller's sound. Some guys told me that I need to get a 70's pickup spaced jazz bass and install a preamp on it, but I don't wanna get rid of my Jazz since it is my first bass. Also, I have 75 Reissue pickups on it. I was told that a preamp would make my bass sound a little more modern but what I really need is a 70's jazz. Can you help me?

Hey my low B will vibrate if i dont keep my thumb on it which clogs up my sound. I have set my action so there is very little fret buzz and i have set my intonation. Do you know why this is?

thepaulmccartneyexperience.com I have a problem with my Hofner violin bass.I have tried more than 20 other violin basses and they all have the same problem. Its too much volum on the A-string, and then the D-string and then the E-string.The G-string is always the lowest volum. But the biggest problem is the strong A-string.I have heard that it was possible to adjust the small screws on the pickup. I have tried this on several basses, but the volum is the same. Do you know if it is possible to solve this problem.Do you have some secret trick?? Best regards from Norway.

hmm, nice vid, but most non specialists are going to have feeler gauges in the house or garage. i need the distance from the bottom of the string, not the top.
