I am not a mom yet but I’m mentally preparing myself to be one. I’m Muslim but same mindset totally as you. All your tips and advice is so useful. Thank you for helping us ❤❤
Great video, a lot of people need to hear this, especially me. I feel like I'm spiralling. I have two boys, they are 6 and 3 - they are absolutely addicted to screens. When we take them away, they mope, whine and wait around until they get TV or video game time again (especially my older son). I am really burnt out and I feel like my cup is always empty. I feel guilty when I sit down and decompress because it feels like I should be doing something. So I literally am depending on screens because it just gives me some mental sanity because they stop asking and demanding and are just finally quiet. Sorry for the essay lol I just feel like I have no one to talk to about this because everyone around me is a-ok with screens and if they arent, they get all judgemental and I dont need that. So I am taking steps to hopefully break this horrible addiction and watching content like yours helps a lot. Thank you 🙏
You are doing great mama! If you need someone to hear you, feel free to shoot me a message anytime🤍 (Instagram might be easier for that though..) Take it slow and one step at a time. Maybe start by using a timer and make the decision to let them use a screen for 1 hr a day. And then reduce it over time. You’ve got this 💪🏻
We love taking our kids to restaurants to teach them how to behave and interact during dinner and in a restaurant, its so great!! My mom bought them all tablets when they each turned 3, but I immediately realized they weren't good for them. And quickly took them away. They are now rarely used, like not at all this past year, but we used them on the drive to and from camping last summer with a couple of pre-downloaded movies on them. We have since found a lot of new fidget toys and drawing pads that are great for car rides and church. My oldest daughter has a yoto player, and listens to books sometimes, but she still prefers to read on her own, however she gets car sick, so listening to the yoto stories in the car is great too! Great video!! Thanks!!
Ohh I have heard of the yoto player. It sounds amazing! And we also love to bring our kids into situations as learning experiences! It’s a great way to practice what we have learned at home
That family example is so sad. I use the movie wall E to talk to my kids about why we don't don't that but we are headed that way. That movie is so depressing lol
If they have to use it for their education you can’t do much about it. The only thing you can control is what happens inside the home when they use it for entertainment. So I would start (or continue) to reduce the use of technology for entertainment purposes only.
Hi Stephanie… We are a homeschooling family who’s considering relocation to the Netherlands. I wanted to ask if homeschooling is common over there? And also if intentional parenting is common over there? For example if a scene like you saw at the restaurant is a rare thing or if it’s normal?
