Hi I am Steph! I love Jesus, my family and everything about HOME. I love Homemaking - Home management - Homeschooling - Working from home, etc.
It is my passion to help mothers find joy in their home again. I want to show you the beauty of being a mother, being a homemaker and embracing those important God-given roles. Striving to look more like the Proverbs 31 woman every day.
You will find content that has everything to do with biblical homemaking, being a biblical wife, mother and woman.
Hi Stephanie! I didn't realize that you live in the Netherlands! May I ask: how do you manage to homeschool the children when it's legally not an option in this country? (We live in NL too, that's why I'm asking😊)
If it wasn’t legal, we wouldn’t do it (or share about it online, haha)😉 It’s definitely legal, but you need to know how and when😊 I’d recommend going to the Facebook group: ‘thuisonderwijs voor geïnteresseerden’ for any questions.
Yes! This is so true. It doesn’t escape me a single day (even the difficult ones where my attitude is lacking 😅) what a blessing it is to be at home with my children.
Yes! We need to change our mindsets! Also we need to remember that what we have is a blessing from the Lord and needs to be cared for well. (I’m talking to myself here also!). Thank you for this video! ❤️
Perfect day for this to be recommended to me. Having a hard day with my husband and frankly it’s been a hard marriage. I know we need some counseling to help us grow better and this just reaffirmed that for me. Thank you for sharing. I hope some day we can have a strong and loving marriage like you and your husband.
I love seeing marriages thrive with Him! Feel free to message me personally on IG (stephaniealgra) but I have seen first hand how people around us got through a tough time together, sometimes with counseling, and now have a beautiful and thriving relationship. It’s so worth it!
@@stephanie-algra thank you! I know God is teaching me a lot through this and I am praying soon he will transform my husbands heart. He is a believer but it seems like it hasn’t ever really sunk in to the degree it has for me but I want him to know the peace and joy he can find in The Lord. We start counseling next month with our pastor and the same pastor has agreed to give him some one on one mentoring as well which he has always wanted but no one has ever said yes before!
Perfect day for me to hear this! Yesterday I was supervising my son (he is learning to drive) in the car. We finally made it home (Deo gratias) and he said to me, "Mother, I don't want to hurt your feelings, but I think I'd rather just learn from Dad. He screams and panics less." 🤣🤣🤣 Truly our charisms differ. :)
Not a homemaker myself, but I know how important it is to take care of my spouse. Simple things do have a huge impact on the marriage. I feel like our society as whole has been walking a very selfish path and no one wants to do nice things to anyone nowadays and no relationship can survive that way. There’s nothing like the sweet smile I get every time my husband comes home from work and smells the food I made him with so much love.
Ben zo dankbaar ❤
Thank you for inspiration and tips, very valuable for me right now! I have had a big struggle with sleeping in the mornings (till 9am; 10am and even longer) since childhood! Tried so many times to wake up early, but could not sustain the habit! I have decided to not give up on this and this morning I woke up at 6:00am. Last night I was renewing my mind with new thoughts and Bible verses why I want to wake up early and it worked! I had a peaceful morning: 1) started with 30min exercise 2) then shower + getting ready 3) Bible study time + prayer 4) breakfast 5) then walking with my dog for more than an hour! And now I am ready to work for God's business ☺️! I feel so content and more connected with God! Never give up on something you have been struggling for years! You can do ALL things through him who strengthens you!!! P.S. I am opposite to you, my alarm (very peaceful melody) needs to be far away from the bed and I can not go back to bed, because otherwise I would snooze 20 times😴.
My parents never told me about my identity in Christ. My parents were christians, but in their opinion I was what I did. It still is a problem in my relationship with Jesus. So good job you are telling your children who they really are in Christ.
Great tips, Stephanie!! Especially loved the point about putting some things on the shelf in a box and rotating them instead of having them all out at once!
I hate having all my meals planned in advance, just like I would hate having all my outfits planned in advance. So what I tried on vacation with my fiancé (we don't live together) was : 1° evaluate how many lunches and how many dinners I would have to cook 2° make a list of the dishes I wanted to cook over the two weeks we were going to spend together 3° write next to each dish if it was for dinner or for lunch 4° write next to each dish how many meals it would last (most recipes are for 4-8 people) 5° buy all the ingredients needed for those dishes 6° be prepared for a change of plans. It worked wonderfully :)
Yes I love that! I have shared that in a video too for those that don’t want to have a strict plan! Works great too I think🧡 Just plan some meals and buy what you need and decide on the day itself what you want to eat 😄
As a German I really love to have finally found a great european channel about homemaking ☺️ Somehow it makes me feel even more connected... The problem about the bathroom... I can relate a lot 😅
De Smakelijck website van Williene is top voor leuke baksels maar dan net wat gezonder. Ze doet veel met kokossuiker en dat is ook te vervangen voor rapadura/oersuiker.
That lasagna looks delicious! And unique with the white sauce layers instead of cheese. I made a couple lasagnas yesterday for the freezer! I hope you all enjoy the extra family time with you husband on holiday!
@stephanie-algra Sister. I finished your video and giggled because, I too am baking instead of the bathrooms 😆 I'll get to them, I promise!!! Thank you, Jesus, for blessing us with the families to live in and "un tidy" our homes 😇
We have a laundry collector that is sepparated in 3 parts. So everything is pre-sorted already and I just have to take a quick look over it when I put it in the washing machine - game changer 😊
@@stephanie-algra My 4 year old is doing pretty good! Also my husband get's it right Most of the time 😂 And the Baby will hopefully learn it 😂 So It's doing a good job for our Family. I'm also thinking about adding an extra basket for the Towels and cleaning cloths
I understand that it made you sad, but I can also understand that there can be times that it takes to much for some mothers to be with their children all the time. Sometimes raising a kid is so very hard. I didn't know how blessed I was with my first three kids. It felt so good to be a mother. So much love. So much joy, my heart was overflowing. It also was sometimes hard for me to realize there would come a time that they would be all grown up and leave the house. So I definitly wanted more children. When the youngest one was 7 years old I got pregnant again. But when he was born I felt from the beginning there was something different about this baby. He had so much social and emotional problems and his behaviour effected the whole family. So I was happy that he could go to school, so I could catch some breath again. The school gave me a break of the stress. Now he is twelve years old and he is finally getting more calm and and relaxed. But it was hard to raise a kid like him. And many times it felt like a releave to have him at school, because holidays were hard days for us. I love him very much but I cried so many times in these hard years, because sometimes i couldn't feel any affection for this 'angry' boy. And that made me feel like such a failure and such a loser of a mother. It broke my heart that i wasn't sure if I still loved him. My husband said "If you didn't love him anymore it woudn't break your heart." So please don't be to hard on these mothers. You don't know what is going on behind closed doors.
@@claudiavisscher7283 Oh I can totally understand that having and raising children can be hard. And some are harder than others for sure! The point I tried to make is that children are always a blessing. These moms said in front of their children that they were ‘a burden’ (with different words) and that is not ok in my opinion. Yes we might need a break sometimes and it is good to acknowledge that on time. But that is something to a) discuss with your spouse and not another mother in public at a swimming pool. b) Never discuss in front of the kids and have them hear you basically say they are a burden. 😊
Wij doen alles in het Engels dus vandaar dat ik alles in het Engels ook deel. Maar er zijn een paar van deze boeken ook in het NLs verkrijgbaar. En er zijn wellicht anderen die wel NLse dingen delen hier of op IG?
I really liked this video! I need to try the bread recipe, it looks delicious. I usually make 3 breads at one time (this is the amount that fits in our oven 😄) and freeze the ones that we don't eat right away. And we also like potatoes from the oven, I usually make them with broccoli. Thanks for the recipe ideas!
Thank you! Glad you liked it! Usually when I freeze homemade bread it comes out a little stale. But I might have to try it again. It is a lot more cost effective to bake three at a time😊
@@stephanie-algra well, we don't like crusty bread ☺️ I even cover all the bread with an plastic bag and wait for it to cool down after its done. So it gets very soft. 😅
Of course! I use a few actually. Mostly NIV for my daily reading and with the kids, because it’s easy to read. I also have an NKJV and an ESV journal Bible that I use a few times a week. And then and Amplified Bible for more context on some verses if I want to.
I do actually read it too. But find it more difficult to understand for day to day reading. So that’s why I usually gravitate towards the NKJV, but I agree that the KJV is the most true to the original text😊
It is so hard finding women who read the KJV. Im trying to find more on here and everyone reads the other versions. Do you have a place to which we can have discussions? If you do that.
Way to go!!! Yes, please share more! You really came alive in a new way in this video. And I like your cool edits with the chopped veg and such. So encouraging to see you steward well what God has given you and to challenge yourself. ❤
Ahh thank you! That’s so kind! I love doing videos like this but I am a little hard on myself sometimes and often don’t think it’s good enough🙈 But I am doing another one this week 😁
Love this so much, it was extremely helpful to me whereas I cook frugal meals often. Please video the next 2 weeks & share with us your grocery hauls, meals & how much money you was able to save. Thanks so much for sharing, I appreciate you🥰
Leuk om te zien! Wat ik me afvraag... Hoe krijgen jullie voldoende groente en fruit binnen? Dat maakt je boodschappen het duurst. Die bananen zijn hier in 2 dagen op 😉
Haha.
Wow, I am so impressed with your grocery budget! Especially considering that you include household items like toilet paper 😮! Great video and I’m inspired to take a look at our grocery budget and try to cut back more. 😊
Thank you! I have had years of experience (unfortunately😂) to keep that budget down and once you know what you enjoy and how to make different meals with some staples, it becomes so much easier!
I love videos like these! Yes more please. I’ve never given my family chorizo or gnocchi but you inspired me! I’ll look for it when it’s on sale next. Thank you!
