What are your thoughts family? What other verses do you think suggest a Christian can lose their salvation?

You asked "What other verses do you think suggest a Christian can lose their salvation? Well, here's one. I "think" this one "suggests" if we return to sin we'll not be saved. I would love for you to "explain away" this one too, as you seem to have mastered the art of explaining away so many other scriptures that obviously refute "once saved, always saved." Here's Luke 12:45,46: "But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers." *Still "saved" anyway, Allen?*

If the Book of Life is "sealed" so that you can't get be removed, then by definition, it is sealed so you can't get in also. Believe all of the Bible or none of it.

*_Having_* the holy spirit is NOT a "guarantee" of salvation. We must FOLLOW the holy spirit! ⚫ "For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." (Romans 8:13,14) Paul had the holy spirit, and understood that even after preaching to others he could possibly return to a life of sin and therefore be rejected, a "castaway": ⚫ "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway." (1 Corinthians 9:27) And here's Peter, saying that even after overcoming sin through a relationship with Jesus, it is possible to revert to a life of sin and end up even worse than we were to begin with: ⚫ "For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire." (2 Peter 2:20-22) Yes, we REALLY CAN fail to enter His promised rest: ⚫ "Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it." (Hebrews 4:1)

Providing you're saved in the first place. Who are those who fall away? Those who depart from the faith? You have to be in the faith in order to depart from it or fall away from it. Obviously there are people who were saved and then aren't saved anymore. Some of the Galatians fell from grace. If that ain't losing salvation, I don't know what is. The gala

Hello Daria, I was in the same boat as you. Notice I said, "was." Part of the reason I kept doubting was because I didn't think I was good enough to warrant God's love and the Devil saw an opening and kept affirming these thoughts and causing more doubt. I've learned that we are not responsible for every sinful, disgusting thoughts that pops in our minds but we are responsible for how we respond to them. It finally dawned on me that Yes! I am saved and God loves me. Satan has no power over me and any doubts or thoughts that try to pop in my head I simply lay them at the feet of Jesus and move on. I've never been happier or more at peace. God is Good and Just, and he'll deliver you. Be blessed!

Physical Salvation compared to Spiritual Salvation and also salvation of the mind and life. If you cannot discern the differences then you will fall into a false Gospel that cannot save at all!

This is simply not true. While we cannot EARN heaven by PAYING there are conditions and those are that we CONTINUE abiding in Him and believing the gospel. John says this continuing in Him IS eternal life: 24 As for you, let what you have heard from the beginning remain in you. If it does, you will also remain in the Son and in the Father. 25 And THIS is the promise that He Himself made to us: eternal life.… (1 John 2:24-25) It follows that if we do not let the truth remain in us but, instead follow some false path we will no longer "remain in the Son and in the Father." Neither will we have the promise of eternal life. Like John, Paul believed that by continuing to have active faith we would inherit eternal life. So it is not about one single act of faith but about continuing in that faith until the end: …6 God “will repay each one according to his deeds.” 7 To those who by perseverance [endurance] in doing good [continually] SEEK glory, honor, and immortality, He will give [future tense] ETERNAL LIFE. (Romans 2:7)

I agree that someone cannot "lose" their salvation, and nothing can "steal" our salvation. |However, I would argue that you can willingly lay it down and walk away from it. I do not subscribe to the idea of once saved always saved for that very reason. If I choose to become an atheist tomorrow does that mean I'm still going to heaven even though I choose not to believe the gospel anymore? Will God hold my soul hostage? I would argue that no he has allowed us to make our own choices to serve him or not.

The wolf says "you're safe . . . no danger here . . . no harm can come to you." Bottom line, easy-believism's "faith alone, instantly saved, eternally secure" message DEFIES ALL THE WARNINGS provided in scripture. I'll list some of those warnings below. People need to WAKE UP because there is massive deception going on. Spiritual warfare is raging and most don't realize it. If "eternal security" were true, then there would have been no point in warnings like these: ⚫ "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned." (Jesus, in John 15:6) You must first *_be_* a branch before you can be "cast forth as a branch." And obviously we *can* be "cast forth" after becoming a branch. Jesus did not say "once a branch, always a branch." It's amazing to me that anyone could conclude you're still "saved" after being "cast off as a branch" and "withered" and "cast into the fire" and "burned." Simply amazing . . . but people will believe what they want to believe. Jesus clearly warned what would happen to servants who returned to sin: ⚫ "But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers." (Jesus, in Luke 12:45,46) "Once saved, always saved," with "eternal security"? Apparently not. Sins "all paid for, past, present and future"? Apparently not. That servant was going to pay for his sins himself. The apostle Paul had the holy spirit. Paul clearly refuted "once saved, always saved": he stated it was possible for him to revert to a life of sin and therefore be rejected . . . thrown out . . . a "castaway": ⚫ "But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway." (1 Corinthians 9:27) There's a message there for all who have been misled to believe that *having* the holy spirit is a guarantee of your salvation. We must remain in repentance, being *led* by the holy spirit (Romans 8:13,14) and "walking after the spirit" (Romans 8:1) . . . not just _having_ it and ignoring it. The apostle Paul warned that Gentile believers - even after being "graffed" into the "vine," - could be "cut off" the vine, just as the "natural branches" (the Israelites) had been broken off: ⚫ "Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, *take heed lest he also spare not thee.* Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, *if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off."* (Romans 11:19-22) If, after overcoming sin through knowing Jesus, a person then returns to a life of sin, "the latter end is worse with them than the beginning": ⚫ "For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire." (2 Peter 2:20-22) Here is another warning "if" about returning to a life of sin: ⚫ "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries." (Hebrews 10:26,27) *_Can you lose your salvation?_* Trick question, because it presumes you *_have_* salvation. However Jesus said we must endure to the end to be saved (Matthew 10:22) . . . and we have not endured to the end. Christians need to understand justification (now) vs salvation (later). Paul wrote that justification and salvation are different things, at different times (Romans 5:9). While we abide in Jesus and "walk after the spirit" (Romans 8:1) we remain in justification and are "in His goodness" or grace (Romans 11:22) -not under condemnation. While in justification we have "the hope of salvation" and are "appointed . . . to obtain salvation" as Paul wrote in 1 Thessalonians 5:8,9. We have many warnings not to fall away from justification because if we do, we'll forfeit that "hope of salvation." We'll miss our appointment to receive the promised gift of eternal life (1 John 2:25), at Jesus' "revelation," His return (1 Peter 1:13; 1 Corinthians 15:50-54; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17). Upon receiving eternal life at Jesus' return, then you will have eternal security. Short of receiving eternal life you will perish, very much unsaved. ⚫ "Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it." (Hebrews 4:1) Here's more of the many warnings not to fall away. Note the "ifs" with conditions: ⚫ "Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ." (2 Peter 1:10,11 ) ⚫ "Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;" (Hebrews 3:12-14) ⚫ "And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;" (Colossians 1:21-23 ) Another "if": we must choose to be led by the holy spirit: ⚫ "For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." (Romans 8:13,14) It IS possible to fall away, even after being made a "partaker" of the holy spirit! There would have been no point in writing the next passage if it were impossible to fall away: ⚫ "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame." (Hebrews 6:4-6) We can "fail of the grace of God": ⚫ "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled" (Hebrews 12:14,15) Our names CAN be blotted out of the book of life: ⚫ "He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels." "And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." (Revelation 3:5 and 22:19)

Context, context, context. I used to attend a church that built it's doctrine on proof texting and strongly encouraged proof texting when trying to exegete the Bible. The problem with proof texting is that you can basically make the Bible say whatever you want, you can use it to support any doctrine or teaching if you copy and paste. The Bible, especially the didactic texts must be read in the context they've been written in.
@richwheeler
@richwheeler 5 лет назад
I agree with the meaning of what you say, but I object to using the term "proof texting." Many verses can be lifted out of their contexts without changing their meanings. The problem comes when people don't first read the verses in context to make sure they aren't changing the meanings. The 20/20 rule is great for study, but having to quote 41 verses in a conversation is a quick conversation killer.

We can see here that many people will try to justify themselves by their works in verse 22, but only those who have a relationship with Jesus(which strengthens when we've been born again) will enter heaven. Those who have the holy Spirit are brought to doing good works, and convicted to repentance when they fall!:)

Also worth considering. In John 10:27 Jesus says "My sheep hear my voice; I KNOW THEM and they follow me." Jesus KNOWS His sheep. In Matthew 7:23 Jesus is telling these people "I NEVER KNEW YOU". So what conclusion should we come to? The people who are calling Jesus their Lord, and are trying to justify themselves by their works, are false converts. They were never truly converted and they never had a saving relationship with Jesus. They may have known OF Jesus, but they never knew Him in a personal and intimate way.

Jesus did *not* say "once a branch, always a branch." ⚫ Hebrews 4:1: *"Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it."* ⚫ 1 Corinthians 9:24-27: The apostle Paul clearly refuted "once saved, always saved": he stated he _could_ become a "castaway." Here's verse 27: *"But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway."* ⚫ Romans 11:19-22: The apostle Paul warned that Gentiles, even after being "graffed" into the "vine," could be "cut off" the vine, just as the "natural branches" - the Israelites - had been broken off: *"Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in.* *Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith.* *Be not highminded, but fear:* *For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.* *Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off."* ⚫ 2 Peter 2:20-22 If, after overcoming sin through knowing Jesus, a person then returns to sin, "the latter end is worse with them than the beginning." *"For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.* *For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.* *But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire."* ⚫ Hebrews 10:26,27 delivers the same warning about returning to sin: *"For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,* *But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries."* ⚫ Hebrews 6:4-6 It IS possible to fall away, even after receiving the holy spirit! There would have been no point in writing the next passage if it were impossible to fall away: *"For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,* *And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,* *If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame."* ⚫ Revelation 3:5 and 22:19 Our names CAN be blotted out of the book of life: *"He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels."* *"And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."* ⚫ 2 Peter 1:10,11 "Salvation" is not unconditional, here's another example of "if" with conditions: *"Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for **_if_** ye do these things, ye shall never fall:* *For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ."* ⚫ Heb 3:12-14 Another "if" with conditions: *"Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.* *But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.* *For we are made partakers of Christ, **_if_** we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;"* ⚫ Col 1:21-23 Another "if" with conditions: *"And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled* *In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:* *_If_** ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;"* ⚫ Romans 8:13 Another "if": *"For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but **_if_** ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live."*

Romans 11:19-20 If you continue on to the rest of chapter 11 of romans this is what is said. “And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!” ‭‭

Matthew 22:14 "for many are called, but few are chosen" that verse comes at the end of the parable of the wedding feast which I believe is a clear and direct explanation of salvation and election. I agree with you that it is possible to fall away once we come to know Jesus, after all James 2:19 tells us even demons believe, so simply believing in Jesus doesn't mean we're saved. Where I disagree is your conclusion that salvation can be lost. Paul, John, and Jesus himself reassures us that those God has chosen will never be lost because God is always faithful to His promises. I think the misunderstanding among believers and churches stems from how we define Faith or how we view salvation. Unfortunately many churches are preaching "feel good gospel" to reassure believers that we don't have to worry or put pressure on ourselves to live a Godly life, it's so much easier to comfort ourselves thinking we don't have to make sacrifices in our lives yet Paul makes it clear that the Christian walk involves daily self-sacrifice because as long as we live in this sinful world and are bound in our sinful bodies we will constantly have to battle against sinful desires...that's why we are called to endure; to say NO to sin and Yes to the Spirit of God who makes us able to endure. The repeated warnings that we receive in scripture such as the ones you referenced aren't to be taken lightly, it's meant to remind us of how important it is to understand what we've been given and what we face if we reject it, and the truth is we can reject his invitation of salvation at anytime during our christian walk and sadly we may not live long enough to get another opportunity to fully accept it...that's why we're warned to live out our faith in fear and trembling. Not all who call themselves christians will endure in Faith until the end. Many will stumble and fall away because "the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life" (Matthew 7:14). So many will come to know Jesus and call themselves christians and call out "Lord, Lord.." we may be fully convinced that their faith will never fail them but only the elect/those chosen by God will receive eternal life. These warnings aren't meant to depress us or make us feel hopeless, it's to encourage us to keep our hearts set on Christ, to repent whenever we sin and discipline ourselves so we don't fall into old patterns of behaviour and to devote our time to grow in the knowledge and wisdom of God so that we can bear good fruit and live out our faith until He returns.

Luke 12:45 is not about saved individuals who had returned to sin. You need to read it again, taking verses 35-48 as a whole. The overall lesson is a warning to be ready when Christ returns (or death comes). Verses 41-48 reveal that the degree of reward or punishment will be proportional. Those who are saved will be rewarded and those who are not saved will be punished in proportion to the responsibility they've been given. The application of the parable is that, in the Old Testament context (remember, this is pre-passion), Israel will be more accountable on the day of judgment than the gentiles will be, the Levites will be more accountable than the common Hebrews will be, and the priests will be most accountable. I appreciate the time you took to compile your proof texts. Now you need to go back and re-read every one of your proof texts, *in their textual and historical contexts*, and ask the Lord whether you have rightly divided the Word.

@@luisfilipe6253 God's promise is that if we'll come to Him in repentance - confessing and forsaking sin - we'll receive His mercy: ⚫ "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." (Proverbs 28:13) ⚫ "Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him . . . " (Isaiah 55:7) Jesus mentioned that some are able to be eunuchs (not marrying) and others are not. (Matthew 19:9-12). Paul said it is better to marry than to burn (1 Cor 7:8,9). Perhaps a wife (I'm assuming you're not married) would help cure the sexual temptations. I think that for men sexual sin/porn is probably the most difficult sin to deal with. All the visual 'stimuli' out there don't make it easy, and need to be avoided as much as possible. Ask God to help you with all that. Obviously you are concerned about your spiritual condition. So there's *hope for you!* . . . far more hope than for the many who don't care and never did care. Remember, there is joy in heaven over one sinner that repents (Luke 15:7).

What about scripture saying things like “branches being cutoff and thrown into the fire, virgins without oil being told I don’t knew you, ppl saying have we not healed sick in your name and being told I never knew you, remain in me and my love and I will remain in you", these scriptures refers to believers… and what about scripture describing the new Jerusalem as being kinda a small place? Does this not suggest ppl can loose their salvation? What about all the ministers like Ray Comfort telling ppl if they sin after getting saved then they are not a Christian and never was; they claim they don’t believe in a works doctrine but their msg suggests everything Jesus did isn’t enough if you don’t repent; committing any sin after getting saved means you never truly repented thus are not and never were a Christian… By this standard and a rational persons understanding we can never live up to God’s standards and will always make mistakes and have bad periods, so if what Ray Comfort preaches is true then what’s the point in even trying as we are just going to fail and have ppl like Ray tell us we never were a Christian to begin with. For that matter what us the point in ever praying as these same ppl say if your living with sin then God won’t answer your prayer or forgive you if you have habitual sin? Many ppl can live a very holy life but run into a time of trouble and have bad moments and according to the Ray’s of the world this means they were never saved to begin with which just makes ppl give up all hope… If Ray’s beliefs are true then it would be best to end your life right after you get saved so you don’t lose your salvation as we humans will always fail… I personally believe we are saved by grace through faith by what Jesus has done and believing his Word is true and that every believer is saved unless they fully commit to denying Jesus in which case they filed for divorce thus met the only requirement for loosing their salvation; and if you have sin in your life after converting then your life on this earth won’t be as great or as long and when you get to heaven your rewards and position will be low but you will still be saved… Hearing and reading scripture about the grace God has given to us to save us is encouraging but so so many Ray Comforts are out their preaching things that confuses and lets ppl down ppl leaving them stuck therefore not involved or trying to advance their walk in faith as what’s the point in trying if your not actually saved per Ray’s beliefs of what being is…

So true! For years I was enlightened but I didn’t accept Christ. It was an idea and I turned away. Only recently did I fully submit to God. I was enlightened and then I Finally Accepted Jesus into my life. Then did I make a decision to change my lifestyle. I was all about this world. I idolized everything. So people were proud that I threw away things that I idolized once. I’m still in the process since I was a hoarder but I’m Grateful that I took the steps. Huge for a sinner like myself.

"IF" is a powerful word in God's dealings with mankind both in the OT and the NT. We should always pay attention when God speaks about the consequences He will bring whether they are positive or negative: 21 Once you were alienated from God and were hostile in your minds because of your evil deeds. 22 But now He has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy, unblemished, and blameless in His presence- 23 IF indeed you CONTINUE in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope of the gospel you heard, which has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant. (Colossians 1:21-23) Here and in many other scriptures, God conditions what our final state will be, not on our very first STEP of faith but on our ongoing life of faith. This is not "works of the LAW" but continuing to walk by the very same FAITH that saved us in the first place. The phrase "if you continue in your faith" shows that it is possible for us NOT to continue in the faith and presents the possibility that we could be "moved away from the hope of the gospel." It also presents the danger that because of this we might not reach the end of our journey and be presented "holy and unblemished and blameless in His Presence."

5:04 tells us to read Hebrews 3 7-19. “So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness, where your ancestors tested and tried me, though for forty years they saw what I did. That is why I was angry with that generation; I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.’ So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’ ” See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end. As has just been said: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.” Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies perished in the wilderness? And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed? So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3:7-19‬ ‭NIV‬‬ It says that those who did not enter his rest were the ones who disobeyed. It also says we have shared in Christ if we hold our conviction firmly till the end. This seems to be saying you can lose your salvation. Maybe my thought is wrong but it’s hard not think that when I read those verses. Allen please respond and tell me what you think if you see this.

There was a time that I couldn't bring myself to even look at those verses in Hebrews. I was caught up in almost paralysing fear about loss of my Salvation. But, eventually, I thought.... If I even care about this, to the point of almost paralysis, then God can't possibly have given up on me.... any desire, whatsoever, for God can only come if the Holy Spirit gives it to me. These verses took YEARS for me to resolve.... because I had no understanding of the GRACE and LOVE of God and the fact the He want's NO MAN TO PERISH.... and what Jesus really accomplished on the cross. Blessings to ALL in Jesus Holy Name.

My concern is that GRACE and LOVE and MERCY mean something different to us than it does god. To god, mercy means pain and torture. Grace has strings attached and isnt a real gift, and love is like a strict father, not like how you love a cute puppy The bible says many times our ways arent like gods. god can commit endless evil and its not considered evil to him, it is good. We think things like rape and mirder are bad but god thinks those things are good. Why would they be a part of his perfect will if those actions arent perfect in themselves? Everything that happens is because of god, all "good" and "evil"

Amen. It’s not like you accidentally lose it, it’s lost by willful disobedience to Jesus’ commands. This is exactly why in John 15:6 Jesus explains what happens to us if we don’t abide or continue in Him - we are cut off and wither and are burned. Then explains how we abide in Him is keeping His commandments. It’s so clear if people would just read John 15 without their once saved always saved lenses on. Hey brother Allen, I love your content and love what you're doing! I wanted to say that I believe the second to last verse is not speaking to unbelievers, rather it's saying that one cannot experience the fullness and truth of God in Christ and fall away. So much so that if they do, it is rather impossible to bring them back to the faith because they have fully rejected God and no other revelation is left to convince them otherwise. If you have been enlightened of the truth, experienced the heavenly gifts, have experienced the supernatural existence of the Holy Spirit, experienced the wonderful presence of God, and have the understanding that this world and darkness will pass away and the new earth will come to fruition in Christ, and you still fall away and REJECT Christ, you will not come back to the faith. Its not saying God won't accept you, rather you will choose not to return and instead live in darkness. Just wanted to clear that up a bit, but let me know what you all think!

For a while I had convinced myself that I didn’t believe in him and lived in sin, despite growing up in church and being taught the word. So when I was listening to a sermon today and heard Hebrews 6:4-6, it scared me. But it doesn’t make sense to me that if I have changed my ways and genuinely love god that I couldn’t one day inherit the kingdom of heaven. I guess I’ve been searching for validation. This is true, once saved always saved. Once a person has truly been born again they will always be born again. Why? Because again once a person is born again they will always be born again. Can a child stop being the child of their parents? No disowning doesn’t make it any less true that they are their parents. They will always be their parents (I’m speaking of biological parents). Now how does someone become born again and what exactly does it mean to be born again? And why do you have to be born again? I’ll give an example of a frog. A frog could be sorry all day that it’s a frog. But after apologising to GOD for his frog ways and confessing all of his frog ways, at the end of it he’d still be a frog. In the same way sinners can’t help but be a sinner because they were born that way. So GOD in His Infinite Wisdom provided a way to become not a sinner, to be BORN AGAIN. What am I saying? A sinner isn’t just a sinner because they commit sins. They are a sinner because they truly were born that way. Every person born into this world was born with a nature to sin, they can’t help it. It’s written in their very DNA code to sin. They really and truly CAN NOT be anything else but a sinner. So the only way to not be a sinner is to be BORN AGAIN. That is why Yehoshua HaMaShiach told Nicodemus in John 3:5-7 that he MUST be born again in order to enter His, ( Yehoshua’s) heavenly kingdom. Here is what it says exactly: “Yehoshua answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto Him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Yehoshua answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.” ‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭3‬-‭7‬ ‭ Yehoshua also said this: “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved…” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭16‬:‭16‬ ‭ “…But ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬ ‭ The person that believes and is baptized shall be saved. Not just believes but also is baptized. This will make a person born again of the water and of the Spirit. This is why Peter said this in Acts 2:38: “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the Name of Yehoshua HaMaShiach for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭2‬:‭38‬ ‭ Yehoshua HaMaShiach didn’t make any mistakes,He knew exactly who He chose as His disciples/apostles and whether they’d stick with Him or not or teach and preach exactly what He meant. Now how will you know that you have received The Holy Ghost, aka, have been born again of the Spirit? The same way the Jews knew that Cornelius and his house had received The Holy Ghost: “While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues…” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭10‬:‭44‬-‭46‬ And in case you still aren’t sure, this is what Paul did and said concerning helping people become born again who only believed but had not been born again as of yet:‭ “And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, he said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on Him which should come after him, that is, on Yehoshua HaMaShiach. When they heard this, they were baptized in the Name of Yehoshua HaMaShiach. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues…” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭ This is how you become saved, born again. You will now no longer be a sinner from birth but a saved born again Christian. Beyt HaShem Ha Yehoshua HAMaSHIACH, (in the Name of Jesus Christ in original Hebrew), I pray that I said this in a way that all who read it will understand this and prayerfully also become truly born again and a true citizen of the Kingdom of Heaven Beyt HaShem Yehoshua HaMaShiach I pray Amen. “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the Name of Yehoshua HaMaShiach for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭2‬:‭38‬ ‭ Some people say they have repented of their sins, but to truly repent you have to stop doing it. Like the example I gave you. That frog will always be a frog no matter how much he tries to turn away from it because he really and truly was born that way. That frog can never stop being a frog, a sinner can never stop being a sinner unless they are born again with no sin in their genetics. So you can apologize profusely to Yehoshua and try to stop doing sin with your body but unless you can replace your DNA with a sinless one you’ll always be a sinner. There’s good news though, there’s only One Being Who can change your genetics and you’d still be you and you’d now be sinLESS and that is The True And Living GOD Yehoshua HaMaShiach. So what do you do to become born again. First you repent. Now what? The scripture I quoted above says you need to be baptized in The Name of Yehoshua HaMaShiach (Jesus Christ’s original Hebrew Name). Once you have been baptized this was you being born again of the water as Yehoshua commanded in John 3:5. And to show the accuracy of this statement here is what Yehoshua HaMaShiach also said in Mark 16:16, “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved…” Some people will tell you that baptism doesn’t save you. Well besides Yehoshua HIMSELF saying we need to be born AGAIN of the water and saying that we needed to be baptized, and also He being our Perfect Example got baptized Himself (Matthew 3:13-16), ( obviously not speaking of water from our natural birth from our mothers because He said we need to be born AGAIN as in a second time), the Bible says plainly that baptism does save us: “The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us …” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭21‬ Now what? Yehoshua also said in that same scripture that you must also be born again of the Spirit. That happens once you receive The Gift of The Holy Ghost as was told in Acts 2:38. Now how will you know that you have been born again of the Spirit(aka received The Holy Ghost)? The same way the Jews who came with Peter to the house of Cornelius did when Cornelius and his house received The Holy Ghost: “While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues...” ‭‭Acts‬ ‭10‬:‭44‬-‭46‬ ‭ This is how you’ll know that you have been born again of the Spirit and are now officially a member of the Kingdom of Heaven.

Also read Matt 13:37-42 there are tares in the kingdom and they will be taken out and cast into the lake of fire now we know the kingdom of God is the church so even some Christian's will not make it if they dont get it in order why do you think he told the 7 churches to get their stuff strait or he would remove their candlestick revelation 2 through chapter 3 and this is the word himself talking

Hi Pastor Allen Parr, I have been believing this gospel (gospel that Paul preach) for more than a decade, and significant transformation has happened in my life, and how my mind is continuously being renewed as the Holy Spirit being my teacher on how to Rightly Divide The Word on things concerning before the cross where Jesus came to Earth still fulfilling the role on a witness box as a mediator of the covenant between man and God, and After the cross where Jesus took all our nothing and made us into something, so that when our heavenly father looks at today, he looks at us and sees our new identity in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17-21) Now, we are saved by Grace through faith- Faith that we have full access to the Father (Ephesians 2:8-10) and that can never be changed. My question: The requirement is simple for a man to be saved “Believe in the Son whom He sent”(John 6:40), so up until the last days God has given us a chance to accept His Son. But how about those children growing up were they never got a chance to know His Son because their family is from other religious groups that does not unveil and uplift His Son as Lord and Savior, and it just happened that they died before their time. Are they not saved? Hope you can help me with my study, because I ask questions to myself when I study, so that when a fellow youth from our church ask me I’d be able to answer and show them the alignment between their question and God’s word. God Bless.

Let me share from the writings of Paul: "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. Hebrews 6: 4-6 and in another place he writes this: "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins." Hebrews 10: 26

For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world by [personal] knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, their last condition has become worse for them than the first. For it would have been better for them not to have [personally] known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to have turned back from the holy commandment [verbally] handed on to them. How much greater punishment do you think he will deserve who has rejected and trampled under foot the Son of God, and has considered unclean and common the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and has insulted the Spirit of grace [who imparts the unmerited favor and blessing of God]? Sin is deceitful and can lead to hardness of Heart, hence the reason we are asked to continually put to dead the works of the flesh. Yes your heart changes but your mind and body does not, that’s why you have to keep on renewing your mind and keep conforming to the image of Christ.
@bengiey2k
@bengiey2k 4 года назад
I agree with what you said except your heart is your mind and body. Everything comes from the heart to the mind and than to your body. You are already renew by God. You have to listen to God as he whispers to your heart. You still sin because the sinful nature is still there. God said you do what you shouldn't do (Sin) and the things you should do (Good) you do not do. Why? It's not you doing it. It's the sin that is in you.
@bengiey2k
@bengiey2k 4 года назад
Sin is more than deceitful. Sin is very powerful. You can not control it and you can not stop it. You have to surrender your will to God. It's not easy because you want to do your own will. It's because of your pride and ego. Sin came from pride. God said humble yourself and give your will to God. Die to yourself. Just let go and God will do it for you. Remember that you are already dead in Christ.

Another thing that people don't usually understand about the book of Hebrews is that it is talking to those people that still thought that they needed to go sacrifice at the temple. When it says that you would be crucifying Jesus again, it is using the temple sacrifice to explain that Jesus is it. There is no more need for the temple sacrifice every year. Jesus doesn't need to be sacrificed over and over again to retain your salvation.

Love your comment from 1 Corinthians 3 dealing with losing your salvation . We will lose crowns laid up if we fall back but will never lose our salvation. 1 Corinthians 3:13 But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value. 1 Corinthians 3:14 If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward. 1 Corinthians 3:15 But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. Matthew 7:21-23 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Jesus earthly ministry begins. After being baptized and led into the wilderness by the Spirit, He comes down and starts recruiting His disciples. As he's doing so people begin to follow and He goes on a mountain and starts teaching. Matthew 5 is where we get the Beatitudes I believe. Jesus is teaching repent for the kingdom of God is at hand. While doing this, He goes on to tell them what to do and not do. He tells them how shallow and hypocritical the scribes and pharisees are. He let's them know that not to have hypocritical judgment but take care of your sin problem before identifying the same thing in someone else. He talks about walking a straight path. Then He goes into works. He says you'll know a tree by the fruit it bears and trees that don't bear good fruit will be cut down and tossed into the fire. A saved person is now equipped to do good works while an unsaved person is not. Even if they do nice things they're still in sin so it's unacceptable unto God. So Jesus says everyone who says Lord Lord, we proohesied and cast out demons in your name will enter in. Christ is making the point that a person can appear one way on the outside and be different on the inside. So not every person you see doing supposed miracles is necessarily doing that of the Lord. They could be faking or could be doing it "strange arts" as the O.T. uses that term. And the scribes and pharisees felt that because they were descendants of Abraham Isaac and Jacob and following "some "of the law, they were automatically children of God. However Christ called the devil their father. So many people who look like their doing things in Spirit actually are not and are not saved. That's why the bible says men judges the outward but God judges the inward. Only God truly truly knows who's His. And there are examples of people of seemed they were of God by miracles but were not. Acts 8:9-22 9 But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: 10 To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God. 11 And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries. 12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. 13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. 14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: 15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: 16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) 17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. 18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, 19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. 20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. 21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. 22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. (He seemed one way on the outside but on the inside was not of God, but used sorcery)

Dominus Vobiscum Interpreting is not a matter of authority. It’s a matter of figuring out what it intends to communicate. We should look at things like authorship, intended readership or audience, literary genre, idioms, literary expressions etc. When I’m interpreting it, I want to figure out what it’s intending to say to those to whom it was written, and how it applies to me. For example, God told Noah to build an Ark. I can quote God’s words in such a way as to make it appear that we should do the same. Obviously, if we read the whole passage we know it was a narrative that was never intended for 21st century man to interpret it that way. Some passages are much easier to manipulate and to distort. Just as we can manipulate the American Constitution to say different things from what its authors intended, so also we can do that with the Bible.

I believe that Jesus' death was just so powerful, that it covered all sins. The sin of blashpemy against the Holy Spirit is not believing in God or Christ. And it is a state of sin, a person could reject God through and through and yet God will forgive them, but if they keep rejecting God so harshly then they will reach a stage of unrepentance, eventually it could reach a point of complete denial (another words to get to a point of complete denial and hardening is very difficult). We all have had moments where we did not believe so we have all committed blasphemy. Jesus said "i will NEVER leave you nor forsake you". (He did not say when you leave me, i leave you). When we sin we turn away from God in that moment, and we won't stop sinning until the end of our lives. Even though a husband and wife divorce they are still in a covenant in God's eyes. Just because we turn away does not mean that God turns away, if we ever committed an unforgivable sin we would not be able to feel God's presence or His Holy Spirit. Also there is the parable of the lost sheep, when the sheep strayed it was not then called dead sheep or something, it was still called a sheep even though it went away. And also the parable of the prodigle child, the child was never not a child when he went away, his Father welcomed him back again as His Child. (He was always His child). I don't believe that it is possible to lose salvation. (God is a covenant keeper, just because a married couple divorce does not mean that they are not still binded in God's eyes, cause they are still binded)

God is ALWAYS faithful. It is us human beings who break our Oaths...to God and Man. 👉Even God divorced Israel. Jeremiah 3:8. Ezekiel 16. Hebrews 8:9 KJV "and I regarded them not." 👉 "I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a ppl." Hebrews 8:10 KJV. In any AGREEMENT or CONTRACT or COVENANT, mutual fulfillment is REQUIRED. Like in the marriage btw God and believers we are expected to LOVE God w our whole hearts, minds, souls. The Prodigal Son was always a Son...but had he NOT RETURNED he would have MISSED OUT on EVERYTHING his Dad would have shared with him had he not returned to His presence. Even if I remain faithful to my husband, if he cheats on me and walks away from me HE FORFEITS my FORGIVENESS, LOVE, RECONCILIATION. 👉"COME and SEE" is the invitation consistently given...To those who OVERCOME...Whosoever ENDURES to the END shall be saved. Revelation is tge FINAL BOOK of The Holy Bible. It reveals much abt Salvation 👉Being Saved is a Process...a Journey that starts on Earth and culminates in Cashing in on The Reward. ..To Be in Physical and Spiritual Glory with God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, The Heavenly Host and all who die in Christ...by ABIDING IN Jesus, by carrying our crosses daily, eating and drinking Jesus every day we WORK OUT OUR SALVATION with Fear and Trembling. While we live we are being SAVED...For it is CONTINUOUS. Blessings!!😊

O.S.A.S. is absurd. O.S.A.S. is a licence to sin. If O.S.A.S. is true, we might as well just throw the ten commandments out the window. Who does O.S.A.S. appeal to? Precisely to people who want Jesus and salvation, but who don't want to repent of their sins.

Your straw man and ad hominem arguments are examples of bearing false witness. Talk about throwing out the Ten Commandments! OSAS is not decoupled from - distaste for the sins that condemned us - fleeing from the sins that motivated us to turn to God - appreciation of what our sins cost Christ - gratitude for having been redeemed - the desire to imitate our Father and Savior - desire for heavenly rewards - God's work of reforming us into the image of Christ - desire to remain qualified to share the gospel - respect for the chastisement that comes to God's children. If you understood the doctrine of Chastisement at all, you'd realize how bad your criticism is. You may say salvation is a gift, yet you have not died to the Law (Romans 7). I fear that you still try to earn your way to heaven rather than turning to God empty-handed and trusting His promises. Your theology has two links: trust in God, and trust in your ability to do now what you could not do before, namely, justify yourself. Both this false gospel and the false accusations toward those who believe in OSAS require immediate repentance.

12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. (Philippians 2:12-13) Why is fear and trembling associated with this process at all if salvation is already guaranteed UNCONDITIONALLY and eternally secure? According to OSAS our final entrance into the Eternal Kingdom has everything to do with our single historic decision to believe and nothing to do with whether we continue in that faith. According to the verse, having GOD HIMSELF working in us should motivate us with reverent fear to keep our focus on what God is doing in us in the present. Alan Parrs brings up a married couple's need to "work out" their differences after they have made their covenant commitment. This is certainly scriptural. The Bible itself compares the relationship of a woman to her husband to the Church's covenant bond with Christ. At the same time, Parrs neglects to mention that blood covenants are not UNCONDITIONAL. The marriage covenant requires spouse's ongoing commitment to exclusivity and loyalty. This does not mean each marriage partner is a PERFECT exemplar of what a spouse should be. However, when one of them chooses to live in unrepentant adultery, then continuing in marriage is impossible. 4 You adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore, whoever chooses to be a friend of the world renders himself an enemy of God (James 4:4) This is why we need to eliminate the things that compromise our loyalty to Christ and tempt us to turn from Him to once more serve the world the flesh and the devil. This is where the reverent fear of God comes in. The Bible says: 1 Therefore, beloved, since we have these promises, let us CLEANSE OURSELVES from everything that defiles body and spirit, perfecting holiness in the FEAR OF GOD (2 Corinthians 6:17) Marriage and adultery are mutually INCOMPATIBLE and CONTRADICTORY. I have known many couples whose marriages were destroyed because one or both of them were not faithful. It is not enough to make vows at the marriage altar. To enter full and final eternal life we must CONTINUE in our original faith all the way to the end: …21 Once you were alienated from God and were hostile in your minds because of your EVIL DEEDS. 22 But now He has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy, unblemished, and blameless in His presence - 23 IF indeed you CONTINUE IN YOUR FAITH, established and firm, not moved from the hope of the gospel you heard… (Colossians 1:21-22)

You did exactly what you thought people are doing wrong (not consider the context). Let us consider only one verse Hebrew 10:26. Read this and explain us all the verses in others words give us you understanding only of these verses (try to put away your doctrines during the interpretations). 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching. 26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?

How can you say that Hebrew 10:26 is talking about a person who is keeping rejecting the salvation through Jesus and may considered another way of salvation? where in these verses support what you said? who are put for sanctified in verse 29? If you interpret this verse like this what is the link with verse 25, 24, 23? Do not forget that originally there were no verses it was a letter if you remove the verse a read the whole paragraph, your interpretation doesn't make any link with previous verses.

Concerning the Hebrews 10:26-27. If this scripture was referring to the sin of unbelief... Why would the Bible say, "there remaineth no more sacrifice for SINS?" The sin of unbelief is singular "sin" however, the Bible uses the plural "sins" meaning more than one sin. How do you explain that?
@vincetags467
@vincetags467 5 лет назад
Hi Carllone, the context of Hebrews 10 is about the Mosaic Law on sin offering. During the time of the Mosaic Law, there are sin offerings of INNOCENT ANIMALS to God. Then v. 4 says that "it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins." Even more clearly, v. 12 speaks that Jesus by offering one sacrifice (His death). The premise of the verses before v. 26 is that it speaks about the knowledge that Jesus is the final sacrifice for our sins. Verse 26 is for those who are willfully sinning even though they KNOW (received the knowledge, only knowledge of truth, but not yet the truth that salvation is through Jesus Christ) that Jesus died for our sins. If they received the Gospel of Jesus Christ and still live a life of sin, Paul is saying that there is no other way out of damnation. When I was a Catholic, I know that Jesus is the only path to salvation (plus good works). I have received at an early age the knowledge of the truth. But it was only when I believed and not just received the knowledge of truth, was I truly saved. May the grace of God and Lord Jesus Christ be with you!

@@vincetags467 when do we not sin wilfully when we lie we do so no that verse is not saying that it is saying if a person reject the only sacrifice for sins their remains no more which means there are no other place to cleanse your sins it is not talking to someone who returns to life of sin because they can still be forgiven bit this verse is clearly saying that they are beyond salvation if they reject the only sacrifice but it is not saying that if those unbelievers at a later time believe and repent they cannot be forgiven bc of course they can be forgiven this just saying there is not other sacrifice for sins than Jesus

I believe the writer of Hebrews is definitely talking to saved believers.....So if we go back to the beginning of Hebrews Chapter 6 the author tells us exactly what they are talking about..... Hebrews 6:1-3 "Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us press onto maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2 of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3 And this we will do if God permits." So right there in Hebrews 6:1 we are told what the topic is; Pressing onto maturity... So Hebrews 6 is not even talking about salvation or one losing salvation; its talking about getting already saved Christians to grow up and obey God. And this is confirmed if we continue to read in Hebrews 6:7-8 7 For the earth which drinks in the rain that often comes upon it, and bears herbs useful for those by whom it is cultivated, receives blessing from God; 8 but if it bears thorns and briers, it is rejected and near to being cursed, whose end is to be burned. Notice in verse 8 it says it is rejected and near to being cursed; not actually cursed......and verse 12 below the author hopes that by growing up the saved Christian will inherit all God has promised them. So what he is saying in Hebrews 6:4 is that if Christians refuse to grow up; eventually it becomes impossible to get them to repent and mature...and we see that all the time with Christians who simply refuse to grow up and take the Christian life seriously.....and as a result many put Jesus to an open shame.

Hebrews 6:4-6 Basicly says that if your not being Holy, you are not saved. If you are actively being Holy then your saved. It is directly connected to being lawful to the 613 laws at least, since to accept Jesus is to not just obey the 613 laws found in Deutoronomy, but to obey EVERY word from God YAHWEH's mouth like how Ecclesiastes 12:13 suggests.

The concept of salvation is quite nuanced and up to interpretation. the biggest question is what do you mean by salvation or understand salvation to be?! salvation in my mind is an ongoing process, and that is because salvation is a spectrum of sorts. I believe the level of salvation spoken of in this video is the entrance into heaven level of salvation. However, is that the only covenant that is made between us and God? or are there higher levels of covenants that are accompanied by higher levels of salvation?!

A brother wrote after reading a post I put here answering the questions can a person lose their salvation and of course the answer is yes. The brother wrote saying he gave his life to Christ but went back to the world of sin after a month, but has returned and has been doing good, so he asked is it in vain. Here is my response to him. No its not in vain. I pray in the name of the Creator that you stay strong and remember to pray for strength. Whatever thing you may be tempted with remember the bible says that its the very thing you are able to withstand and not do. 1Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. You just have to believe it, that God will make a way for you to escape the temptation. Put on the whole armor of God brother so that you can fight temptations. Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; YOU CAN DO THIS! FIGHT!!!!!!!!! ITS NOT IN VAIN, GOD SAID WHEN HE COME HIS REWARD WILL BE WITH HIM Rev 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. The sinner will get whats fro him and the saints will get whats for them. Here is what God said by the mouth of Paul after Christ death..... Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? skip... Romans 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. skip...Romans 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. 16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? skip...Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Remember many are called but, we have to chose this life. Deu 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: We are told to choose this spiritual life which is living how God says we should live, doing what His word says we should be doing and not doing what is word says we should not do. Gal_5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. We choose this life by understanding what our sins are, and we find that understanding by learning God laws, it is the law that lets us know what our sins are. Then the law is what leads us to Christ to have our sins removed. Then we go on living a renewed life, not doing old sins again. This I am sure you know already, now you just have to pray for strength and fight with all you can muster to not sin willfully We cant be both Hot and cold, We can't be a Christian and a sinner at the same time. God said...Rev 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. God is saying that He would rather us be one or the other, choose one. Either be hot, or rather be cold, we cant be both. That is either be a sinner or be righteous, you cant be both. Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. skip... Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. skip... 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. Remember what we do after we come to Christ is important. We just cant keep living a life of sin just because Christ died on the Cross for us. How many times do you think you will keep getting away with that? The word of God says he gives us space to repent which means time to stop doing the sin. How much time do you think we get to stop? Remember tomorrow is not promised to us. The bible lets us know if you die in sin you cant repent after death so if you die a sinner you will go to the lake of fire were the fire is not quenched. Eph 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. You have to ask your self what in this life is more important than being in the future kingdom thats to come. What life style is more important than all that the new kingdom will offer those that endure to the end. 1Jn 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. The punishment of the sinner is great but the the reward of the righteous is greater. Remember everyone that has ever lived will be in the new world. The question is where will you be in the new world? In the kingdom or in the lake of fire. The choice is ours. People dont like to talk about this because they are under some delusion that the creator is not going to put people in the lake of fire because Christ died on the Cross for the sins of the world. Revelations 20 says that every one that is not written in the book of life will be cast into the lake of fire. Rev_20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Read these verses in revelations chapter 20 starting at 11 to 15 about judgment day When I am tempted with something the word of Gods law said not to do, i think to myself is doing this thing more important than being in the kingdom of God. What if I do this thing I am being tempted with is it worth going to the lake of fire and burning forever? Its all about what is more important to us. The bible said to make our calling and election sure, and this is how for sure to get into the kingdom of God. Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. Look at who is able to eat from the tree of life and that have the right to walk through the gates into the city of God. It says those that do the commandments God will be the ones that will be able to enter. This is the for sure way to get into the Kingdom of God after coming to Christ and having your past sins removed, and going on to newness of life not committing old past sins and no new sins. STAY STRONG IN THE NAME JESUS! AMEN!

@@DannyBashy Hi, that passage of scripture is a warning. You have to understand that people that have truly chosen to walk in the spirit and not in the flesh do not keep choosing to do sin, SIN IS A CHOICE!. No man is forced to sin. Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, Heb 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, Heb 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame When a person has made up their mind to truly live this life and reject all forms of sin, then it is NOT IMPOSSIBLE for that person to fall away. BUT!!!!! if by some reason they do fall away, we that may notice it are to bring that person back from that sin they may have fell into again and try to get them to stop (REPENT) before God punishes them. A PERSON CANT KEEP LIVING A LIFE OF SIN and still think they go to the kingdom God. Remember what Christ said to the rich man about what he had to do to get eternal life, and Jesus told that man if you will get eternal life to keep the commandments. This understanding is one of the most miss taught parts of the bible, because unlearned people wrongly teach pauls writings by teaching people that they dont have to keep the laws of God after Jesus death on the cross. THAT IS TOTALLY NOT TRUE!. Look who Jesus says gets to walk into the gate into the city of God at the end of the world....Rev 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. This passage is the coming of Jesus, and He said He comes quickly and when He come that His reward is with Him. And He said that He is going to give to every man according to that mans works, WHAT IF YOUR WORKS WERE CHOOSING TO DO SIN ON PURPOSE? Jesus continues to say... Rev 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. Did you see what it says? To be able to eat from the tree of life and to be able to enter into the gates of the city of God, you have to be keeping the commandments of God. So any one saying that you dont have to keep Gods laws have not read this passage in Revelations. No look at who will not be able to eat from the tree of life nor be able to enter into the city of God... Rev 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. Everything mentioned is verse 15 is sins that people do. SINNERS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ENTER INTO THE CITY OF GOD. Rev 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. Look at what the bible says about people that keep choosing to do sins on purpose ....Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully

@@DannyBashyBro as long as you are alive you can repent, its just you cant keep falling away and think the Most High will not do something. that is what Ezekiel 18: 20 to the end is telling us, it is literally answering your question. That is talking about the righteous man that turns from his righteousness and goes back to doing sin. Focus on the parts to the righteous man Eze 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. Eze 18:21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. Eze 18:22 All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. Eze 18:23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live? Eze 18:24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die. Eze 18:25 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal? Eze 18:26 When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die. Eze 18:27 Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. Eze 18:28 Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. Eze 18:29 Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal? Eze 18:30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. Eze 18:31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? Eze 18:32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.

I sometimes do question my salvation because 1 week after I gave my life to christ I suddendly wanted to quit I even said it to my mum and didn't want to pray the next day/morning because I tought i lost salvation of saying so but I said to myself I am going to continue that I was like men I am going to continue no matter what especially because I don't want my old life where I had this emptiness in myself, I also suddendly struggled with understanding the trinity for some reason(who to pray to). All this is the main reason I question

How are u so sure that is the correct interpretation of Hebrews 10:26-27?
@fracey__1511
@fracey__1511 3 года назад
Because it’s not an interpretation but it is what the bible says. The bible says what it says straight plain and simple and needs no human interpretation for even the prophets and the apostles who wrote it did not interpret they just wrote as they were moved by the spirit . One thing to know is to understand God does not contradict himself so if you feel you see some contradiction in scripture know that it is not a contradiction but a teaching that may apply to 2 different situations but using the same wording. Example flesh means body but also means characteristics of the flesh that are not spiritually rooted. So the key is to trust that God has no contradiction and to compare and contrast while reading in context with the help of the holy spirit. 2 Peter 1:20-21 20 Above all, you must understand(A) that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. 21 For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God(B) as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.(C)

By reading Hebrews 6 it makes sense of what Allen par explained. I have looked at it many times and had it explained the same way. Allen's correct.

You can't work for your salvation everybody knows that who have understood the Gospel however it does say to work out with FEAR and TREMBLING...why because if you don't and continue to sin and sin and justify sin with the help of Once saved always saved weird doctrines from hell essentially. You didn't address that Mathew 7:13-14 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 [c]Because narrow is the gate and [d]difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. What does that mean to you?

Explain this, how does one work out his/her own salvation? What should a person do?

I'm new to this so forgive me if I say something out of what everyone already knows. But if we repent. And ask forgiveness for our sins of the past and become saved... and we truly mean it but still struggle In sin but try and try and eventually do fix problems we've been having I believe we stay saved as long as we acknowledge we sin and really try and change and work at it until we stop. No one can be without sin. Only jesus. That's why he died for us. So I feel like some people on here say no you cant sin once you've been saved are saying themselves they are not saved because they have sin. And to say they do not sin would be a lie and therefore a sin. So yes. I believe once you are saved and truly want to be saved and repent of your sins and continue to admit you are a sinner and need jesus and truly follow him to the best of what you are given you will be in heaven. Now I dont believe that if you do ask forgiveness but use it as an excuse to continue to live the life of sin without repercussions you will not meet the lord on good terms. Idk. Again I'm new to this. So take it easy on me lol

I used to live in fear that eventually I would lose my salvation. No joy. People avoided me. No more. If we could lose our salvation we would, if not in this life then from Heaven. Then why did Christ bother to die? For a non existent chance to be saved? I agree with Allen.

In one of my visitations to hell, Jesus showed me a person who was a Christian (Jesus said “he was a Christian like you”). But the guy unfortunately started sleeping around (1 cor 6:9). He died middle aged and went to hell forever it was dark but Jesus lit up the area, he asked Jesus for another chance but unfortunately it was too late for him, Pretty sad, Repent and ask Jesus to help you with your struggles (James 4:7)

Some questions- Did Saul or David go to heaven?. In the book of Revelation why did God called the churches to repentance?. After God saved His people from the land of Egypt,what happen in the wilderness?. The passage in Hebrews is talking about full assurance of faith,faith that God Himself gave Christian in the first place.In the first chapter of Hebrews God the Father is talking about Jesus,so that gives the reader an idea about the book of Hebrews.

The best way to "interpret" Hebrews 6 and 10 is to accept what those passages actually say, not to reinterpret them so they mean something else. The Bible is like the Constitution, a fixed set of principles embedded in a text that must be understood in the same sense the original writers meant them. a. After reading Hebrews 6:1-4, Mr. Parr defends his belief in unconditional eternal security by noting that the verses do not SPECIFICALLY say the exemplar was "saved." Must the scriptures ALWAYS use the WORD "saved" to denote people who participate in the New Covenant? The beliefs and experiences of the Hebrews provide ample testimony that these "Hebrews" were believers in Jesus. .............................................. b. Let us look at the verses. The author first lists these people's BELIEFS. Since a FOUNDATION is the substrate upon which a structure rests these TRUTHS are more than the Greek's fascination with ideas. The doctrines, upon which the stability of their lives depended were: repentance, faith, baptisms, laying on of hands, the resurrection and the eternal judgment which will come when Christ returns at the end of the age. Are these beliefs those of unbelievers? Baptism, which means "to immerse" was not a practice in the Temple. Washing the hands and feet was an entirely different word. .............................................. c, After listing their beliefs the author turns to their EXPERIENCE. He uses words like "being enlightened, tasting", "being a partaker" which are EXPERIENTIAL terms. 4 For it is impossible for those who were once ENLIGHTENED, and have tasted the HEAVENLY GIFT, and have become PARTAKERS of the Holy Spirit 5 and have tasted the GOOD WORD of God and the powers of the age to come, (Hebrews 6:4-5) .............................................. d. "...who were once ENLIGHTENED" it is worth noting that "once enlightened" refers to a ONE-TIME experience. If these Hebrews were unbelievers who learned truths mentally it would not be stated this way. Besides this, people who are not born again are not "enlightened' and, in fact, they hate the light: …19 And this is the verdict: The Light has come into the world, but men loved the darkness rather than the Light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come into the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever PRACTICES THE TRUTH comes into the Light, so that it may be seen clearly that what he has done has been accomplished in God.”… (John 3:19-21) .............................................. e. "tasted the heavenly gift" The heavenly gift to mankind is Jesus Christ whom God GAVE to die for our sins. These people had experienced the gift of redemption .............................................. f. "partakers of the Holy Spirit" Are unsaved people partakers of the Holy Spirit? Anyone who has partaken of the Spirit is a child of God: 15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, (Romans 8:16) .............................................. g. "tasted the good word of God" Does the world enjoy the word of God? The Bible says: 14 The natural man does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God. For they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2:14) .............................................. h. Parr's thesis that the people being discussed in Hebrews 6 are unregenerate people who have heard the truth and then made the choice to turn away is false. We can see that it is so in the passage: 9 But, beloved, we are confident of better things CONCERNING YOU, yes, things that accompany SALVATION, though we speak in this manner. Alan Parr would have us believe that in verses 1-7 the author is speaking to UNBELIEVERS but that in verse 8-10 he SUDDENLY and without transition he turns his attention to believers. If there are no context clues to support this change of focus how was the reader suppose to make this jump? The answer is the whole book is written to Jewish believers. (Hebrews 6:8-10) .............................................. i. The warnings are for believers too. Just because he does not think they will abandon the faith does not mean it is not POSSIBLE. Also his confidence that they would continue in the faith was not based on a doctrine that said they would inevitably enter eternal life no matter what they did. Rather, his confidence was based on their long track record in which they demonstrated an active faith which "worked by love": 10 For God is not unjust to forget your work and LABOR OF LOVE which you have shown toward His name, in that you have MINISTERED TO THE SAINTS, and do minister. 1 John 3:20 says: 14 We KNOW that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. .............................................. j And we desire that each one of you show the SAME DILIGENCE to the full assurance of hope UNTIL THE END, 12 that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (Hebrews 6:11-12) To inherit the promises, believers must CONTINUE to in their faith, persevering despite trials until the end of their lives

You are exactly right. To get around the clear reading of this verse among others, I have heard many simply say well this verse doesn’t apply to us it applies to Jews. Even though there absolutely ZERO basis for this whatsoever, people believe them. Only problem is the author of Hebrews says if WE go on sinning. He includes himself in this verse. If it applies to the author, it applies to us. I am trying to expose the lies on my channel and am hoping some will listen and will turn away from this destructive doctrine. God bless you.
