How to Factory Reset or Powerwash A Chromebook | How to Format or Hard Reset Chromebook
Factory Reset Your Chromebook | How to Delete Documents, Pictures, Videos | How to Back to Factory Settings Default On A Chromebook
I always hated factory resetting Windows computers or laptops. You need to have backup files, lots of knowledge on computers, and totally time-wasting.
There was a time when I ruined a new Windows laptop trying to factory reset because I didn't have the proper backup or knowledge to complete the task.
But that's not the case with a Chromebook. You don't need to know anything, need any backup files, or tech knowledge to factory reset a Chromebook, also known a Powerwash. I believe even kids can do it if you show them how.
In this video, I will show you two ways to factory reset a Chromebook.
The first way offers to powerwash your Chromebook without logging in. Use Swift+Ctrl+Alt + R all together, and you will get the reset option.
The second option offers to reset Chromebook when you are logged in. Go to Settings - Advanced - Privacy & Security - Powerwash.

I have to use on my chrome book, the tab escape button and then the two arrows to move where I need to go. I’ve been having problems where I can’t get my mouse to work on the mouse pad that is built-in with my Chromebook. I have reset it nothing has worked. What do you just did I can do because it has these little blue squares that have to move to where I needed to go.

Chromebooks now have Google Play store. I do not know if school Chromebooks are any different or school admin can block Play Store.

Has google made it clear that memory is actually subjected to a format process that writes alternating ones and zeros to every word of memory? In the old way, with a hard drive on windows, the format process tested every sector with a read/write process, which provides a medium level of data erasure.

Windows 7 power wash is totally different from Chromebook. You need to have Windows operating software backup to restore operating system. For that reason, I would make sure to have proper backup and seek the help from someone knowledgeable on restoring Operating system.
