I also want to thank you for taking your time to create all of these videos. Sincerely thank you sooo much, since having no insurance or money to go to a dermatologist your videos helps a lot of people like myself.

I knew a woman many MANY years ago 😂 who suffered with deep, acne scarring (my husband has a few but he can hide behind a beard 😊) and she had a procedure done that was like sanding the face. I don't recall what it was called and the healing the process was a while. It looked scary, I won't deny but then it healed and WOW it was amazing how much better she looked. It had taken up so much visual space in her appearance I honestly didn't know what she really looked like! What a difference this made to her confidence which was the best benefit of the whole procedure. She threw an abusive husband to the curb, landed a great job and went on to enjoy a so much better life. It was astounding what a difference this procedure made in her life. I would even go so far as to say it was the best investment she ever made. I do think creams can help but if the scarring is severe I do think it's worth investing in the procedure in a derms office if it's affordable.

Hi Shereene, thanks again for a lovely video! I was wondering whether some of the products you mentioned for post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation would also work on other parts of the body. Last summer, I accidentally poured some boiling water on myself and got a second-degree burn on my thigh. It cured nicely but I now have a 20x5cm darker spot on my thigh. I’m guessing it, too, is due to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation? After getting the burn I took a lot of care not to expose it to the sun at all and then, luckily, we went into winter! But the spot is still there despite it being months since the accident happened. Any help is appreciated ❤️ PS: I love that you actually explain to us the pathophysiology of different conditions and then explain how the various cosmetic/chemical compounds work to tackle the issues 👏🏼

Please please please do a video on atrophic skin / textural scars. I’ve seen 3 dermatologists in London for a sudden appearance of atrophic scars (in the absence of recent acne) in the lower cheek area which I’ve been told could be from acne flares of 20 years ago manifested into the 50s. Very very odd. Been assured it’s not the tretinoin (+niacinimide+azeleic) formulation I’ve been on for nearly a year. Unsure if it’s the l-ascorbic acid? Or whether indeeed past acne scars can become prominent with menopausal skin changes? Such a minefield! I’d a appreciate a deep-dive. I absolutely love your educational skin videos. Don’t stop making these. You’re an absolute star !

I'm so so grateful for all your videos! I've been binge-watching them for the last fortnight and I've learned SO much! I completely overhauled my skincare routine based on your recommendations and advice, and someone already (unprompted) said my skin is looking good. I'd LOVE a video on hollowing under the eyes. I feel like as I'm ageing, my tear troughs are losing volume and it's the main thing that's bothering me. I was wondering if there are any products that can improve it. A lot of the ones I've seen are hyaluronic acid-based, which I now know is not a great ingredient.

You should check with the glass test that dr Idriss showed us if your redness is made up of pigment or bloodvessels. If the red marks are make up of pigment hydroquinone will probably work because its a tyrosinase inhobitor so it stops the production of melanin. :)

Brown skin here, now at late 30s paying the price of not using sunscreen regularly in my 20s and most of 30s. But thanks to Dr Idriss, I am now a sunscreen junkie, and my skin texture changed so much for the better. I get less breakouts than used to be. I am prone to PIH. Sunscreen, vitamin c, AHA, niacinamide and azelaic acid are staple of my skincare routine (took some time off from retinol). Redness used to be not my issue. But these days I am having red patches around my nose. The skin is sensitive too there to use actives. Even if I don’t use any active there for weeks, it’s not getting better. So, most likely not a skin barrier problem. Wondering if it’s perioral dermatitis. Thanks for the wonderfully educational content (as always).

I have been using the Glossier niacinamide + zinc serum for years and it is the BEST niacinamide serum that I have tried. The texture is beautiful: no stickiness and it absorbs quickly. It has been the only treatment I use for PIE and the 5% concentration is highly effective. I believe it's definitely worth the splurge and I always buy two bottles of it during their annual sale.

Hi Doctor Idriss, thank you for all your video, being 40, i could not believe i would still get the worst breakouts. I stopped pricking them after watching a few of your videos. I currently have i think hormonal acne that is spreading throught my entire face now. I also have black heads and white heads all over. Just sad that most of the recommended solutions are not available here in Canada. The only chance I have is to go to iherb but still has limited options. It’s hard to book with a dermatologist here and I remember when i was last there, he only spend 2 mins with me and after giving me some cream prescriptions told me that if it didn’t work then i would have to go with acutane( not sure if i spelled it right) apparently a lot of people here have gone through it.
