This video for for all the barbers and stylists who have been asking me for a full FREE tutorial on one of the most popular haircuts that I do in my shop.
Watch as I break down an easy way to do a mid-fade with a side part STEP BY STEP and give a few tips on some of the tricky areas. I am by no means the best fader out there and this isn't going to be super technical but I have found this process to be very reliable and time saving when it comes to providing my clients with a consistently clean and polished look.

3:05 - The Skin Line
4:00 - The Cutting Plane

Why can't I ever find a barber who can do a great job like this? It's so frustrating how many people out there who cut hair who can't cut hair well

What a great video, is there a chance to you, that you make the same process with a andis master? The result is the same? Because the thing that I know is that andis cut more hair without guards right?

I don’t like or comment on many vids, but you Sir are a pro. You have actually inspired me to become a barber. I love your tutorials. They are easy to follow and they are set above the rest. Thank you. Keep up the great work. I wish I lived nearby. I would definitely visit your shop. Any advice on barber colleges? There’s a Paul Mitchell MTI college close to me. I have a question please. Why use the 1 closed, then the half guard open? Why not go right to the half guard open after the 1 open? Thank you for the great video
@TwisterWizzleNineThousand
@TwisterWizzleNineThousand 25 дней назад
So first off, Matty, this video is just about the most perfect fade tutorial on the RU-vids. However, I just wanted to kindly point out that in the first half, you only faded down to a .5 guard halfway closed, but on the other side you faded all the way down to .5 fully closed. Wanted to make sure everything was even on both sides! 😂 Peace and good vibes, brotha.

@mattyconradgrooming Not to worry, my good man. I think those of us who were cutting their own hair in step with the video (or maybe just me?) figured it out fairly quickly. 😅👍🏻

Sir any tips for dandruff??
@mattyconradgrooming
@mattyconradgrooming 3 года назад
Absolutely. for slight cases I highly suggest WASH from Victory Brand... it uses gentle plant based cleansers, Super conditioning oils, and Activated charcoal as a detoxifier. Using it daily greatly reduces skin irritation and dryness.
@victorbotello1718

I notice you uses the #1 guard open to fully closed on one side. On the other side you used #1 guard open to half closed. Any particular reason for that?
@mattyconradgrooming
@mattyconradgrooming 3 года назад
I must have screwed that up in editing. I used the same process for both sides. However a #1 guard closed in theory should be the same as a .5 guard open but it almost never is... that’s why it pays to go over it again.
