If it’s on top, it’s low porosity If it’s in the middle, it’s medium porosity If it sinks to the bottom, it’s high porosity

My question too, I found that just dropping it on the water the stands sits on top of the surface not breaking the tension, but if break the tension by soaking the hair a bit, then it decides where it goes..

Basically if the hair stays at the top it's low perosity. But, if it's at the bottom its high perosity.

It will be wet when it gets to the glass of water so you can do it when wet

Wait for the shed strand of hair to dry before adding it to the cup of water. A porosity test on already wet hair would give you inaccurate results because the cuticle would’ve already been opened (at least somewhat) by the warm water and shampoo process.

@@wandacorley2251 you can put conditioner on your hair after shampooing, just not the hair you are going to use for the test. So just sit your shed hair to the side and then finish conditioning your hair on your head. 😊
