Ann Chang shows how to file and shape nails using an electric nail file (the KUPA Mani Pro Passport E-File) combined with some hand-filing to speed up your services. Instead of buffing the nails by hand, she uses the same sanding band that she used to prep the nail and a low e-file speed (around 8,000 rpm) to buff the acrylic nail. #nailsmagazine

Extremely helpful and to the point video! I wish I could’ve gained these tips at the beginning of my nail journey. I had to take a break because I got burned out from filing too hard + excessively on acrylic. Beginner nail techs, take it easy on yourself when you file these shapes and use the tips above!!

Thanx for sharing this...! I always filed without an e file... But because of health problems i need to seek for a manner how I can still do nails. So I need to learn efiling!I cant go to a course, because of the health problems, but now I can learn to efile online! And still enjoy the work and my passion: Thanx to you though!

Sorry to hear your health is preventing you from doing nails. There are plenty of great resources online for e-file training from electric file manufacturers and on our own website (www.nailsmag.com/list/topic/e-files) but we also suggest trying to find a hands-on class if at all possible. I’m a bit scared to use my e-file to file down my polygel nails because the bit ‘skips’ as soon as I attempt to do this. I guess I’m holding it wrong, wrong speed or whatever. I really don’t know but I’ve been manually filing down because of the drill bit skipping. I’m fine with filing down the bulk of the polygel when I’m removing them, just can’t seem to shape them with an e-file. I’ll try what’s suggested here with the same drill bit and so\peed and see how it goes.

Paula Koncki clean with soap & water, then fully submerge in medical grade disinfectant at least 10 mins then dry.... The sanding bit is one time use & must be disposed... Just slide it off then disinfect the metal bit... Hope this helps ☺

I do not understand why you do not mention the kind of bit yu use and/or the nail file yu use. Strange to me at least. I like that yui shw nky one nail not 10 or 20!!
