Explained very well, I think you are the only one person who clearly explained about ds160 for H1B visa, keep rocking mam. I have a doubt that if we want to add our dependents (spouse and kid) we need to create again twice for them ??? I mean after submitting or before submitting our ds 160, we can create their ds 160 and add in CGI portal, right ??? If my spouse comes on H4, can he convert his h4 visa to h1b visa by getting an offer there ???

Hello Zara, Thanks for your appreciation, It really motivates to keep providing Content from our end. For your Queries: - Yes, you will need to Fill DS 160 for all the applicants separately. - Once you have filed H1B applicant, then while filing for H4 applicant, It asks for H1B member details, and I think once you add Acknowledgement number of H1B in H4 DS 160 form, It will populates most of the details itself. - Your Spouse can get H1B, if he has any Sponsor Company who can File petition for H1B for him and then he will need to go through same Lottery Procedure. - Other way could be, once your H1B applicant Company apply for Green Card, and once that process happens, at some time, I think after 1-2 years, your H4 applicant can get EAD, so he can also work on EAD as well.

Hi mam, really great work with the detailed video. Got a lot of useful information from it. I had few queries: 1) I am applying for an H1B visa and with my previous company I had applied for a B1/B2 visa which was denied twice. What should be my answer for my current H1B DS-160 question "Have you ever been refused a U.S. Visa, or been refused admission to the United States, or withdrawn your application for admission at the port of entry" be? Should it be a NO since it is a different visa type altogether? 2) I have my spouse as a dependent, she is 7 months due, since she cannot travel initially with me for the interview, how should i approach this situation? Can I just apply for myself and let her apply later-on? Or is it necessary that she accompany me for the interview. 3) And since the visa validity is applicable from Oct 2023, I cannot answer the question "Intended Length of Stay In US" as 3 years, please correct me if i am wrong.

Hey, dude! When I completed ds 160 form I made some mistakes, I decided to complete a new ds 160 form again. I wrote to the U.S. Embassy email for expedited appointment because I will go as an exchange student on J-1 VISA, they didn't write the date of the interview. Is it okay to complete ds 160 two times?? Are there any difficulties because of double submision??

Yes you can fill DS 160 form again and and get that printed and in visa booking slot website, there is option to update profile, their new DS 160 acknowledge number can be updated ! You can also take both DS 160 filled form during time of interview

Hi Hana, We should fill DS 160 forms individually for each member traveling along so it will be 6 forms in your case. Biometric will be separate cabins except for small children. Interview in Embassy will be together for whole family

Hello Bhavin, Yes, you can file H4 for yourself and your daughter, Document required is DS-160 similar to your wife but it has to be filled for yourself and your daughter separately and you can look for interview slots for both of you. Main documents will be your marriage certificate, birth certificate for your daughter to show relationship between your wife yourself and your daughter, in addition to this all other company and job related documents which your wife carried along for interview should be carried atleast copies specially I-797. Please also carry a small wedding album with photos of few relatives in the photos also.

1. You can refer to this article for procedure for attending H1B visa from a 3rd party Country www.cmu.edu/oie/docs/visa-in-3rd-country.pdf 2. For your 2nd question here's how you can handle the travel history and employment history sections: Travel History: In the travel history section, provide accurate and complete information about your recent travel to the other country. Include the dates of your departure from and return to your home country, the purpose of your visit (such as a short-term project), and the name of the country you traveled to. Employment History: In the employment history section, provide information about your current and previous employers, including the name of the employer you worked for during your short-term project in the other country. Specify the dates of employment with each employer, your job title or position, and any other relevant details. It's important to be truthful and accurate in completing the DS-160 form. Provide the necessary information about your recent travel and employment history, even if it involves a different employer or a temporary project in another country.

In my case, I choose "Others" as Primary Occupation and in Specified Others I mentioned my Designation. 2. You don't need to put surname of Spouse, if its not mentioned in your Passport. You need to match all details with regards to your name from Passport to DS 160. 3. I think in Passport, Birth of Place is mentioned, so that can act as Proof for your spouse. Let me know if you still have any queries, I will be happy to assist.

hi Mam i have a query. The expire date of my passport is correctly mentioned in DS 160 but in CGI Profile i did a mistake and also i have booked the slot for interview. After booking the slot can we edit the passport expire date in "update profile" at CGI portal? The CGI portal allowed me to update the passport expire date and i have done and saved. Will this create any mismatch?

Hello Santhosh, You can fill the DS 160 Form again, and correct your Passport Expiry Date and once its filed, update your profile on CGI Portal with update DS 160 Acknowledgment number, that way all details of your DS 160 and CGI portal will match.

Hello, I think the F4 Category you specified, its for your Father. But now you are filing your DS 160 for F1 Visa, so nobody filed any immigrant petition. So you can just answer No.

You can apply for US visa from Dubai (at Consulate of USA) only if you hold a valid resident visa of Dubai or any emirate in UAE. Your Resident Visa should not have the expiry within three months from the date you're applying for US visa. If you're on tourist or visit visa, US consulate in Dubai won't entertain your request and you've to go back to India to apply for the same. If you are employed in UAE and a UAE resident, you have to apply for US visa in UAE. If you apply from India, chances of rejection are more as you are not staying in India and you may not be able to produce relevant documentation such as your employment details, bank account details etc.

Thanks for your kind sharing. In case of H4 visa, what should I put in the “intended length of stay in US”? I heard about H4 visa interviews that the H4 applicant should answer the interviewer that he/she will only stay for short-term. And they will fly back to their home country for their own job or family. Is this true that we should answer like this? If yes, should I put like 3 months for the intended length of stay? Yeah, mainly we dont need to show an intent that you want to stay their Longer etc. You can mainly say, I will be there to support my spouse, and once your Spouse project is over, we will come back.

Hello, Its the same process for her son as well. I am assuming your sister is on H1B visa and son will go as on H4 Visa. You simply need to fill DS 160 for her son too. Hi Razziv, You can only fill Bachelors in DS-160 also, if your employer is not aware then at the time of petition when education evaluation would have been done by third party, then also employer would have only communicated till Bachelor’s. For verification, you can check the petition files by the employer, it will also have that Education evaluation document attached. Visa officer will not have access to any other credentials except that document and DS-160 to verify so it should be fine. Please let me know if this clarifies your doubt.

Will the USCIS go for background checks to verify my all previous employment in India or they don't? 2. We should take any letter from the current employer which I am working on India as supporting document? If so what kind of letter is needed...? 3. If they ask how long you working this employer? They mean my US employer or my Indian current employer? Because now I'm working in other company... But sponsor is other company once I get my visa only I will be working for them...
