I do need to learn on how I can use it to create B Rolls for myself so thank you so much for the ideas! :D However, I also have a question about Artlist. When using the background sound effects or even music onto your own video does RU-vid consider that music copy written music? Also is there a section that Artlist registers your RU-vid account so that when using their sounds / music Artlist game you authorization to use it?

Do you recommend shooting always in HDR when using an iPhone 12 Pro Max? I use FCPX as well for my edits. What would be the best way to combine HDR and non-HDR footage in the timeline? I’ve been using the built-in HDR tool in FCPX to convert HDR videos to standard resolution but I didn’t know that you could only reduce the highlights and that’s it. What would be the best way to mix the two kind of footages? Thanks so much and keep up the great work!
Thanks Andres! Glad you enjoy the videos I create! The downside to shooting in 10-bit HDR is the file size. If you want to save storage space you can simply disable HDR. I always shoot in HDR because it captures more information and is useful for editing. For this tutorial I had footages shot in HDR and SDR. You can work with both formats by working in an SDR workspace and applying the HDR tool to each HDR clip. You could either apply a color correction or use the HDR tool to convert it, both methods work. You can then deliver the video in SDR.

Thanks for your question Robert! In this video I wanted to specifically show the viewers how to operate with standard camera because some prefer using the stock app for simplicity reasons. It was quite cloudy outside which already functions as a diffuser and would have been too dark if I added the ND-Filter.

I’ve not seen anyone use the watch as a helping tool before, seems to be useful. It’s still more expensive than a decent digital camera so not sure just that one use is worth it as an investment.
Thanks for your comment! there are certainly cheaper options out there such as using the selfie camera or using a mirror that can help you frame yourself. But if you’re considering shooting a lot of videos by yourself then the Apple Watch series 3 for $300 is a good investment since It saves you a lot of time.
Sorry newbie. How u got voice so crisspy like when u walk in your video. Behind scene u dont use mic when record use iphone. Did u use your mic like boya or rode as seperate voice for sound effect when edit?

In your opinion, is it worth using the dolby vision hdr? I saw many people saying that it doesn't pay because on other screens it is overexposed and without the color that appears on the iphone screen.
Thanks for your question Vitor. The thing is HDR helps you see videos with more accurate colors, better contrasts, and a sharper image. Unfortunately Dolby Vision isn’t yet available on social media. You can’t really watch Dolby Vision videos on RU-vid, Instagram, or any other type of social media at the moment. Also because not all devices support Dolby Vision videos can look either too bright or too dark on these platforms, so sharing them isn’t possible. I like to keep it simple at the moment and use Filmic Pro to only record in 10bit. This way i have an easier time color grading and exporting the video.

The new iPhone 13 Pro Max comes with an even better ultra wide angle lens than the iPhone 12 Pro Max. If you can’t afford to upgrade you can buy an ulta-wide lens to clip on to the built i wide lens. That should give you the best quality.

What are your export settings for 4k 10 bits HDR footage for RU-vid ? I'm starting a youtube channel about landscape photography (coming out soon ahah). Thank you so much for your comment! Glad i can help! I use final cut pro to edit most of my mobile content. I work in an SDR timeline and convert the HDR footage using the HDR tool in Final Cut Pro. In the HDR option i then select HLG to rec.709 SDR and thats it :)
This is probably a dumb/naive question, but when you lock the exposure and focus, does your frame rate decrease? I’m not sure if this is a 12 mini restriction, but I noticed whenever I lock it, it goes from 60fps (before pressing the record button) down to 29.94-30.04fps after inspecting the footage afterwards. Am I missing something or simply not understanding? Thanks again for these videos!
The frame rate does not change when locking focus and exposure. It could be that you have Auto FPS enabled in the settings which automatically reduces the frame-rate to improve low light video. Check your camera settings under record video.
