I was literally just watching this video when I decided at 2am on a Monday morning to go back outside and look for my cat again. I did a quick whistle before getting into my car and heard a cry. I was astonished to find my cat running back to me from a nearby park. I’m so happy that I have her back.

Thank you. I'm glad your cat returned home to you. One of my cats "Heba" ran off almost 10 days ago. It isn't like him to be gone for this long and he never has done this before. He is neutered so I know he probably didn't go off looking for any females. He always went out at night and always came back home. Truthfully he never really went very far away from home. We live in town so we don't have too much wildlife. I am really hoping that he is okay and that he is safe. I miss him so much and so do his brother and sister. They both have been looking for him. Heba was/is something very special. My other two are special too but I don't know there was just something about Heba. It just hasn't been the same without him. I am hoping/praying for a miracle!
@Letty Pulido Now my Tabby girl is missing as well! She went missing on Friday. She is such a good cat, and loves everyone she meets, and she also loves to be held. She shows me so much love/affectionate, and my heart is aching so badly for her! This is totally out of character for her, and she never has done this before. She is a young cat, and she is spayed. She always stayed pretty close to home. I am just beyond devastated. 😭

These precious fur babies bring so much joy/happiness to our lives. You stay strong too. I agree with you, let us both pray for each other. My dad knows a lady in our neighborhood, who is crazy over cats, and she lets them in her house. She doesn't live too far from us, so my dad is wondering, if both of our cats might be with her. She also leaves food outside too for cats. My dad said though, that she would give our cats back to us, and that she isn't like that. I sure hope she has them. My dad can never catch her at home. My heart is aching so bad! I love my cats! Tabby always stayed close to home, and Heba pretty well did too. So who knows, they may have both smelt that food outside, and ended up over there.

I heard that was a myth. But it may attract every other stray cat in the area. Besides flies and other creepy crawlies. Even if it were true you would have to stand guard over it 24/7 to see if your cat uses it.
Hi. My daughter s cat was lost for 19 days/nights. I did follow your tips in this video and it worked. I found it last night in the woods 2 neighborhoods down. I found her! She was up a tree very close to my apartment. She wasn't responding to treats or when I called her name so I had to get her down myself. If you're looking for your cat remember to look up into the trees. Thanks so much for the tips and hope!

Last year some builders came into our house while we were out. They must have left the door open while they were working, because when we got home one of our cats was missing. He was probably scared of the strangers in the house and ran away. We were terrified because we lived in a hutong (dense community of tiny houses in China) and couldn’t speak to our neighbours. There are thousands of stray cats here, so our hopes were so low. We searched the house and the streets nearby. It was getting dark when we went to the roof and started calling for him. Finally we heard a pitiful ‘meow’ in response to his name. It turned out he was trapped in our neighbour’s shed next to our house and couldn’t get out.
I’ve lost my cat and I’m so sad. I’m crying, balling my eyes out I’m so sad and I just hope that soon I’ll be able to seen him again ❤ WONDERFUL UPDATE!: I was getting my cats food ready (while crying cuz I usually do 4 but I was doing 3) When my lost cat ran in And I scream his name. Update! We found her! After 6 days of searching She was 10 houses away underneath a neighbours shed. I posted flyers to everyone in my street and surrounding streets and the very next day she was found. My British shorthair has been missing for 5 days now and it’s so painful. I’ve been searching non stop. She escaped one evening and I noticed she was gone in the morning when it was time for breakfast. I’m so hopefull she will come back.

Someone recommended watching your video and I am so happy I did. After my kitty sneaked out, I didn't realize she was gone until the next day. I had no clue what to do, your video provided the necessary tools and confidence I needed to find her. Going out at night and taking something like their treats, something smelly like tuna worked in my case.
My cat has been missing since Christmas when we wanting to bring him out on a picnic in a carrier and harness. He managed to slip out of both 2 streets away from home and slipped into the nearby apartments. We've spent days and nights looking for him around the area, made posters, put out traps, put out his litter scent. No luck. We've now hired pet detectives to look for him last week. it's been the most agonising month and a half since he's been gone and I would do anything to see my boy again, he's my first cat and my friend. We've been through so much together

It is going on a week for me.I also ebike and covered almost 100 miles looking for her.I have a trap set.Also go get an old sock and grind up some stinky tuna and sardines and cat food and hang it from a rope (inside the sock--the whole thing will stink for a large area )on a tree or 2 where animals can not get it--then put a small amount of food within 20 yards of that to get your cat back in the area.Doing this i found someone elses cat while looking for mine and just posted theirs..Ive had maybe 15 or so cats and this the third gone missing but this is the only one with no explanation.First one escaped after a move--2nd one 4 years ago was let out one night in summer which is the worse time to let pets out--I now bring my cats in at night--this last one we had guests with kids that spooked her but she has gone outside for a few hours a day since she was a kitten.Also lay a trail of food--wit that mix take a spoon and toss some of it from 2 blocks to that hanging sock to give them a trail--day 7 to 10 is usually when the most frightened cat will make some type of move to save itself.GOOD LUCK
We last saw him this morning, we've asked every neighbor online and asked a few personally, it's not like him not to come back for this long on such a hot day. I really hope we get him back 😭 he's a big, fluffy panda boy Edit: half an hour after making this comment he showed up on the deck. He's not purring, making any meows and looks like he just escaped a concentration camp in WWII but he's healthy and he's eating/drinking fine, so that's good. I got my floof back! Edit 4 weeks after comment was made: Loki is doing fine, back to his old self. He's inside sleeping a lot more than usual, he used to be always begging to go outside, now he only goes out once every few days, and that's usually when his litterbox hasn't been done in a while. He's happy, calm, cuddly, back to his old self. I love him so much

You shouldn't be letting her outside! Having a pet is no different than having a child, you are responsible for their wellbeing, and safety, and the same LEGAL standards that apply for children should also apply for pets!

@Sienna Leigh 🐈Boredom is no excuse for not doing your job as a pet's guardian and looking out for their safety! A pet does not need to be outside to prevent from being bored, that is such none sense I can't even think of a term for that! There are plenty of ways to entertain a cat, one great way is make them work for their food. I feed my cat kibble, and I make her chase the kibble morsels, that's mentally stimulating for her, and she's earning her calories, so she doesn't get overweight. Shoe laces is another great way to entertain a cat (I recommend shoe laces over cat toys, they like shoe laces, and shoe laces are virtually free.)
Tip: Download a sound tone generator for your smart phone. Create a waveform (around 8000hz worked for me), and set it to play on a loop. Now walk around with your phone and its possible your cat will mew a lot in response to the noise, helping you locate them. Worked for me a number of times finding mine in various high places.
Due to spraying our house for the pest we took our cat with us on a drive to a nearby city to my cousins house but he got scared from a a car ride and ran away. We lost him in a strange city😭😭😭 we put out traps, posts, talk to the neighbours, looked for him nights and days ‘put litter box outside, left my clothing for him, post on social media,call the shelters’ made reports with them but sighting yet 😭😭😭he was our 1st pet and a very beautiful 1 1/2 years long gray hair cat. We miss him soo much cry for him all the time. We are heart broken 💔💔💔

It's been 2 days since my cat was lost. Been finding him in our subdivision where I live, yet there's no any sign of him. But still won't give up finding and will wait for him everyday. Really love him so much. He's a very sweet cat. It feels really really sad and heartbreaking that he's not here. I wonder how he feels right now. My timid indoor cat has gone missing for 2 days now. Hes microchipped so I'm so waiting for somebody to call that they have him. I've been crying, praying, i barely eat/sleep. I put flyers and have been searching everywhere and post on multiple local lost pet forums. I've contacted local shelters and vets. The shelter lent me humane trap. I will set it up tonight. Please send your prayers Update: After 8 gruelling days Tiger returned home uninjured but very hungry. After a warm bath, feast and heaps of cuddles he's on the mend. We've double cat proof the house and Tiger is happy to be an indoor cat again. He's traumatised by even the sound of an opened door. So thankful!
I lost my cat as well. I found her by searching at night (calling her )around 11pm rather than in daylight. I read somewhere that cats will come out at night since its less active and it worked. Ironic because i searched the same spot where I found her twice and didnt see her. She was lost for 5 days and really skinny. I suggest you bring treats with you, my cat would run away from me until I gave her food. I was really sad when I lost her, best thing I could do is search for her around my houses (she wasnt far). Keep searching for the first week and if you don't find anything, maybe place her litter around your house so she recognizes the way home.
@@kcloud1186 I doubted she’d come back because I live on the 2nd floor of an apartment and she had never took the stairs up to the house before, though I knew she was hiding under a bush. Or in trash bins to eat. She sneaked out a while later and I heard her meowing under a car after I kept calling. I also wore shoes that weren’t noisy so she wouldn’t get scared. She stayed under the car when I found her and I had to grab her out. She was missing for 5 days first time found, and 3 days 2nd time I found her :)

My cat went missing for almost 2 months and some how he was found by a sweet lady over a mile away from home but she posted it and that's how we found him. Social media brought my baby back so I guess that's a very powerful tool in this case.

If an indoor cat gets out and gets under your house or the neighbors house, usually they will be too scared to meow and answer you when you call, so you could miss them even if you call under the house. You need to get a super bright flashlight and look under the house. If the cat is under the house, you can see the reflection of the cat's eyes even if they won't answer you. Also, if you suspect the cat is under a house, leave a small flashlight under the house near the entrance, with a bowl of smelly food and some water. If the cat smells the food, the light will help him know the direction to walk to. If the food is gone the next day you know that your cat is probably under the house.
@@rogielynmariscotes7373 What is your "cr"? If he is only 7 months old, why can't he see, and why can't he eat without help? Where was the last time you saw him? Did you let him outside? Could he be in the house? I don't see a cat in that condition going far. Why are his meows so weak? What has the vet said? I think he is in the house, probably not making any noise because he's sick. If he is outside, he is very nearby.

If you ever get this cat back you should never let him out again. It is too dangerous for him. When you began feeding them, did you give them milk or just start trying to give them soft food? Have you ever taken him or the kittens to a veterinarian? It could be that their little tummies were not yet able to get the nutrients from the regular food, so that is the reason they are the way they are. I think your mean neighbor may have just killed him or put him in the garbage or something. Do the vets in your area know how to kill a cat without hurting them? If these were my cats I would take them to the vet and have him put them all to sleep. They are all blind and sickly and at 7 months it is probably never going to get any better. Do not try to kill them yourselves, and if you take them to the vet make sure he has a painless way to do it. Not drowning, or anything like that. If they cat will come to the smell of food I would leave food out around your house. Some say not to do that, but I would. Otherwise I have no clue how to find him.

I lost my cat after our vacation trip. Her name is Mochi. We brought her because no one will feed her. Unfortunately she got out of the gate when we were busy organizing our stuff. She is not familiar with this place so I'm really worried. Please pray that I can see her again.
Thank you for your advice! I’m glad we only needed to go as far as step 1 and start an immediate and aggressive physical search. We found our cat within 11 hours after five scouting missions starting from 10pm and finishing at 8.30am. Believing and taking action paid off and she was found hidden behind an outdoor air conditioning unit.

Edit*** Hi!! My kitty has been found and is home now. We were contacted on Day 10 that she was being taken care of by a person who saw our flyer. Creating the giant neon posters with the basic info and her photo is what truly helped get her home. A lot of people contacted me trying to help and it was thanks to that advice is how we found her ! Do not give up! We laminated the posters to protect against the heavy rain and wind we were experiencing and it was so worth it!** It’s day 4 of my cat missing. My brother (age 24) has a cat named Nico Roben. We recently lost her yesterday. I have never seen him cry a day in my life. She was lost since yesterday but I think mom watched your video and I did to so me and my mom are still trying to find her now calmly. I made a poster when we have to but in the meantime I will just trust my mom. My experience has been flyers in mailboxes and notifying all area vets, animal control, and humane societies is the key (until I put a tracker on them). They seem to either end up at the nearest vet or, in the case of the time one of mine got stuck in a crawl space a half mile from home, a 3 year old found him.
@@pixotass I primarily use a Girafus, though I also bought a jiobit because they were the cheapest way to get location history with GPS and not need to do an annual subscription. A month was long enough to find out where he goes (he basically has 6 different hang outs, and 2 of them he only uses if I am gone for multiple days).
I lost my 1year old house cat this Christmas eve at 8pm after a visitor left the front door open. After spending hours going around a couple of streets, I gave up. After nearly 30 hrs, my neighbour suggested leaving his litter tray and blanket outside my front door. Yesterday at 6.30am he was meowing at my front door. I just couldn't believe it. He had returned safely back home by himself.

my cat is 1 year old and has never been outside by herself. she managed to get out tonight around 9pm est when we were leaving the house. thats what i think at least. i came back an hour later, not knowing she had gotten out and she was nowhere to be found. i ended up looking around my neighborhood for hours with no luck. i left her bed and some food at my side door then came to youtube and started to watch this video in my bedroom when I heard her distinct meow. i got up and bolted downstairs. the relief was immense seeing her little face. i think she got out and just hid in the bushes the whole time. she probably watched me while i looked for her. i feel very lucky.
@@Hardin9 At that time, I had taken in four strays who were used to being outside and it was impossible to keep them in. I didn’t think it was fair to only let them out. This was 30 years ago, when we didn’t know as much about the dangers of letting cats out. It was an unusually warm, beautiful day in December. All six went out, but only five came home. I was devastated.

It’s been a long time. My cat just went missing when times went rough for me. He’s so mischievous. However, this is the first time I got a cat. I really miss him. Lost/found cats and dogs is all too common. These two tips have been suggested on the Nextdoor community website for my area... 1. Place your cat's litterbox outside, and 2. Late at night when it's quiet in the neighborhood, walk your street, block or the neighborhood and call your cat's name as she/he may be able to hear you. First and foremost, make sure your cat is microchipped, or at least a breakaway collar with the cat's name and your phone number. My senior kitizen Snoozee was an abandoned stray I found sleeping under a bush in my front yard last October (2020). When I took her to the vet, it was discovered she had been microchipped which was done at the cat rescue who adopted her out back in 2008. The rescue is 250 miles from my house. How my Snoozee wound up on the streets of my city will remain a mystery. Will be sharing this video in the Pet Lost and Found section for my local Nextdoor community website.

Really good information. I set a live trap one time for a feral cat I wanted to take to the vet and the next day I checked and I caught the BIGGEST racoon you have ever seen. I let him out and his old butt just walked out like he owned the place.

@@crowkangi he got out around 3-4am and returned around the same time the following night - so about 24hrs It downpoured all day and he was dry when he came back. We think he was super close but just scared to come out.

My cat went missing when we visited ny aunt's place (he was totally unfamiliar with the place) about a week ago. Me and my cousins went searching for her but we couldn't find her. I also tried searching for her at dusk and dawn since he's awake at those hours. We had to go back to the city after a day since it was only a weekend visit. We actually saw him when we were all in the car driving out the village. He was basking in the sun near the road, was sure it was him since most cat in the village weren't full ginger and responds to his name, he was a bit dirty too. He was in a area where sugar canes were planted and near the sea, i guess he was trying to catch rats there. Sadly, we weren't able to catch him when he got scared of my sister he took off I tried to run to the other side to try and catch him but he was already out of sight. We searched again for one last time and a good drive down the road just to be sure but we weren't able to see him. We really needed to leave, would've stayed a little longer in the province if not for my finals. Until now my cousins are searching for him at that area but they still haven't found him. Am about to lose hope since it's not a province where I can go back and forth to if I wanted to find him personally plus he wasn't familiar with the place so am pretty sure he won't go back to my aunts house. I'm getting a little worried since rainy season is about to start and boy that place isn't the best when it rains. I really do hope they can find him, will try to go back and find him on my vacation if he still doesn't show up.

I always said I wasn't a cat person until I got one for my husband and son and we lose her now I miss her little bad ass. And we can't find her anywhere... update we found our cat. We got 2 more cats and the next day at about 5am my husband found her on his way to work exactly 3 houses down we had looked for her during the day time but never saw her. She was gone for a week. She left looking like Garfield and came back average weight. We are just happy to know she was alive now we have 3 cats and a dog.It's definitely worth looking 3 to 4 houses down at night or early morning

My indoor cat went missing a month ago. I feel i’ve literally done everything i could: posting signs and fliers around the neighborhood. Putting his food, litterbox, his crate and toys on the porch, we have trail cams in the woods he ran off in. We have live traps with food. We notified the vet and shelters. Have multiple missing alerts for a missing pet out on facebook and other social media and groups. I feel like at this point he won’t come home because i’m not sure what else to do.
I lost my cat 6 days ago and I already feel the same. Of course my luck my area is one of the coldest place on earth right now because of a fucking polar vortex out of nowhere.

As of 2022 july 22nd my cat has been gone for 2 days. I miss her so much. Every day, I just hope she will come back. I went out searching at night and calling her at day but to no avail. She is an indoor/outdoor cat. We let her out every night she wanted, we loved her, fed her, gave her everything she wanted and she left us like rhe heartless bastard she is. I still miss her though. I promised to myself if i ever get her back i will not let her out again. I pray every night for her to come back.
My soul and entire world went missing 3 days ago. I looked everywhere I could - I live in a jungly area with a river so it’s not so easy to look. There was no sign of my cat anywhere! My companion of 14 years, Nugget has been missing for just on 3 months now, I cry everyday and my heart is shattered, but everytime I'm searching I'm 100% focuseed and in a mind space of "today is the day Im taking her home" stay positive becuase just as you want him back, he wants to be found. I hope you're reunited soon. It's not unheard of for female cats to go missing while in heat, so if/when you get her back, I would advise getting her spayed to avoid this recurring.

Hey there Megsie, it does sound like you've done a great job so far. I think the best thing to do at this point is to keep monitoring shelter listings while keeping those social media alerts up.
I remember not being able to find my cat one day. She only meows at dinner time, so it's not like she answers, like other cats I've had. After starting to get worried, I went in the laundry where we have a large built in storage area with sliding doors. One door was slightly open and there was a basket of mixed clean washing my mother had left on the bottom shelf - I was delighted to find a happy, snoozing cat sitting on the clean socks and odds and ends 😸
Thank you. A few years ago, we adopted a cat and named her pixie. We showered her with our love but she became very aggressive and an outdoor cat. One day when I came home from school I found out she gave birth to five kitties. My dad eventually gave pixie to the shelter (he hates animals) ofc I cried all day. Then we gave 3 cats away to some of my moms friends and I named the two girls winter and summer. They absolutely hated eachother but every once and a while we’d see them cuddling. One day, winter left us without any warning. She ran off and we asked all our neighbors. Shortly after, my family gave up on her. I never did but I stopped searching for and continued loving summer. A few days ago, my baby ran out. Summer was indoor and outside cat. She wasn’t really either one of them. She always was an amazing cat. She ran out and we couldn’t find her. We’ve been searching for her since the day she went missing. It’s been about 3 days. I hope to find her soon

Mue was neutered when he was around 5 to 6 months old before he even experience mating. And some people in my neighborhood who also has cats said maybe because its been so long he started to develop some lust. Looking at his behaviors in the last 3 days before he went missing, he loves being outside so much and spend more time out than at home (but he always come back) until yesterday :'(
