Well for the digits Before Thousand placed digits it's doesn't work like you said. Lets work on an example.Say,64,982. Now Acc. to you, it's 48 (taking the 4 for 64 and 8 for 982 bcz 982 have last digit as 2 and only cube of 8 got last digit as 2 in it). But if we consider 982 as closest to cube root of 10 we get very close Answer to the almost precise Answer to the Cube root of 64,982 which is approx 41 acc to me. And Real answer is 40.2 :) Any exceptions to this trick?
