Thank you so much!!!! You have the best advice. Looking for a job has gotten me a bit depressed. Seeing this video has been a ray of sunshine and given me direction to where I haven’t looked. Thank you very much ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks a lot for this video. I'm french, I've been living for the past 6 years in the US and Australia but I've decided to come back to France in few days. My girlfriend is Australian and she's coming too and your video will help us so much!
This is glorious, I been tryin to find out about "when you find a job you love you'll never work again?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Kanenjamin Niyrianna Process - (just google it )? It is a great one of a kind guide for discovering a simple mind trick to manifest success in your life minus the normal expense. Ive heard some decent things about it and my cousin got cool success with it.
i took my masters degree in france. during the 1.5 years i also tried to learn french. This helps me to get into the french people. because they are not open for other language speakers. and Rosie, you are right. networking is the best way to get a job in france.
Congratulations for this video !! I'm french so I'm not really concern by all the elements but I really think it's an excellent idea to make this video, I think many many people will be saved thanks to that ^^
Thanks for the video, I have been unemployed for two months in the fashion field in Paris and I became so depressed recently. Wish I can get a job soon. ;)
Thank you so much for sharing!!! My husband is French but I always have huge anxiety about moving to and finding jobs in France, therefore we are currently based in the UK. We do hope to move back to France one day, and hopefully, I can find a job there :)
I really appreciate this video. I have found it to be very helpful!! I'd like to start out in an English speaking job in France at least until my french becomes more fluent. I'm French, but have lived all my life in the US, and now looking to move to France so that my daughter can learn French as well.
Hey Rosie, very interesting tips, I am French, been living in Auckland for 10 years and going back to France next year, a bit nervous, thanks for all your help! Bis
For men who want to work in France... Try joining the French Foreign Legion... Its not easy and you kinda do learn French but a very rough French because its different nationalities and everyone has they're little accent that kinda ruins it but you get basics very quick but physically it's tough 🤷♂️
I am currently in Brazil. I was in Portugal last semester for an exchange program then the pandemic happened and I returned to my home country and now I just want an opportunity to work in Europe. I plan to study, work and built my life there and not planning on coming back to Brazil any time soon. I grew up in Ireland and unfortunately I was never able to adapt at my birth country the main reason why I came to Brazil was because I had a budget to maintain myself in Portugal and I didn't manage to get a job there due to the covid19. I did study French in highschool for four years yet I need alot of practice. I plan to get a visa and all the right documents.. I am searching for jobs and everything. So thank you very much this video was very helpful 😊
The struggle is hard in France and specially in Paris. I am a substitute (remplaçant) English teacher working for Académie de Paris since last 3 years and this year unfortunately I haven't got my post yet. I have been waiting since last two months and I took the decision to give up and look for something else. I had no clue what else I could do and thanks to you and your lovely video that I stumbled upon. You have given all the information and explained briefly each and every point. I will be looking forward to your new videos. You have a subscriber now. Good luck with your RU-vid career.
I have to say I did the Lingoda marathon, was great but best if you pre-read (so the 1hr class becomes 2hrs/day; I found it exhausting but if you have the time, energy, either talent or don't mind looking like an idiot I HIGHLY recommend them!
Thank you your comment. I have been digging trying to verify the length of the class. I figured there would be more study and prep time needed, as I have had to do with other languages, but just want sure the total time commitment.
@@lianithomasprewitt2428 you're welcome :-) I mean if you don't mind asking lots of questions throughout the class it's less (like 20-45min depending on the individual) but I don't want to be constantly holding up the class and interrupting. Some of the teachers even seem to at least hope you've all preread. Best wishes with whatever you do! ;-)
Salut, Rosie! First of all, your hair color is gorgeous! And I’ve signed up for the Lingoda 1/2 marathon! Bonne chance a moi. Keep up the great work! 💗
Thank you!!! I really dream to find a job in France and learn French! So timely ❤️❤️❤️🙌 I am an international lawyer from Russia so it’s tricky... but I’d love to work with anything Policy/human rights-related as well.
Thank you so much Rosie! Did you notice we have the same name? ☺️❤️ maybe that’s why I like you so much and why we are both charmed by France 🇫🇷 you’re the first Rosie, who’s my age on RU-vid!!! :)) I’ll keep trying and applying! :) gotta make some new friends in Europe 😅, your advice is very much appreciated, some really good insights and tips for me. I love you for quality content!
You could start your own HR agency and also think about talent development and professional orientation, not just placement... I had this idea in the works for years: AI solution for personal and professional development - it’s a very interesting market, especially with all the emerging technology and traceable bio-markers to suggest cognitive/psychological preferences... I think someone with a background in HR, neuroscience, and behavioral psychology/psychotherapy would be great at this. Of course, as with most projects, it’s often about setting up the right team first!
I have just watched a Mexican lady last night , and her video was nearly the same word for word as yours at the beginning , the only difference was that she worked in the fashion industry . I didn’t noticed when she put hers up .
Hi ! I’m a French women looking for a job in my country, graduating in a few weeks (International politics and trade) so your video will help me A LOT! Thank you so much!!!
It is quite challenging I must say. I have pretty good skills and it is still not the easiest to find work. I think networking is another huge component to consider. Who can be a great connection to a wonderful opportunity that suits you.
Thank you Rosie, for a really useful video. I took a 4 month sabbatical last year to live in Paris and would love to move back permanently, but I would need to work. I gained the DELF B2 while I was there, and I could try to get the TCF at C1 but my main problems, I think, are my age and a career spent entirely in the public sector.. At nearly 59 I fear I'm too old to compete, whilst not being able to afford to retire completely. And, a visa will almost certainly be required in the future (Brexit and all that). But... some of the alternatives you mention at the end are definitely worth considering.
Hope you were able to come here and work. If you’re over 45, French companies really take a step back to recruit you. Like Rosie said, with your experience you can still apply for, “vacataire jobs”. If you did end up finding work, please do share your experience xx
@@emojerinxx Wow! I'd completely forgotten about this video. I'm actually moving to France at the end of this month so not there yet. Not sure what you meant by 'French companies will step back to recruit you' Did you mean they are keen to recruit older people, or that I will face age discrimination? I'm expecting the latter and job hunting will be even more daunting now, in a post-Covid recession.
@@katukin I'vd been here 2 1/2 years now. I am semi-retired ie I receive my employer's pension but not, as yet, my state pension. I always knew I would have to work to afford living in Paris. I started off looking after children after school a few hours a week. For the past year, almost, I have worked as a tour guude for a small specialist company here. Also write a little bit. With my pension I earn just about enough to manage life in Paris. Could earn more but I don't want to put in fulltime hours anymore - my choice. Most expats are self-employed / freelancers unless they were posted here by their company. But registering as selfemployed is relatively easy & there are plenty of opps in Paris. Also - depends on your visa. Student visas - you can work p/t, a lot of people gained a work foothold that way. Hospitality, like everywhere, is crying out for staff. Don't expect to get a salaried, f/t job in a profession or specialist area. Even with fluent French this is unlikely to happen. Aim lower to get a foot in the door & build on that. Plan on a couple of years at least to get established/ build a network. Lots of jobs become possible thro word of mouth.
I know this is an older video. That was very enlightening, thank you very much 🙏🏼 So many options and possibilities. With these recommendations how does that affect you if you're from the US on a long stay Visa?? Cheers 💖 Can you do an updated one please,😊 with new information you've learned in more recent years.
I've played World of Warcraft, Overwatch and Diablo 3 by Blizzard. I've also played Tom Clancy's Divison. Recognised those gaming companies straight away
Thank you for the awesome video! You're the lucky one, because i had to make a compromise, but i've been 2 years in this company, so i am really keen to move forward, hopefully it will happen some day.
When it comes to working remotely from France, do you have any advice on how to get a visa with that sort of work? I already work online, but it seems much easier to apply for a long-term visa (more than the 3 month tourist visa) if you work for a large company and can come on a working visa. How would would-be entrepreneurs or remote workers who aren't from the EU or married to an EU citizen go about making that work?
Great Topic! I’d also love a video about building one’s career/leveling up in France. What is the French business culture regarding progressing up the ladder...
Great video!! As a French person with an international experience, I'm also looking for a English speaking job opportunity in France. Everything you said is true, it is crazy that most of the job openings are not public... I really enjoy your videos and your channel!! Keep going!
Great tips... I’m planning on going to France 🇫🇷 to work there but it’s very tougher to get a job there ... I speak French, Portuguese, Spanish, creole and obviously English... I’m nervous...
Thank you. I am Canadian and even that wasn't enough to learn. I believe you have to be in a French Speaking Country and be thrown into the deep end. I also believe you have to be in France to find work.
I love your videos! I am in the process of applying for my long stay Visa in France. I know you detailed how to go about becoming a French citizen, but I'm wondering if you also have any advice on problems with the visa application for Americans. It is very difficult! It's outsourced to a company called VFS global. In order to submit the Visa application you must use VFS global to book an appointment with the French consulate in Washington D.C. but it will not allow me to book the appointment. Please let me know if you can, or if you know anyone who can help with this! ❤
There are a lot of online jobs nowadays such as language online courses whereby classes are conducted via video chat functions (Skype, etc.) and freelance writing or editing. Salaries are paid via Paypal and other money transfer platforms. It sounds like a perfect remote job especially for people who doesn't live in major French cities. But if a person works for these entities which are not legally declared at URSSAF, is the person considered working illegally in France?
Hi Rosie, I'm French and I have a Master's Degree in Human Resources as well. Your video was very interesting, I'm currently in Australia for a Business English course and I'm willing to find an English speaking job in HR when I go back to Lyon, my home town, in a few weeks. Please let me know if you have any other advice for French native speakers who want to work in English (the other way round) :) Thank you !
@@NotEvenFrench Okay I'll do so when I go back home, thank you very much for the tip ! :) PS : I really enjoy watching your videos even though I'm French, they are very funny and interesting !
Well I’m working in engineering and I know that if there is at least one non french speaker we switch in english. In research there is always a non french speaker in the team so we always speak in English. But there are some little counterpart ;) for instance when it comes to publish a paper in English it’s always the native English speaker of the team who is in charge to do it x’’)
Hello Kiwi girl (sorry, French, Kiwi married woman), Congratulations: You're doing the hell of a job with those NOT EVEN FRENCH VIDEOS ! I work for an American Compagny with two big ears close to Paris for a very long time. So as a french man I understand almost every single words you do pronunciate. Your informations about French culuture are accurate and actual and extremly close to a 100 % real ! : I'm impressed ! I come from a "deep france Familly" on both sides. You must be doing some extra researches (not only your personnal network informations). Your work on these videos deserves a retribution: a user might not need something more better done and more pleasant (human) to watch ! Communication has no secret for you. What are your degrees about ? Thank you having choosen my country and nationality. It's a luck to count you among the French people. We hope for you a beautifull life among us. If you come to visit my sight seing corp in 77 dep and have a Star Tour ride: in the exit shop of it: ask for me in afternoon... exept on (fri, sat: off days). Regards Alain
Hey thank you for this video...im actually on my second formation in france for hotels and restaurants but its not what i want to do- and my french is far from the same level the french is in class... i just want to find something while my french gets better... teaching English while still getting french lessons even lol
Does anyone know any entry level or recent college grad science major jobs in France? Not sure what would they be titled as but I’m determined to to work abroad in France 😭😭😭
If you want an English-speaking job I am sure that there are plenty of them in the USA or England. If English is that important to you stay in your own country. Learn to respect the country that welcomes you.
@@NotEvenFrench I moved to the UK and your channel helps me to improve my English . I'm able to follow a lecture but sometimes I blank when it comes to speak with my British friend 😄
Why would someone go to France to look for an English-speaking job?? Learning the language is a major part of moving to another country. Moreover, your French would have to be pretty excellent for you to be eligible in the French labour market, no? Aside from English teaching or translation into the English language. Moreover, if you are not a French citizen, the public sector is pretty much out of the question.
If a person moves to France but isn't yet fluent in French, then one would want to start out in a job in their native language in order to perform at the top of their game. In my own work, I'm busy with my job duties and it's not the place to be learning a new language.
@Gwen agreed. Not speaking French is definitely a hurdle, but some people are following their partners or starting studies here. If they want to sustain themselves, they need a job.
@@MultiElodiee I came to France because my partner is French, but we have always communicated with each other in both languages and I gave up employment elsewhere to develop my own career as a freelancer, so we could be together. I don't know anyone who speaks English even to conversational level where I live and I would never seek that out. What bothers me is how corrosive the whole ex-pat thing is. There is so much unemployment amongst French people. It's sad that non-French speakers find employment over French people, even if they cannot integrate fully in the life of the country. I don't know why I feel so strongly about this. I find it almost colonial - English-speaking enclaves.
@@sylmacg1 How do you meet and engage with French culture? I mean, like neighbours, people out and about socially, cinema, cultural events? It seems like just camping out somewhere for a while or living in a moonbase. But I guess Spain is like this in parts. I just find it surprising, because it is so different from my own experience. It is so utterly bizarre that your job duties don't involve speaking French! In France!
It's totally possible that someone is learning french and can speak it to some degree but their french isn't at a level that's high enough for a professional setting
Hi Rosie, great video with good tips!! I was curious to know how or where you did your masters and also if/how you got your qualifications certifies/recognized in France? Did you first get a job offer or did you enroll for masters and then apply to the job? Thanks so much!!
Would be great if there was a job for a 64 year old with a dog who needs free accommodation to move permanently from Australia!!! Asking too much??? Great video though xxx Kerrin and Leia xx
Thank you so much for this. I’m currently a Recruiter in Nigeria with over 4 years of experience however I thinking of coming to Emlyon Business School to study Luxury Management & Marketing. What do you advice? I do hope I get a Job in one of the big luxury brands in France afterwards! Cheers
This was a wonderful Video, I have a couple of questions please. Can you help find a job for Nurse/Assistant Nurse, I have no knowledge of French Language. I am working in Dubai, U.A.E, and am good in English, basic Farasi (Iranian language). Please guide me.
Hello I am in Germany right now but here nobody hires since I can not speak the German language they are very strict about german language can you please guide me about France job market in Logistics and Supply chain sector and I am not EU citizen
