@@joebidenshandler2149 I hope you had been having fun. I play on ps4 and I’m relatively new as well. It’s pretty lonely at first but once you interact with other players that’s when all the fun starts. I had so many friends who died and never had contact with again. It’s sad and almost like having a friends actually die since you can’t find them anymore.
If you can master zombie fighting 💪 and find a melee weapon just kill zombies honestly sometimes it's a pain to get food from them but they do carry food and surprisingly will keep you alive just know how to dodge there hits because your very limited on rags
Thanks for commenting Chance! I also love making a farm, really helpful and worth the time if you can do it safely. I'll keep the video suggestion in mind!
I mostly survive through eating everything I see, fishing, or completely raiding freshie farms. I like to consume everything I find that ain't canned. Normal food rots so I always eat it first. If I get desperate I have 3 tac bacons
Once I realized how easy it is to make a fireplace, I stopped wasting my time looking for food in houses and sheds and instead just find a knife, find a chicken, and get myself a hot meal that really hits the spot on those cold and lonely chernarus days.
I find fishing as a freshie the best method to survive. Takes a lil longer but completely rules out starvation especially if you a pond rather than sea. Just need rope bones long stick and something sharp.
These videos make it look so easy, longest I have lasted in this game is 3 days, I had to loot almost whole of cheborsk or whatever its called before I had enough supplies to make tracks, which I did. Then the cycle started all over again, I want to love this game but the food situation is ridiculous, apple trees with no apples, orchards with no apples, bare bones with houses, they high rises have nothing in them at all. Learned a few things on here that hopefully will help, but if I don't get that cycle nailed down or prolonged then this game is basically a food simulation with everything else that goes on in it irrelevant. People say greenhouses have food all time, nope nothing? What's the refresh rate of loot/food, is this just my bad that someone been these places recently hence nothing?
I get where you are coming from, I've been there to. I'd say try to head inland as soon as possible. Check out some of my new videos on "loot routes" and try copying the route, see how it goes for you. If you go deeper into the map you'll have better luck on food. Now I can't say I know the loot systems down to a science, but to simplify it, the loot gets re-populated in "zones" on a cycle. Finding nothing on the coast means that "zone" hasn't refreshed the loot yet.
@@Nitno thanks for the reply and further videos to check out. I only got the game this week and my pal has already given up, no Co-op vicinity spawn or party ability is poor. I belive in this game and want to keep trying think I'm like easy 10 hrs plus already but have died everytime from either thirst or starvation I have yet to die via zombie or pvp. I'm convincing my freind to keep trying and watch videos like yours, thanks for the work and effort, il be checking your other videos after work ❤️👍
@@justgaming2600 Awesome and you are welcome! Sorry to hear about your friend, stories like that are common unfortunately. Are you playing on PC or Console?
@@Nitno 👍 I'm on pc, I have ps4 Pro but I thought the pc would have been the better place to play, tbh, I did not research that, I just assumed it would.
@@justgaming2600 Awesome, yes PC was a good choice. I was just thinking you could try some other "flavors" of DayZ with your buddy, as PC has modded servers. I usually recommend sticking to a community server like ZERO or Spaggies. But if you are looking for something with traders, ReArmed is solid. I highly prefer no-traders, but if a friend of mine will only play trader servers I'll indulge them if it gets them to play.
If you manage to survive the first 30 minutes food and water are not a problem. I killed a cow yesterday, I could have supported a small tribe for several days, I had to leave most of the meat, but 7 Beef stakes take you a long way. Thanks for the guide
Haha ah got me, for a second I was like "Yes!". I also always check fruit trees now too. Maybe 1 in 10 have something. But when I do find fruit, its a victory!
Is it true that your hunger symbol is only a certain percentage of being 100% full? And on the note of the small rocks I’ve been playing for half a year and haven’t found a single rock lol…also getting used to using a controller but really do think this game is better with mouse n keyboard. Have a good new year whoever reads this👊🏻👌🙏
You make it sound so easy, love your content buddy. Hope I can be calm and collective like you some day. I just freak tf out about my food and water and can't focus lmaooo. Comes with time I guess.
Exactly, comes with time! Sometimes the stars just don't align, but most times there something that can be done. Keep on grinding at it and learning with each death!
As a new player, the issue I have most with the game is the speed at which your food and hydration levels are going down. The speed at which you can do all the things described in this video doesn't match well with the speed at which you need to drink and eat. Also, It's insane how easily you can get sick by simply walking in the cold weather or rain. The game is very buggy. It's extremely common for items to simply disappear from your inventory which is extremely annoying. I personally want to invest heavily into the game because me and my friends are enjoying the potential of it. But the game is heavily imbalanced when it comes down to the speed at which you need to keep yourself fed and hydrated vs the speed at which you can find or grow food.
Understandable. One tip I have is to not sprint at all unless you have to... this can be annoying when you know you have to travel a long distance. Running depletes food/water very fast. Stick with it! It gets better and a bit easier. Sometimes you just get unlucky a couple times in a row though.
@@Nitno I literally never sprint at all. It seemed pretty obvious early on in the game that this would depelete food and water fast. But even without sprinting the ratio simply isn't balanced at all. I've literally had moments in which I eat to get my food levels up and just seconds after eating Its already going down without doing anything. Also the developers want to make the game as realistic as possible but food is less important in real life compared to staying hydrated. But I find myself wanting to eat more often compared to drinking. Its obvious that the game requires a balancing update. Also console bugs need to be worked out. Something you're losing valuble resources from your inventory without reason.
@@Nitno unlucky 8 times in a row...found my first gun on the 5th time. Sigh I got 2 friends who really want me to play this. But it's so clunky. And I'm not sure I'm ready for the hours of needed crafting and exploring just to survive 🙃 Not sure I'm into crafting and building games...they swore it was a competent shooter as well.... Not to mention the horrible Melee mechanics. You mean I can't step back and swing st the same time? Wtf... Sigh I'm just not seeing. Especially with how clunky the inventory is.
I'll be honest I am on PC and have limited knowledge of ps4 controls. Maybe another can chime in. Possibly Have item 1 in you hands then highlight item 2 and press B? Or have Item 1 in hands, item 2 on ground, then looking at item 2 and combining?
Thanks for input, I'll give it a try! I have noticed that in my inventory, I can press X button on an item to drag it, but it haven't worked so far for some reason. And it's not any area in the middle of the screen where you can drag the items to like I've seen on the videos, (may be PC videos) So a bit confusing. I'm new to the game, and I think the official servers are pain to play. Way too hard to get food. Just tried the community server, and that helped alot, but still not too easy either
#Nitno , love that I found your channel! I'm an OG gamer, since the 85. era with ZX Spectrum, C-64... Yes, I am 41 and I started playing dayZ - love every helpful video you uploaded!
Haha! It actually works pretty well if you kind of guess the letters, it has some leeway on the spelling of the town and it will guess it for you. Sometimes the search does indeed not work if it's way off the spelling.
FINALLY! Someone who has listed the fruit trees for noobs/fresh spawns! Everybody says "check the boats!" What a waste of time! First thing everybody loots. Lol
@@Nitno I've never walked out of an orchard stand without a hand full of fruits to eat so far. Makes a quick Sprint to inland easy. Get some warmer clothes, hit an orchard for six or seven fruit both dried and fresh mixed and run for the trees and head inland for better gear. Haven't been prey for bandages for mid geared players yet. Gather and get! Lol
It's extremely annoying how quickly the character gets hungry all the time. That's why I've quit the game. I wanted to see if there is anything I have been doing wrong but it just looks like I am unable to find enough food/ have to waste way too much time to find food.
In my experience, if you dry oyster mushrooms by a fire, watch where you place them. The description says they're a bit hard but tasty, take this seriously. You can actually cut yourself by stepping over a dried oyster mushroom.
Its such a shame that the menu is a little bit of a pain on console. And that my friends dont know russian or want to download the app to find each other. This game would be so kuch more fun with my biddies
Darn :/ yeah. They did do an update, that if you respawn at the same time as your friend, you get put in the same town. have to time the respawn though.
Please don't use rags to light a fire, use barks insted. When you're collecting one bark for the hand drill, doing a full circle spin animation you got one, cut another one to create a firecamp.
I find its less hard than it is lucky, I find it purely down to luck a lot of the time, unless playing in a custom server with better drop rates for everything
Keep at it! It really does get easier the more you play. One life try out fishing, it takes a bit the first couple times, but eventually it gets real easy!
My tip: Check literally EVERYWHERE in EVERY building. Trust me, I've managed to defend myself from a man with a pistol in Kamyshovo, because he didn't want to check a crate in a garage, that had a pistol mag to his Glock, where I've managed to to find it after beating the shit out of him with CZ (this man was blind as fuck, before an encounter I found CZ-75 and a mag with 2 rounds) and a hatchet.
It's tough for sure, I can't recommend learning to fish enough though. Fishing + Cooking can guarantee food for the most part. It's just a little time consuming.
ive literally died 3 times just from dehydration. i wander aimlessly searching for a single drop of water looking through houses only finding clothing until my character literally just passes out and dies. what a shitty fucking game. looking for mods now to automatically spawn in with a water bottle or something. something other than spawning in with half hydration and no bottle nothing.
You can also get sick from drinking from water pumps; found that out the hard way. It definitely is off-putting when the majority of your time is spent just trying to find food since it runs out so darn fast.
Hmm you shouldn't get sick from water pumps, unless your hands are bloody. Maybe it was a coincidence in timing. Agreed the food thing is rough at the start, keep at it!
@@Nitno it’s not even playable for me I fell through the map once and I started taking damage even tho my hunger, water, and body temp is all fine and I can’t combine/ pick stuff up this game ain’t worth it lmao
@@trippyeditz5383 Dang sorry to hear that, sounds like a bad first experience. Maybe put it down for a bit but come back to it sometime. It does get better.
Bro you gotta get the stick then you gotta combine all this stuff just to get the string and then you gotta create the hook and then you gotta get the bait like oh my god bro it’s too much I would understand if the gameplay was super smooth and it was a good game but it’s so buggy and clunky it’s not even funny😂 this game is frustrating
man...wtf is up with movement. its like the guy has no neck or waist. like it takes a step in the direction you move your mouse....wtf why is gear and equipment so damn hard to equip and organize...did they just figure....fuck it. sorry to be negative. but im starting to feel like i wasted 50 bucks
Keep at it, it gets better! At least in my opinion. It's not for everyone. But there is a reason it still have a solid player base after all these years.
@@Nitno can you please post how to on how to use the inventory like a indepth one...what each slot is...how to remove clothing without dropping all your items. Maybe how to equip and unequip weapons while fighting? Like how do I unequip my gun while fighting so I can Melee with out dropping my gun on the ground...maybe with out having to open my entire inventory?
