We want to show you a technique that finds me Gold every time when I go to a new place I have never prospected before. I also want to see if I can find Gold faster with the old style metal pan that the " Old Timers " used or is my Garrett Super Sluice the better pan. If you have tips and tricks that you use to find Gold in new areas, we would like to hear about them, so leave us a comment below and if you like Geology videos then you will love this video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-L4wGMdZA3lg.html

Man I'd love if you were to talk and explain about all the gold from North Carolina and how it formed and came to be, geological wise. Back in the 1800s they were find gold chunks by the pounds. Mr. Reed used a 17lb. Nugget as a door stop for years before he was told how valuable it was and they began to mine it. I think a 33lb. Nugget was the biggest. They were finding so much gold Charlotte became a mint for decades because it was to much a danger to haul it to Philadelphia mint. Anyway your knowledge is outstanding and hearing you breaking it down Barney style for us here on the east coast would be the bees knees. Either way thanks for your time making vids. Much appreciated here.

I agree. I go a plastic pan over a metal pan every time. If you are panning in a cold climate your hands freeze while holding the metal pan, also the rust (that happens so fast) on the metal pan makes doing the swirl at the end a bit harder to check for gold.

Side note, if tou keep your phone in your shirt pocket, take it out, it might go swimming or lose it somewhere while digging. Mine fell out in the packaged deli meat section as i bent over, never noticing it, walked down a couple of isles went to use it for the stores food locator isle and it was gone.. I went back Super Mario Bros. Fast And saw it laying on top of packaged Ham.. People walking by never noticed it, as it blended in with the packaging. New name for phone.. Ham Killer and a new covering with florescent Colors..

Working for the DoD, Airforce Before the plastic pans.. I took my metal pan, to work I modified the pan to work 100% better by making nodifications. I showed others at work that were into prospecting how well it worked, they had theirs modified the same way.. Back then checking on how much it would cost to produce them, the cost of production outweighed the cost to buter and since the market isnt that huge, it never went to production. The plastic ones are equal or maybe better..

@@asanamericaninaustralia used shot opening to rough the surface had small riffles made and welded. Plus a stamping similar to garrets to keep the gold from flowing out of the pan ... black oxide finish process. It was brain storming of several people that created the ideas One was plated gold for a Department manager to hang on his wall. In plastics, an employee made his specialized pan out of lexan.. Of course if I had the keys to the safe, I would have helped myself to the gold bars or sheets that were stored in it. 😁

Hi. I wonder if you tried Wikieup Arizona area when going up on 131, if there is any gold. I've been there the place is loaded with bull quartz which were deposited by massive flood water. I tried to understand what happened there and it seems like the water overflowed from west side of the mountain down to east side of the hill and deposited sedimentary layers. Wouldn't that mean that I would find gold on the west side of the mountain? Because gold would have a hard time to go up the mountain... I would think that the west side of the mountain there would be a line where gold is deposited

There is a lot of places I want to sample in my area of Wisconsin. It's ok as a hobby as long as I don't sell my gold. We have Canadian glacier deposits and natural deposits displaced by the glaciers. Wisconsin is full of copper and silver. My wife loves traveling and looking for rocks, silver and copper. Wisconsin has good bedrock and it's exposed. Ice shatters the bedrock every year. Exposed new bedrock. We have lava tubes so there was geothermal activity. Minnesota has more iron and the further north you go the more iron you find. Michigan, the U. P. Has a lot of copper.

I have been prospecting in the Globe/Miami region looking for copper, silver, or gold. Do you recommend any spots in my region that I should check out?

A modest correction. The riffles on the steel Brock (1860) replica pan are corrugations not riffles and ment to lock a smaller copper pan in place for mercury amalgamation. They can't function as riffles.

I’ve learned a lot from watching this video and cannot wait to watch additional ones. Can I ask where you were panning? In which state? Also, what is the easiest way to determine whether or not a specific area has already been found to have gold. Are there any states in the Northeast known for it? I'm in NJ and have never heard of gold in the area but when I was a young girl we used to go to a dirt mountain and find all kinds of stones. I recall finding petrified wood, quartz, fool's gold and that's pretty much all I can specifically recall (it was 52 years ago!). I thought fool's gold was considered to be a marker for where gold can be found. There's a lake at the bottom of where the dirt mountain used to be. It is now a grass hill (as a 5 year old it was a mountain! Lol). There was also a ravine that flowed into the lake. My recent understanding from my mother was that the lake was actually man-made. Would it be worthwhile to at least check the ravine if it's still there? How do you know when it's absolutely useless? Where would you say the best place to check would be for a first timer? Thanks again for sharing the knowledge. It is so appreciated!

you betcha Doreen.... Northern Nevada..... check your USGS reports ....sulfides can be an indicator but not a guarantee.... yes ...sample anything that looks like a good Gold trap .... after 5 pans if no Gold then move to another spot

If you pan from one pan into the other, you can look at what the first pan dropped and the second caught. Then, you can try it the other way.

A few questions. I live in a semi rural area. The streams around me tend to be slow moving except when they flood. They go through culverts under the roads which tend to create a swampy area on the upstream side. They also go through woods where the width can be as little as 1ft cutting down from ground level up to 3ft. Almost looks like those troughs they use to float logs down to a river. Except, that being in the woods makes them bend back and forth with some turns heading back in the direction they came from. Sort of like a sink drain on its side. Where is the best place to start on a stream like that? Does the first swamp in the stream filter out all the gold?
