As if the Winter Lanterns in Bloodborne weren't hard and terrifying enough, they re-designed them to be even MORE terrifying and difficult. Definitely the most annoying mob enemy in this DLC. Thank you for this guide, man.

For the frenzied enemy you can parry it ( parry once it raises its wand not when it’s coming down ) and it becomes vulnerable to damage

One of my favorite bosses in this entire game EASILY! I love the Frenzied Flame as a concept so the fact that it finally got its own boss was just peak Elden Ring to me. I normally rage against bosses but I couldn’t against this guy. I was so hyped in this fight. Awesome boss, cool moves, cool lore, cool area…cool everything. Definitely one of my favorites now.

So Im a huge Frenzy Flame nerd, and hearing that there was a boss I got super hyped. I was gonna watch gameplay but I got maybe 10 seconds in before I was like “no, I NEED to experience this for myself.” Thanks for the guide dude, stopped watching about the point you reached the manor, super excited for the experience

This was the best boss in the dlc imo. The final boss was easily the hardest but this was the coolest and that cutscene was 🔥!!!

When going through the fog you can hug the left wall and it’s a little passage where the madness monster won’t follow you

If you have it, you should definitely wear Black Knife Armor while making this run. It makes it a lot easier with that madness Bloodborne looking thing chasing you.

for some reason the fog was white for me instead of orange and I didn’t even see the madness monster thing at all, I think it might have something to do with the fact that I was using crepus’s vial but I’m not sure

I have had more trouble locating these bosses than beating any of them. I beat Messmir early and now doing all the quests before burning the thorns

The lore implications this boss has alone

You can parry them , use golden vow and wait for the wand to reach the top of their head and crit strike em then you can attack em after that

@ConCon you can parry the madness guy in the Abyssal Woods that’s the only way ik that you can kill him is after you parry him the buckler shield makes it dangerously easy

That dungeon was a lovely cake walk, felt like running through the woods from a hatchet wielding maniac, and his friends with the fricken cannon :D just what i like to do on a Tuesday afternoon

Wearing the black knife set seemed to help get through the swamp

I actually enjoyed this boss honestly the dlc just like past souls games really upped the ante in quality with 3-4 dlc bosses already being some of my favorite ER bosses! I still have 3 left once I beat Messmer and honestly his fight is so fun especially 1 on 1 without using summons I’m having a blast learning his move sets!

4:33 when you enter the mist, use assassins gambit and run passed the enemy. It won’t notice you and you can just run by it.

The only thing I hated about these woods was the fact that I couldn't use Torrent because he was "scared". After all, for a veteran player this area is very easy, I was the monster so much so that I had eliminated every form of life from those woods including all those monsters of madness, all it takes is a good parry and they become vulnerable and appear rather weak. Furthermore, after killing them they no longer respawn even when you resting at grace

you can actually avoid that ‘madness’ enemy in the thick fog by hugging the wall to the left consistently. it’s standing by a large tree, and you simply slip the other side of it :)

BTW if you wear crepus vial talisman or black knife armor you can sneak around the left of the frenzy enemy and completely avoid him

use the bloodfiends arm w/ blood affinity on this guy he staggers in 3 charged heavies and makes the fight light work

Miyazaki really showed how great of a game dev he is with the mist part

You can attack the eyeball monster by parring it, it is the only way to defeat it

For the enemy you can't fight there is a thing close right behind him you can walk on and it goes over him kinda

Bro their are two of them and I get stunned and grabbed. :)

Pro-tip: you CAN fight the invincible enemies in the Abyssal Woods. All you have to do is parry their grab attack and then counter-attack them. I recommend having LOTS of madness boluses on standby-they gradually get your madness meter up and once you’re fully afflicted, they’ll just OHKO you with one move. This is not easy at first as there’s a lot going on but there’s always a Stake of Marika or a grace nearby so plenty of opportunities to do some trial and erroring

TIP: Use the blackknife assassins armor to not get detected by sound. Or the Crepus's Vile talisman

Black Knife set and concealing veil should get you through

For the enemy that drives you mad you can just sneak behind the tree it is at and skip it

You have to get hit then parry the next incoming attack to kill the new npc overlord

You can kill the frenzy people by parrying Thier grab attack

You can parry the guy in the mist

You can just hide in the bushes like intended for the guys

Was honestly underwhelmed playing the dlc and then came across this section and it definitely redeemed it. The whole section sneaking through the woods and then going inside the manor and fighting this boss was fantastic. This shouldn’t have been tucked away.

I love souls games, I do, but having to look shit up and NOT BE SPOILED as you do it is a special forces-tier task. And its always some damn arbitrary invisible wall, or arbitrary cliff edge that had a platform or random door you missed that keeps you running in circles hoping you don't have to cave and enter spoiler town to find your way. But here I am, spoiled of everything but at least I know where I'm going, ty.

He was pretty easy to be honest i defeated him in my second try. The woods were harder😂
