noticing everyone on the public where i hunt in missouri goes to the hardest spots in the park thinking "im gonna outwork the next guy" using the same escout and podcast advice and wind up on top of each other and now the biggest buck on the land fell opening day opening morning next to the parking lot.

Same here seemingly in WI. Theres just so much pressure now it covers the gambit from parking lot to the inner most holes of a property.

@@zimmejac741995 it's just gotten to be a tougher facet of hunting now when you're competing against other hunters instead of the animal you're hunting. especially for a new hunter like me, but thats also kind of cool and challenging part of it. but when the parking lots full of meateater and hoyt stickers i know its gonna be a long day

yep, same thing in CO...you go in fairly deep and/or over big ridges only to find other hunters trying outwork each other, now the ante is upped and we are all in TOO deep...ever try carrying an elk out from too deep?

@@RegularGuysOutdoors gorgeous county out there. i think the secret access points title of the video is smart and maybe a lesson to be learned from that. i hunt a public land 1000 acres inside of larger wildlife area so i was obeying all laws when it came to parking on the side of the road, staying only to parking lots and walking the mile or so down the road to access land but now that i think about it most of the guys dont give a crap about the parking lot rule and what im realizing now is those are the guys getting secret access points and probably have slightly increased odds because the average hunter obeys laws in regards to parking.

@@MadeSportsEntertainment I often see a locked gate and a "road closed" sign, so I park and walk, but the tire tracks going around the gate tell me many others do what they want. Do you see that too?

Rivers and creek crossing here in gator land can be a bad idea.

hike in with a compass bearing, run that bearing in as far as you can. then just follow it 180 degrees out or add or subtract 10 degrees to aim off left or right.

I love how you don't want to follow head lamps in, then show them how we get away from it, and now with on x maps we're screwed. Thanks for nothing. Wth
