How to Find the Right Journaling Bible for Bible Journaling 

This!! I didnt even know this was an actual thing... I just have always called it 'Bible Doodling!' Started doing it in 4th grade (1978!!) with my United Methodist Confirmation Bible!! Oh my GOSH... I'm so excited that I'm not a weirdo... I'm a trend setter!!! I cant believe this! My mom owes me a HUGE apology for the MANY LECTURES I was forced to sit thru regarding my doodles! Haha!! WOW... just wow!

I have studied different versions of the Bible having been Mormon, deeply searching and then Greek Orthodox. But journaling in the Bible? I am an art journaler and am obsessed with your videos.🤩

I just “happened” upon your channel. I was actually binge-watching videos on Bible journaling supplies. I have a NKJ journaling Bible that I was for painting in mostly in the margins. But I’ve always wanted an NLT journaling Bible that did not have pre-printed pictures in it. I’m seriously going to look in to that one !!!

I want one to start journal on for my son who is turning 18 this year and to give to him as a keep sake in the future. What would you advice? Note that I also understand the NIV version.

Ok, I thought I had a lot of Bibles. I thought I was the only one addicted,😁. I like the illustration Bible just wished they had it in NKJV. To my understanding, word for word often means the sentence construction is more true to the original but can flow less well in the English. Thought for thought seem to often have a more current sentence construction. However, you raised ESV as an example of word for word and that's pretty easy reading. I think people would benefit from knowing about the history of the 2 sets of ancient manuscripts and the fact that the kjv and nkjv come from a much more numerous body of texts with high consistentcy vs all other teanslations from a much smaller body of texts with a lot of inconsistency. I expect you have a separate translations video, which hopefully covers this.

I have looked for a teen boy version of the Inspire bible and not be successful. Anyone have any suggestions?

Other questions might be 1. Is this my only Bible, for journaling, everyday reading, take to church, study. Or, are you just going to do your journaling in this Bible I’m like Tracy, I have lots of Bibles. Smaller Bibles that I take to church Various Study Bibles with notes The Message Bible for reading. Interleaved Bibles. One I use for studying and I just take notes on the blank pages. I have others that I art journal on the blank pages. If it bothers you to write in the Bible, get an old Hymnal, art journal, even a composition notebook or loose leaf notebook. The main thing is to spend time in the word and record your thoughts and/or insights somewhere. In art or in words I date everything. When I flip back through my Bible, it is easy to remember what God was teaching me in each passage. Hopefully, I can see how much I’ve grown.

The only translation is dislike is the amplified Bible. I’ve heard verses where the meaning is completely changed in the amplified Bible. I feel the KJV language makes you really concentrate and think about it whereas an NLT version makes you feel like you can just immerse yourself. I like the Bible in a year idea but they All start with Jan one instead of Day one which stops me getting them any other time of year. I got really lucky because I found a journaling Bible on sale which was good because I’m not good writing in books. It feels disrespectful. At least I didn’t waste $100 on one if I can’t bring myself to mark it. Lol. I wonder if there are comparison bibles, like the message verses next to the NIV verses so you can read and study at the same time, esp for beginners. That would be cool!
