How To Find Your Style 

step 1: have money

I've found my style after covid-19 ! And now I'm still in the process of buying, timeless items that I can wear again and again.

Tim's videos are always are always minimal, elevated and comfortable

My sense of style is nothing like yours. I went a completely different direction and for things that suit my body type more. I ended up moving towards military jackets, rugged, lumberjacky with an emphasis on wools. the reason I say this is even though we are completely different, I would have never discovered my sense if it wasn't for discovering you a few years ago. It might seem simple but those videos of you talking about essentials while using one or two pieces as highlights to a certain outfit provided me the fundamentals to better understand what works and how to incorporate it to my own life without feeling overwhelemed. I could go on for hours and max out this comment, but I really wanted to say thank you Tim because while i'm still learning about fashion every day, you are the youtuber I had discovered whose sense of fashion wasn't tied to suits (and things that people in their mid 20s barely wore) and that in itself had a huge influence in my life. So thank you again.

Tim, you mentioned something toward the end that I think is the biggest key of this whole video: fashion grows with you. For years I'd beat myself up for not sticking to one style or meandering to different styles, and in recent months I realized that it's not only okay to experiment, but it's okay to change. My style for years at this point has been what I call "street minimal." Oversized but clean/tonal silhouettes rooted in timeless pieces like plain white tees, jeans and sneakers. I also like that you pointed out that mood boards and saved content can point you in the right direction, because chances are if you find yourself gravitating toward a similar aesthetic over and over, that's where your subconscious is pulling you. Excellent video Tim! I love the concept you put forward - starting simple by encouraging people to really visualise what they want and how each piece would fit into a functional wardrobe before even buying anything.

The more you think about this video, the more it makes sense. Like how filling in the gaps in your wardrobe with pants is a good way to force yourself to define the scope of your style. I'm really glad that you mentioned your personal style is something that's subject to change over time and the suggestion to periodically reevaluate it. I remember coming across a thread on r/malefashionadvice with someone asking what are some styles that you've grown out of. The one response that really stuck me though is someone saying that they don't think they'll ever 100% fully outgrow a style they used to like but rather put it on the backburner and try to revisit and evolve it in the future.

I’ve already been doing pretty much what you said in the video for a bit of time now. But that was such a great video just such a high production value and a great summary of how one can find a personal style. Keep it up✌️✌️✌️

Tim's channel is the reason I start to build up my own fashion sense, same to my own self-esteem after knowing about fashion

i feel that one of the ebst ways to expand style is to pick out a "costume" it lets you disassociate with the clothes you buy and if there is something you feel more comfortable with you have a new piece that is different from something you'd normally buy.

I am not into fashion or anything and i've been buying plain black clothes only because it's the safest choice but something was missing.and it was the FITTING. Then this year I came across this street wear thing. I came to like it because of how comfortable it is. like the oversized shirt fitting and it looks cool. the best part is the sneakers. I did not imagine I would one day collect jordans and nike dunks sneakers which I have not heard of until this year.. It felt like a transformation.

I just came acros this video and it sounds like its perfect for me! Im 30 but been struggling to find my style for my entire life. When i like something i get insecure and just wear a simple basic shirt with jeans almost every day. Id love to find something that i could wear at work during the day but which has an edge and i could also wear at a metal concert the same night.

Another awesome and very insightful video! I'm finding my style to be a bit more difficult to articulate. I really gravitate towards more of an old money/classic aesthetic but I also really like elements of a more rugged look and a bit of streetwear thrown in if it's done correctly.

Can I just say that, as a graphic designer, I LOVED the "choose your character" format you used to introduce different styles! I had to go back and compare the stats for the ones that I wear most (looks like Smooth Minimal and Dark Mode are coming out on top of Mr Brightside).

My style is western and workwear type stuff. Levis carhartt and wrangler. With some cowboy boots. Stylish and can be worked in.
