In this video we ended up getting a phone call for a pump job just miles from where we poured out that morning and we would be crazy not to take it, so Elye and Lane tackled the pump job while I took on the slab. Enjoy!
I’ve done concrete for 40 years done many buildings like this it’s a key way for the metal building to sit down in three things. I would do put a lot of great steaks make sure the slump is it a seven and plenty of beer for the end of the day after cat walking everything
Man I hate those kinda days. Had the same weather all week in nc I still ran flake just incase this happened but I understand your situation by reading the comments about getting stuck and having to grab a pump. Keep up the hard work bud
Nice work! I did a garage floor with a two foot frost wall in one pour. It was about 10 x 20. 6 yards just me and the concrete truck driver but he was cool. My forms were good so it was like filling a upside down bathtub. I had a good book called Masonry and Concrete Work by Max Alth. I have done two more since. All in cooler weather so that bought me some time with the finish work.
Its not setting up because there is a vapor barrier beneath it. The water has no place to go except up. Any time we pour over vapor barrier we put 2 inches of sand on top.
That's 3 guys. The most I've done by myself in one day and I mean all by myself was a 13 yard patio with 2 steps all seamless Roman Slate texture stamped with borders and bands. Only me.
That's the 1st thing I thought when I saw the video...this video is like clickbait. I've poured lots of these all by myself...no help, only me. I've poured lots of large areas of concrete alone...if patios, I always get a line pump for fast placing. Some guys don't know how to work with concrete...meaning fast and efficient. Stay strong brother.
Well that's pea gravel for Arkansas its typically 1/8in to 3/8in sifted river rock from our local rivers.. which I find is typical for most concrete plants around the states. I do here about some states having more aggressive mixes and I guess yours is one of them lol in that case I would just pump 3/4 rock all day.
We use to but we sold it. Excavator is way better for concrete work in my opinion. You can grade and dig footers and what not. Kinda limited with a skid steer.
