How to Fish with Potato Pellets

In this episode I show you how to fish with Potato Pellets as your hookbait for carp. This video should be viewed in conjunction with last weeks video where I showed you how to prepare potato pellets along with the chicken layer pellets which I use as loosefeed.
These baits are very cheap compared to shop bought pellets, so for those of you who need effective baits at a fraction of the cost, these could be your go to baits for the future.

Great little bait! I get and commonly use 15oz cans of sweetcorn from Aldi (in the US) for less than $.50 per can... effective and easy... I might try this out for a change of pace, but can easily flavor the corn as well... So, we’ll see. Thanks for the post, the clear instructions, and your sharing the knowledge and passion of fishing!

Very brave with your video camera so close to the edge with all that action. Interesting video. I’ve got to switch to pellet on my new venue when I’ve always fished my own home made boillies.

Thats a Bostin idea Den. The humble spud, cheap as chips( what pun🤔) great stuff. Im out on Wednesday on my local pond. I'll let you know if the tench & crucians are playing the maris piper or crowning the King Edwards. Tater for now.🐟🪱🎣👍

That was just what I needed Den An enjoyable 15 minutes fishing What a lucky guy to have a lake like that to your self and so close to home Do you make your potato pellets just for a fishing session? I don’t expect you would be able to keep them too long

Hi Alan. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I make my potato pellets up the evening before fishing and use them the next day. I have never tried to keep them any longer, but I think you should be able to freeze them. I might try that soon.

I think I just kept them in sealed containers overnight Andrew. This video is some years old now, so I'm afraid I can't remember exactly what I did.

Of course the fish in there will feed more readily as you're the only guy who fishes it & they'll be Hungry most of the time - I'd like to see how the Potato pellets fish on more Pressured Commercials please!!

Is that potato cooked before you made these pellets or is it an uncooked potato ?

It's uncooked. I just take them out of the bag, slice them and punch out the pellet sizes I need.

Its a common misconception mate. The nearest Crocs to me are much further North. I would estimate at least 1000 miles away.

@@FishingwithDen ha ha must be lol watched a few videos they are good i have herd of using potato the ones i use float do you fish the bomb? if so get a punch or a peice of pipe and sharpen the end make some apple pellets and dye em and put em and flavor and freeze em they go like popups i recommend using the lasso hookinks for em

@@FishingwithDen they still float but they are hard when you freeze em and leave em to thaw on the bank they go soft but still float if you dont freeze em they go brown but if you colour em and freeze em they will stay that colour let me know what you think if you remember
