Very informative, but it would have been really helpful for a silicone sealant novice like me to have seen the part where the new sealant was applied in close up and in slow motion. I know it's the expert that makes something like this look easy and effortless!

Nice job, I hate those thin bowed plastic panels! One point though, quite often access under the bath is required.. in which case a few Button-fix Type 2 would sort that out, as long as water ingress isn't too much of an issue.

There's usually a top lip that fits under the bath edge, you could leave the sprung fixings in place then. Silicone makes a neat finish though.

That’s very good job but if you need to remove for possible leaks they have to be made accessible

So it is secured in place by silicone only .no vertical battens at either end. some fixings on it securing it to something is the way to go.

Would Button-fix have worked for this project? Just thinking in terms of accuracy, speed and the fact you could then replace your bath panel or access the pipes more easily/

I came here to see how to fix my bath panel on without screws ruining the look.. Cheers.. I didn't sit my flat like that though, I tucked mine under the lip of the bath so water can't get under it 😊

Acrylic bath panel are so so BAD fitted MDF panel from Screw Fix £45 and the difference is unreal

Yes, the silicone holds it in place so you don't need any screws. It also stops any water from going under the bath panel.

Nice job , but it's a pity you used that no nonsense silicone to finish off as it is shite , always use Dow Corning for a good quality finish , it's double the price but worth it.......👍

What was holding the panel at the top?

Silicone up the side's, and along the top. Some MDF panels will have a lip that hooks under the bath. There's no force pushing outwards so even a small amount of silicone will hold the panel in place.
