As someone who machines new door slabs into original jambs on site for a living, I want to say you did an excellent job. The Doors look great! Not sure if you're familiar with him or not, but a great resource for hanging doors in Gary Katz's book "Installing and Hanging Doors" and his DVD's which he recently has posted on RU-vid, "HANGING A NEW DOOR IN AN OLD JAMB, Prog. 9, With Gary Katz" and "INSTALLING PRE-HUNG DOORS, Prog. 10, with Gary Katz". He's been teaching finish carpentry for decades. If you haven't read or seen his videos I would highly recommend them. There's no other resource that comes close to them in my opinion. Keep up the good work Katie. I'm always amazed at your versatility and your clear and informative explanation.

Thanks for the reference. I think the issue I was finding with videos was that I was looking specifically for hinging a new jamb and a new door. While most of the search results were for one or the other. I realize the process is similar, but I basically was looking for a jig design to do both, and just ended up making my own.

Great jig worked perfect, love the look of the French doors and will look forward to seeing the video of their build, I assume the doors will be finished with oil or something similar that will definitely give them that wow factor 👌👌👌👍👍👍🇦🇺

Nice jig. I own the porter cable hinge template jig. Love it. It can mortise hinges 3"-6" and doors 1 3/8" - 4" thick. Your jig looks great!!

Thanks! I did think of buying a jig. But, I really don’t make doors often enough to warrant the purchase. I have heard they work great though.

Yeah, I agree with your decision. I finally bought mine when I got a request to change all the doors into a house(32 doors). We kept the jams just installed new doors. Really worked out good. Your jig was great too.

Such a pleasure to watch. I think I've had more nightmares with hanging and adjusting doors than anything else so the full length jig is a great one to build even for one-offs. Thanks for explaining it so well. I look forward to seeing it installed in place if that's possible?
