I have a backpack zipper that split up top and not at an end and when I tried to "button" the teeth they split and fell off and I know have a non-functioning $100+ (off sale price on sale price it was about $85 laptop backpack). The split occurred as I was zipping it closed and one tooth was slightly out of alignment. Can and the teeth wouldn't center and fit back and 12 are missing in total from both sides in the middle of it! HELP!
It's helpful if you have small binder clip of some sort that holds/keeps the zipped/buttoned teeth together, once you have buttoned the teeth together. My bag had completely unzipped, so I had the main compartment to button back together.

I am trying to figure out how to repair a metal zipper on a camper awning bag. In several places, the teeth have pulled apart and I cannot get it to open. I don't think the teeth are damaged, they just didn't connect properly.
My metal zipper doesn't have problems stopping; it has problems joining the two sides of the teeth together. No teeth are missing. It doesn't seem to work even when I back it up and start over. The zipper is on a fanny pack that is maybe about 2 years old. What do you suggest?
THe zipper to my backpack isn't broken like that. The metal "handle" that you use to pull it up and down is completely broken off. Not only that, but its a double zipper and both are broken. What do I do? They aren't off the track, just broken.
if it is the tab that has broken, you can buy a new one or use a safety pin or a bit of cord put thru the hole the tab went thru on the zipper slider. if it is the slider that is broken, you need to buy that part. zipper parts are avail in general sewing stores and at many web sites.
That's close to my situation. The slider is only on one side of the zipper and the other some of the teeth isn't on the tape. And it's towards one of the corner edge
I just got given a new backpack for my birthday, the zipper doesn't close the bag properly as when you do zip it up it's not closed or the teeth will separate at the start of the zip itself. I can't return it because it's too late ): HELP
Will you send me images of the bag and how the zipper is stuck? Most often, I would just reverse the slider so it comes off the flap. It's might be stuck on pretty good, so you may need to use a dry silicone spray to loosen the slider off the fabric. You can send images to hyrum@ucanzippers.com

I have one of those anti theft backpack and zippers are usally attached to each other. Well one side came off and the zipper is on the other. (Like if u are taking off your jaket and when u un zip it, it will go to one side) so my backpack is like that. Please help
Sometimes you do have to shorten a bit to make a repair. Not too much, but enough to give you easy access points to get the slider back on. The alternative is to unstitch the zipper, make the repair, then sew it all back together. So you can choose which you want to do.
