Thanks for the step through to uninstall! I found two drivers named the same. Once I uninstalled one, it was fixed. My mouse cursor (wireless mouse and trackpad) kept drifting fast across the screen in one direction. Right clicking on options was very hard, I reduced the cursor speed to a very low setting and navigated menus via keyboard to uninstall the mouse. So glad it worked!

Plugged in a USB mouse to stop the wandering pointer cursor in order to check driver updates and allow windows to continue all their security and windows updates. Still unable to disable the finger pad from being used. I did clean the finger pad thoroughly with 91% rubbing alcohol, which appears to have helped as well. Thank you very much for your video.

In my case the solution was as simple as disconnecting the traditional mouse ( = connected with a USB wire) that I had on "just in case..." So two input devices were conflicting? (Mac OS, Logitech Unifying receiver & M280)

It started happening to my mouse a couple updates ago. I bought a new mouse, same problem, bought another mouse, same thing. I'm wondering if it's a window issue? After that update I noticed I have to turn my volume way down low because everything is playing much more loudly and my mouse seems super sensitive. It just keeps popping on like it's moving when it's perfectly still. Sometimes when I put my computer to sleep it wakes up right away because the mouse wakes it up. Cleaning made no difference.

my mouse moves on its own erratically mostly going to the top left corner of my screen sometimes opening files or doing unwanted commands and i keep playing around to bring it back where i want and fight with it, then it stops doing that for a few mins then does it again it has been happening more frequently and getting worst, i tried everything from uninstalling and updating drivers and playing with mouse settings etc it seems like every video thinks its a mouse problem but could be something else, done full pc scans twice and nothing showed up so idk what to do anymore maybe im looking for the wrong titled vids to fix this perhaps its not "wandering mouse" but something else im not sure how to explain it in order to search for the problem can you pls help?

restarting has temporarily helped me. changing the wireless mouse transmitters from one usb port to another helps sometimes. I've updated drivers and uninstalled the mouse and made the changes suggested under pointer options. nothing seems to help yet. I did just try one new suggestion here which I've seen elsewhere and that's modifying the mouse speed. Hopefull, that helps. I'll say this it's very hard to change any options in pointer options if your mouse is drifting as fast as mine does.

Hi there I was wondering if you know how to fix a laptop with a slight burn mark. I think it was a battery discharge and I think it burnt out, idk and I wish I could ask you personally like a full on conversation somehow since you seem to know your stuff. I feel like this tiny burn mark has destroyed my motherboard completely- the display won’t work and I’m not sure how to get this fixed.

For those solely using a Mac trackpad (not a mouse), it very well could be that water droplets have leaked into the trackpad. Even water from your fingers (say, after washing dishes or handling a wet glass when drinking) will cause this issue. The Mac needs to be vacuumed (while computer is switched off and while trackpad is pressed down), cleaned with a lint-free cloth, then left to dry out for a day. In most cases, this will solve the problem. And even though 'Ask A Computer Geek' didn't touch upon trackpads, in fairness, water, like dirt, can contaminate and confuse the cursor. Hope this helps.

My cursor tends to go crazy and move and repeatively click everywhere, i kiterally thought somebody is clearly hacked me and using my laptop just to annoy me , ive done the adjusting the pointers and speed ect, applied it and it fixes the problem for around 15 minites then its back to its old tricks, i thought it could be the mouse, so i unplugged the mouse and only used the touchpad, does the exact same thing, does that mean my laptop is defective? It runs smoothley apart from this, im not sure wheather to try get a replacement or will it just have the same problem, HELP

Taking control of the mouse. i have the same problem with unwanted mouse movement. I made the following change in Mouse Pointer settings. 1. Select mouse pointer speed. - move slider all the way to the left. This slow down the mouse dramatically. Adjust slowly towards the right a little bit. 2, Move Pointer to default button in dialog box - user choice. 3. Hide pointer while typing - user choice. 4. Show location of pointer when I click CTRL key - user choice. These steps worked for me; they should work on any Windows platform. The main thing is reducing mouse movement speed. Hope this helps.

I need help with my laptop, so basically when i play games while my charger is pluged in, the games run very smooth for at least 5 minutes, and then suddenly the game gets very laggy and stuttering. However when i disconect my charger the games run smooth again, but when i connect my charger again the problem comes back. I have tried changing the maximum and minimum processor in power plan but the problem still not fixed. Help me please😢😢😢

HI...can you plz help me with this... my BIOS detected that my internal battery capacity is reduced(laptop is 2 years old...HP pavilion)...it started to turn off at 50% or 60% battery...i ran some tests with the hp dignostic tool and it said that battery state was weak and was at a point that it was useless. but...a twist...after some days the battery issue sorted out...but then a new issue rose...my laptop (even having 30%) won't start without the charger...when it turned on, it did show 30% and i used it till 10% and it again shutted down. Again i changed some settings but it didn't go ...like just to turn it on i need to plug in the charger for some seconds then i can remove it. Is it due to the low ambiet temp. or something as it is winter's time.Plz its a humble request ..sort this.

Mine kept installing them even though the fix worked day after day it seemed. Then I bumped the tower and boom, two new mice, so I fixed it and deliberately bumped it again...sure enough two more mice! I had been building my own computers for years in the same old tower. Replacing the tower fixed it but I believe it was just dirty/loose "stuff" (likely usb ports or wires) that was the real culprit. Probably just cleaning and tightening connections would have worked, or replacing the usb ports (they were out of date anyway) but the new tower is pretty.

Razer Chroma Every so often the issue pops up where the cursor will jump up about 2.5 cm on the screen when moving the mouse. Sometimes it becomes a constant issue. I found that 1) allowing Windows to do its updates and 2) allowing 'Razer synapse' to update always fixes the problem. Eventually it always returns, which signals its time to finally stop postponing my updates XD Once I had a hair that just happened to be lodged on the opening of the optical eye. -- I always find it weird that expensive gaming mice can have this issue while basic ones never do ... -- I noticed that my 'Black Widow' keyboard also occasionally has a key that gets stuck in software and repeats until I unplug and replug the keyboard. Probably that's also the very same issue. -- Currently I use a 'Corsair' keyboard which doesn't suffer from this type of issue ... yet very rarely it will fail to be detected when the computer comes out of hibernation; which requests a physical unplug and replug of the device.

I bought an HP desktop (Win 11, intel core i3 10th Gen, 256GB SSD, 4GB RAM) last week hoping that it would solve the issue of my other HP Desktop PC disconnecting intermittently from the internet (hardwired connection). I've been having this issue since I moved to my new house last year. The issue didn’t go away and this new PC acts fast but still disconnects intermittently from the internet as well (hardwired connection). I was told that I needed a 1GB ethernet adapter or PCI (i think they’re the same thing), but it’s hard to believe that my brand new computer is already having issues. This problem occurs both on a hardwired and wireless connection. I had also bought a Samsung Galaxy Book 2 and it also had trouble connecting to the domain name server at times. I have a Netgear Nighthawk Tri-Band Router AC3200, it keeps my Roku streaming flawless because I had a dual-band router also by Netgear but the wifi signal was very slow and with a lot of buffering, especially on my Roky streaming. Spectrum technicians checked the internet signal intensity, and tweaked it a bit by reducing the signal because it was at 38.5 dBmv, but that didn’t help either. They told me that it could be the router. I also got a new cable modem from Spectrum, but that the problem with the intermittent internet continued and is still ongoing. Please help, do you know or does anyone know why this is happening? Thank you very much.

I found out my ps4 controller connected to the pc using a charger mess up my mouse, if I move L3 it messes it up. If I remove the charger and put it back in, then it fixes it as long as I don't move L3. Thanks for your help anyways

I had my wireless mouse connected to my dock and also my Bluetooth mouse was left powered on and was also connected causing my cursor to drift around. As soon as I turned off the Bluetooth mouse everything was fine

I had the same problem with my wireless mouse. I solved the problem by inserting the wireless keyboard/mouse receiver into a different USB port. Perhaps the issue is an motherboard IR mismatch.

Had an erratic mouse. Changed usb connect mouse to no effect. Performed the driver uninstall of the touch pad and so far it seems to be working again. We shall see. We shall see.
