How to Fix a Dripping Bathroom Sink Faucet Double Handle. This is a very simple and quick DIY fix, that can save you a pretty penny instead of calling a professional! #handyman #drippingfaucet #diy
Finally convinced my mom to let me try and fix her leaky sink using this video instead of having the plumbers replace the entire faucet. Worked like a charm!! Thank you! Saved me probably $300 😂😂
These are the types of videos that RU-vid needs to promote more of, cause helping each other with knowledge to make everyday life easier is priceless. Thank you for your help and knowledge. You are a true hero. 👍
Thank you for this! You explain everything in a calm detailed manner, and made me feel like I could handle this issue all by myself! Thank you also for the list of tools needed. I took a screenshot and am headed to my local hardware store this afternoon!
Thanks a ton Mick Foley! Like some of the comments say below, the other videos I watched before coming across your video they just say to replace the cartridge. Have a great day, I've always been a big fan of yours!😉
This is excellent. I've been looking for instructions to help me muddle through my drippy faucet for quite some time, and now I can finally stop looking :) I've got a delta repair kit on the way, which has seats, springs, grommits and cassettes. I'm hoping that changing the springs and seats alone will fix the problem, and if not I'll have the other parts handy -- not sure what to do with the grommits but perhaps you and your parrot have made a video for that so I'll cross that bridge / walk that plank when I come to it. Thanks again for being so chill, encouraging and thorough with your instruction and tips! I'd subscribe to the whole pirate ship if I could :P
I live in a pretty standardly-applianced apartment that’s kind of frustrating to get maintenance work on, and I’m so happy I found your channel. “Pirating” my minor maintenance repairs one step at a time 😂
Thank you for this video! I love that even if I can't see what you're doing straight on, I can see it in the mirror - nicely done! Do you put the flared side of the seat down or up when you go to install the new one? I wasn't sure if it mattered, and I couldn't quite tell when I watched the video.
Thank you pirate handyman you saved the day again. I couldn't get a screw out. You said try 2 screwdrivers and duck tape. Well the 2 screwdrivers worked but I would leave off the duck tape. It was just getting in the way. But thank you again for helping me. You are great and always make it sound easy.
Pirate handyman U are the man for 4 months leaky faucet utility bill out the roof finally got tired and wanted to do something about it and didn't have money to even think about a plumber. Watched several videos still not having an understanding. Came across your's and WALAH!!!! Thank you peace blessings and prosperity to U.
Great video, taught me all I needed to know. My biggest problem was finding the right seat and spring. I made 2 trips to Ace Hardware, but it was wrong both times. So I ended up at Lowe's. It was smooth sailing from there. My next project is unclogging my double-drain kitchen sink with disposal. Have any videos on that?
Aye, matey, and thanks for the kind words! Here are 3 videos that might help ye with yer sink issues: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-21Gl3ObLH6Q.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OVaLKdxC8tY.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BQxzPwtFzHA.html Here's to smooth sail'!
Yes, any old seat and spring doesn't work. I'm having trouble finding the right one also. My husband remembered we have an old tub faucet. Voila! Same parts. The video is great.
Thank you for going the extra step of showing the gasket and spring UNDER the cartridge!!! I replaced a hot water cartridge for my MIL and in a few months it started to leak again 🤦 . I bought a new cartridge at that has the gasket and spring with it. Even though the cartridge is a few months old, I will still change it out at the same time . Thanks again for this video!!!
I just watched your video and went step by step to fix my leaky sink. It began as a small drip then became a steady stream. I was hoping one of my male family members would fix it, but they never got around to it. I really feel like I accomplished something. Thank you for your guidance! 😃🥰
Thank you so much !!! Your video is the best at explaining this process. I got a new part, but I didn’t get the seat and spring because others didn’t tell me that the new part is separate from that piece, so thank you for explaining it very detailed. I’m a woman and was able to fix this myself and save some $$$!!!
This video was so helpful. I've always tried to do repairs myself, but was reluctant on this because I thought I'd have to replace a cartridge - and how could I do that without knowing the brand of faucet? So, I went to RU-vid and you showed me exactly what to do and gave clear instructions, including tips. Just finished and vóila, no more leaking faucet! Thank you!
Most excellent video. You are a gifted teacher with clear concise and detailed thorough instructions. Very grateful and much appreciation for you making this valuable video. It is gold to me. Thank you.
Hey great job!!!, you were thorough, very informative, direct to the point, no extra do this do that, I had a good idea how to fix from my Dad RIP, since I can't call him anymore for those how to fix-it advise, you were right on target, and now I can fix my dripping sink. THANK YOU PIRATE Arggg 🏴☠️☠️💪👍
Thanks so much "The Pirate Handyman" for all you do! I'm blessed to be not far :) Next time, i'll just come over if something comes up ;) Thanks again, all worked well as i followed your instructions and that saved me lots of coins ;) Thank you again, sir!!!
I went to Home Depot and told the guy that I need a washer for my leaking faucet. He told me I need a cartridge. I said no the Pirate say to get a washer...I watched his video on RU-vid. Got my washers and my facebasin faucet no longer drips. THANK YOU!!👍
I watched two other RU-vid videos before this one both had me replacing parts I tried what you did and showed us and it worked right away thanks for helping us all!
Hello! New to your channel and have subscribed 😊 I’ve watched quite a few videos on how to fix a leaky bathroom sink faucet, and yours was the one that gave me the confidence I needed. Went and picked up a pack of seats and springs tonight and plan on fixing the sink on Friday. I live in an apartment, so really I could just call maintenance but then you have to set up a time frame you need to be home, which is usually a hassle. Plus if it’s something inexpensive and I feel like I can do it, I like to do it myself as it gives me a nice feeling of accomplishment 😊 Will keep you posted on how it goes! Looking forward to watching more of your videos!
Good video. The only thing I might ad is while I have it apart I would replace the O-ring as well. Might as well replace it all while you're in there and some have a little flat washer, a smaller O-ring and a brass seat. The brass seat doesn't need to be replaced that often usually when replacing everything else doesn't work but hey, while you're there. Your call. Enjoyed the video. Keep up the good work.
Thank you. I am going to try to fix my bathroom faucet. Tomorrow I will go to Home Depot and look for the kit. Many widows on social security cannot afford to call a repairman or plumber.
I had a leaky faucet that looks almost the same as in this video, and replaced both seats and springs with your help. Now, the leak is gone. Thank you very much.
Ahoy!!! 🏴☠️Thank you for the video matey. Was driving me wife crazy and she was about to make me walk the plank if I didn't fix it right away. After Arrr-guing we weren't seeing aye to aye. I pulled out my Aye-phone and found you. Fixed the problem. Now everything is smooth sailing.
@@thepiratehandyman2225 I did it!! I remember buying a basin wrench a while back. I literally followed your video step by step, easy breezy! Thank you so much 😊
Yeah my seat needs to be replaced but I did get it to just drip for now. Stupid plumbing couldn't be anymore complicated so many small parts for one job 😂 🤦♂️ straight to the point good video
I know how to fix leaking faucet but has one that kept leaking even after replacing everything. The “treasure” (pardon the pun) in your video was getting all the water out before putting the spring and gasket back in. No more leak and didn’t have to buy anything. Thanks matte
I am back! I was unable to get to where I would see started dripping. Couldn’t move either valve inside the cabinet. Are the valve really corroded? Please reply?
Aye, it could corrosion on the valves. Try spraying a product like CLR on the shaft of each and let it sit over night. If that doesn't work, then try spraying the shafts with a lubricant like WD40. Let that sit a couple of hours, and repeat a few times. If that still doesn't work, you may have to call a professional. Let me know what happens with the above tasks.
Haha I hit subscribe as soon as you said "save some gold for your treasure chest" but it was also a very straight forward and helpful video which I appreciate!
