Thank you so much for this video. It worked on the first step. The fuse was blown so I replaced it with the spares I didn't even know came with it. Works great now.
Cool video. I found one of these for my son, charged the battery and only the wheel on the left spins. Sounds different when I spin them manually. And also only goes in high gear. Still drives him around the yard for a bit. I'll be checking it out further though.
The gearbox is likely worn out. My kids has the same issue. Flip it over and spin each back wheel both ways; if you can spin it freely its the gearbox thats broken. Ive found factory plastic replacement gearbox parts, but no metal gear upgrades for this model yamaha 700 12v (which sadly doesnt seem to be compatible with power wheels metal gear upgrades)
Great video, my son has this same one. At first reverse & low quit working. Couple days later only reverse worked and not every time. Battery fuse is good. Indicator lights would come on but no movement. I cleaned the foot pedal switch connections now the lights don’t come on at all. You think it’s the pedal or shifter? Any advice is appreciated. My 4 year old won’t quit harassing me about fixing it
also we live on the Olympic peninsula and he did leave it out in the rain a few times. There was a little corrosion on the foot pedal connections but not bad

Good videos. I need a 6 pin 'forward/reverse' rocker switch for an old PW Corvette. The pins are slanted to fit into the receptacle in the wiring harness. Mattel doesn't sell or support this switch anymore. Can I buy this switch from you or do you know where I can get this switch?
Hello, we have a boomerang three wheeler but if you push the foot pedal switch you can hear the back when trying to move forward but not enough power to accelerate the power wheel. Do you know what it could be?
Thanks for the info man. I have a jeep with 4 motors and the front left wheel goes in the opposite direction as the other 3 wheels. If i want to go forward, all 3 wheels spin forward, but the front left wheel spins backwards. Any help or suggestions? Thanks
I have the same four wheeler I tried to Hook up a 20v tool battery with a harness off Amazon worked for a few seconds and I blew a fuse somewhere I believe not sure if any fuses are on the power wheel it self for safety or not
I have a 4x4 pink Jeep that dose nothing . Well if you turn the steering wheel its light come on and it makes a slight motor sounds I'm not sure if it's wired wrong or what it could be
Great video. Thanks! So if you connect the battery to the motor directly and you get nothing, the motor is probably broken? I have a 6V BMW someone gave me? The charge on the battery reads just under 6V (5.2V). I may change e battery too. But that should at least get the motor to turn in my thinking.
Yes if you can directly connect the battery to the motor that motor should spin. Buy doing the direct connect you bypass foot controls and shifter. It sounds like your motor is the issue. You can buy the motor on line or contact the manufacture direct to make sure you get the right on. I usually buy direct from the manufacturer for replacement parts, except for battery or charger then I purchase them on eBay. Thanks for watching the video.

One more quick question, shouldn't the on/off light up if the battery is good? Wondering if there is something else wrong with the wiring. I am trying to find an alternative power source to connect the motor directly to. I did order another battery so we will see about that when it arrives.
Great video! I have a Jeep Wrangler. Battery is at 11.9 V. I replaced the pedal switch. Still not running. Motors in back seem okay if I rock the tires forward and back. I tried to make sure all wires were connected. My battery does not seem to have a fuse. It is just the standard 12 V Fisher Price silver battery. What should I try next? I have zero power. Could it be the reverse/forward switches or a bad connector piece to the battery? Can the battery be bad even if it is charged? Thanks a lot for your help!
You should have a fuse at some point if not in the battery then on a main wire leading from the Battery. It’s a safety feature to keep the young ones safe. I’d say your battery is good if you getting 11.9 volt reading on it. I’d definitely look for that fuse then look at replacing the shifter. On some of the higher end models they will have a mother board under the hood if that’s the case with yours and often times those will go bad. Not sure if yours has one or not. Thanks for the suggestions. Found out, it was the battery. I borrowed a friends and his worked. I have the typical silver Fishers Price 12 V battery. Any suggestions where the fuse would be? Would I need to cut the lid off? It is not visible. Trying to avoid paying 75 dollars on a new battery if possible.
They make batteries different some times the fuse is on the battery other times it’s on the main positive wire leading to the battery like under the seat maybe. It’s a safety feature. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for the video. I have this exact 1. I checked pedal and the forward and reverse lever. The lights so it’s fully charged so I think it can’t be the battery. I checked the fuses in the battery and nothing. Have any more ideas? Thanks
Can you please see if you can answer my question? I can't figure it out for nothing! I have the same excat 4 wheeler the forward wasn't working but the backwards was working I took the gear shift apart like you show on one of your videos and put it back together then the forward starting working and the backwards stopped. Any ideas what this could be??
I am only "guessing" when I'm replacing the switches. There's not a wiring diagram where I can see to check for proper voltage at the switch connectors or switch pins. Is there something you can post that shows which wire or pins are supposed to have voltage and when (IE: pedal pushed down or pedal up)? I like to confirm that apart is actually defective and not replace parts it hopes that it's the problem. Thanks!!
I have a 12 volt Yamaha 4 wheeler that the battery show full charge. It will not work at all. I checkered the petal switch, by pulling the wires and touching the yellow and red wires together and no movement. Removed the gear shift control and I don’t see anything unplugged. Can you help me figure out what’s wrong? The 4 wheeler is only 4 months old.

Hi great info! My sister gave me her broken ride on Corvette. The car turns on and it will not move. Another test, to bypass the battery I disconnected the battery and plugged it directly to the power outlet. The car moves really slow when there is no weight on it. When I put some weight it won’t move and I can hear the motor or electrical making a high pitched noise that I think it’s trying. I’m assuming it could be the motor. It sounds really weak. Any suggestions?

hello great video. i have a Monster Jam Grave digger & bought it a month ago so battery is good. but my nephew was riding it and suddenly it stopped working so we thought the battery was low but next day we try it and now it doesn’t work it doesn’t make no sound from the radio or motor. so it just stopped working. Sometimes the connection fittings are not good. Check the connection, also check the fuse in the battery to see if it's blown. Does it have a mother board? It would be under the hood.
I have a question. So I have a power wheel and the charger seems to be charging the battery only for a short time and then stops charging and then when I plug it into the power wheel it says that it is still dead and has little power. Would that be a battery issue?
I’m having a issue with this same model. The lights come on and battery is showing 12 volts on volt meter and the motors turn fine by hand. Do you think it would be the foot pedal?
Ok you seem to be the guy to ask. I have a power wheels dune buggy that ran great last year. It was out over winter. I replaced plunger/ pedal switch, battery, shifter switches, I still get 0 power. I checked all wires for any obvious breaks. Any other suggestions?
Where it was left out, you may have got moisture in the motor on the wheels, which could have caused corrosion, causing it not to have contact from your power source. Those motors have small contact brushes on the inside. I hope this helps and good luck.
The best way to test the motor/motors is to run two wires directly from your battery to the motor. This will bypass the shift switch and pedal. If your motor rotates then the issue has to be somewhere else.
Hello. I have 2 powerwheels where I double checked the batteries with a voltmeter and they are good. The powerwheels have been out in the rain by accident but they aren't moving. Can you help please?
After rain gets to it as you know rust begins. My guess is as good as yours as to witch part was effected. If I was in your shoes I’d get a direct power source to the motors see if they spin. If they do you have a issue in one of the other top areas pedal/ forward controls. Thanks for watching the video.
Great video I have the 700r Yamaha I replaced the pedal switch...but it's still not working when I touch the yellow and red wire it does nothing..but if I use a jump box on the wires it works..I dk what it is..thanks...
You may have received a faulty pedal switch. Those pedals are so mass produced they are cheap. If you are using a jump box and it's working, it sounds like the pedal switch is bad. Also check the fuse on the battery, it may have blown.
I've got the kawasaki version of these, have two and one quit on me. I have ruled out battery and pedal switch by putting g the pedal switch from the working one in it and still nothing. Not working at all but tires spin. Any help much appreciated
Can y’all please help? My son has a Powerwheels Landrover Defender. Battery is good, radio and horn works. Jumped the yellow and red wire at the pedal and I get nothing even when moving the shifter. If I directly apply power to the motors it works. What do y’all think? TIA!!!!!

I bought the purple XR-250 sport by power wheels maybe a week ago it’s been fine then last night she actually got on and started using it made me very happy then it died. I plugged it in the charger light went from red to green instantly I’m like that’s weird I let it charger over night and still nothing the lights will turn on I press the pedal does a little jump then that’s it. Popped open the fuse looked burnt so I replaced and did the same thing I put it back on the charger now. Maybe it’s the charger not too sure really. *Update I pulled out the new fuse and that one has a gap in the fuse now too.
Hello my son has a lamborghini uras 12v. But it has no power at all. I am not sure what's wrong. I plugged the charger in and it shows a green light but nothing happens.

I need help because I can’t figure out if it’s the wires or the battery, my daughter didn’t use her car for months nd it was outside during winter, the battery we kept inside, 2 days ago I cleaned up everything nd I charged the battery for 2 hours (Ik it’s usually for 14 hours or so) nd it was working fine till the very end when it wasn’t really going forward or in reverse, and the battery indicater was flickering on nd off showing full charge to empty, I kept switching the gears Md it would work for a little bit and then back to how it was, what do you think it would be ?
Next day I charged battery fully and checked the fuse it was fine, but when I put everything back together it was doing the same flickering showing full battery 🔋 to 🪫

I’d say the battery doesn’t hold a charge, or the charger is bad. Often times the charger will read a false green light not given the battery a full charge.
I would say it's probably the battery. You could be over charging it, that's common if it's overcharged. Does this model have a motherboard under the hood? Is it blowing while riding or while charging?
The fuses are tripping. It looks like we did overcharge the battery longer than it should have. Do I replace the fuses or get a new battery? Trying to get ahold of someone from huffy is hard as well lol
Young Buck I don’t see a motherboard. I just see all the wires. Fuses. And battery. I disconnected the wires and the lights work. But when I plug in the wire for the charger it completely kills the ride. The only noise I hear is when it struggles to turn on for a split second

So if your lights are coming on then your getting both good connection to your foot pedal as well from your battery. I had a similar situation happen recently. The problem was in the shifter. There is 4 screws take them out and pull the shifter out and make sure they are connected. If they are I’m 90% sure you have a bad shifter. Thanks for watching.
I’m having intermittent issues, replaced shifter and still same issues, raptor is in fast mode and dies under a minute or few feet. It works in slow mode but my son don’t like going slow he has the need for speed. It only dies in fast mode and I will switch to slow mode and give it a push the battery indicator lights up and than it’s good only in slow mode when I switch to fast same issues

i have one the lights work i hit the throttle and no go and the lights cut out bought new foot pedal idk need to get it fixed for the niece i know the motors good maybe the rain and her reefing on the shifter is my issue idk guess im going shopping again lol
The lower volt power wheels only have one motor so you would only get one wheel that moves. If it's a higher volt motor with motors on each wheel and one of the wheels isn't engaging of getting power I'd say first track the power wires leading to that wheel motor to make sure it's not a case of a bad wire or loose connection. If your wires check out to be good id pull the motor and test it directly to the batty using old wire. If it doesn't spin then you will need to replace the motor. You can find them motors really cheap on eBay or Amazon
I have the same exact one but the battery keep burning the fuse when my sons drives it and bumps into something didn’t happen before , replace the fuse 2 times a bump into something and the fuse was gone
I need help with a jonh deere gator hpx 4x4 I check every i could I put a multimeter at the end conectors to the wheel motor and it says 12v but onece I connected them to the actual motor all power goes off and i take out the motor and put it directly to a battery and it does work what the issue could it be ?
Hay Jerry, It's possible that one has burnt out. Something to keep in mind. A lot of power wheels only have one motor. Not sure the type that you have. Also the motors are connected to there power source via a cheep plastic connector. Might want to make sure you connections are all secure. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.

I have a Power Wheels 12 Volt Kawasaki ATV. We got a new battery for it, and it ran really well for a day, then it suddenly stopped working. The fuse on the battery blew, so we replaced the fuse and charged it. When I put the newly charged battery with new fuse on the power wheels and it immediately blew the fuse when the pedal is pressed. I replaced the fuses several times with the same result. What could be causing the fuse to blow immediately? The motor makes the normal sound when the wheels are rotated, so the motor sounds like it’s ok.
Did you figure it out ? I’m having trouble with mine as well. Bought it about a week ago and it died last night plugged it in the charger light went from red to green fast don’t know if the chargers the problem. I let it charger over night put it back in the headlights turned on then I pressed the pedal and moved a tad then everything just died. I checked the fused it was blown I replaced thinking the fuse was bad I tried pedal again and jilted that’s it checked fuse and it was blown put new fuse again and put it back on the charger and fuse blew again
