Would appreciate you enabling the TCP ports 44158 in both directions if you don't have Google Fibre. What is the tool we are working with? Thank you for your time.
I went into my router settings through the IP address. Accessed the firewall / gaming section. Was able to open the port in both direction for the device that way. We will see if it actually works for mine as its stuck on Relay after being up 24 hours from first receiving
For me, I had to call my ISP and ask them to make my IP Public facing. Once they did this (which took about 3 days), my miner was no longer Relayed and I am good to go :)
Hi and tnx for your video. I appreciate it. I have watched so many videos, BUT noone from you guys doesn't say what now I am going to. Although settings in the router have been made, port forwarding 44158 checked, our miner has been set up - and STILL relayed, it is because your ISP connection is going through IPv6 and it should transfer trough IPv4. This is a static connection. You should call your ISP and change your connection to IPv4. Miners need IPv4 static signal. This has solved my Relayed issue after one week of struggling and figuring it out. Thanks, bye.
If you are using spectrum then you need to change the IPv4 or 6 as they already have you set up with a static connection all you have to do is have them port forward to 44158 and use TCP only
@@mikes6853 sorry my friend but I didn't get your point. Maybe you're on clue of something but you must know that the miner is working trough the IPv4 protocol and in many cases the ISP provides only IPv6 to private users. IPv4 ist reserved for business. In Germany so far. You can do any setup you want with your router but if your ISP line is not adequate than outcome is - Relayed. My point is - ask for what you have. "Check the wires first".
You are correct. You need to assign a Static IP address as well. When in your router you need to go to "DHCP Reservation" and assign a static address using the MAC address and IP of your helium hotspot. The reason the instructions in this video may work for some people is that they already have a static IP while you may have a dynamic IP from your internet provider. Just follow the instruction i gave you above and you ll be fine.
'Relayed' doesn't necessarily mean less rewards. Lower 'earnings scale' doesn't necessarily mean less rewards. Having the book is great, reading between its lines is even better.
You sure about that? My rewards are way down after being relayed.. sad part is I've been researching it for a week and cannot get mine off of relayed status
@@famousmidnight I have 22 hotspots and most of them are relayed. The few that aren't don't mine more. 22 might not be enough to draw absolute conclusions but it's still a pretty good indication.
Nice video. Already subscribed you. One question: once fixed the port forwarding, reboot the miner required or nor? And If I reboot the miner, do I need to start the whole process from beginning ? eg: hotspot connection, syncing.... which took me 24 hours already. Thanks
My Bobcat was saying Relayed yesterday, but thankfully today it’s done saying that! It still hasn’t earned anything other than being a witness, but it also says that it has 7 witnesses now. I’m really glad I finally hooked it up.
Month= 52 hnt WHILE BEING RELAYED.....😚🤣😭😭😭. Y'all had is so friggin sweet back in the day. There's a hotspot over by me, ONE mner and dude has $97,000 earnings in his wallet. I'm assuming he has been mining for the longest time and has just let it build up and build up-----but man that's from one miner!! I'm struggling to make .5 hnt a day🤯
Any idea on which "Service Type" to select for Port Forwarding? I have TCP and UDP selected for Protocol. My options are DNP, Gopher, FTP, HTTP, NNTP, POP3, PPTP, SMTP, SOCK, and TELNET. Thank you
Sometimes being relayed is a good thing. I have a few perform better in relayed and my buddy also confirmed his did better In relayed status as well. So most important thing is location and height really
@@jimmyispromoVery interesting! I guess i have to just keep this one on relayed cuz I have no choice. Its on a second story house by a window in suburbs with tons of hotspots in the los angeles area, only 1 hotspot in my hex and tons outside of it so reward scale should be decent.
My router shows a red light on any port I plug in my Bobcat300, it is also currently "Relayed". Why would the light be red? Are these two related? if I update with a new port, will it fix the red light? Thanks for any help.
Hi, is it possible that when I get a change and I don't get rewards? I haven't removed the relayed, is that a problem. But I tried in the settings like in the clip on the router and the relayed field didn't disappear, what's the problem? Thanks.
Do not, I repeat, do not listen to this guy. I did exactly what he told us to do and my miner went from ‘Relayed’ to ‘Needs attention’, great fucking thanks! 👍🏻
Thanks for the video. I am getting a "port conflict" error message when I tried to port forward. Also, did you restart your miner when you changed the ports? I am running mine off a Powerlink through ethernet connection -- figured that the connection would be more stable than wifi. I have Spectrum as my service provider.
I also am using spectrum. I logged into the router and my option for port forwarding under the Firewall tab says “Virtual servers/Port Fowarding.” I added one and just put my routers IP address in the “Private IP Address” box (also filled in the other boxes). Just want to make sure I did it correctly?
@@nachomax1639 I ended up putting the Bobcat’s IP address (Found on the Helium app under the diagnostic tab) and not my router’s IP address in the port forwarding. Seems to be working now.
if im about to get a helum miner and the hotpot It would be in is relayed will that cut into my profits? the hotspot says its 1.2dbi and 0m over the ground
HELP PLEASE! Miner: Senscap ISP: Rogers Ignite I've opened the 44158 Port. However, Sensecap says I am NOT in RELAY status. However, 36 hours later Helium Explorer says I am still "RELAYING"!? How do i fix this?
My pancake miner is not working now the lights on the front went out all the other lights are working. It was working perfect then the lights went out on front and I can’t get it to work now. Anyone know how to fix it ?
I moved mine to another house an hour away and didn’t bother to change location and it’s till earning the same. Does it matter if we change location or not? It’s costs about $10 to do so
I'm having a real problem trying to get 2 bobcat miners out of relay in south texas... at&t is provider... been in relay for past 3 weeks... called at&t to make sure ports were open , but still in relay.. NEED HELP.
Really easy if you have Google fiber. My router's settings (Netgear) do not have the port forwarding section that I've seen on other tutorials on youtube. My router's page is literally missing certain menu options for some reason
I port forwarded, but I think my symmetric NAT type is still complicating things? I saw in the FAQ’s that it needed to be “none,” any idea how to change that NAT type from symmetric to none? Thanks!
Both if mine say offline and not syncing after working for over a month straight. Also it's 2 different ones in different locations which really makes no sense. Any advice?
I woke up one day and got a random relay issue 3 days ago The weird thing is that I'm connected inbound and outbound it's it's just not making any witnesses :/
I’m having a really bad relayed problem ,can someone help me fix it , I try going to the setting and do everything he said , but when I go to add port I don’t see my device I see different ones but I don’t see my bob cat
Hey , did you work out your problem, the device will be named weirdly I think, it will not say bobcat, I think it is some weird collection of characters..
@@robertbertora-kamohatech8597 yes I was able to get my devices fully synced , the only problem I have right now , is that one of my bobcats is not getting any witnesses when there are more near me . I been having this issue for the past 5 days , ever since the update it’s been acting weird
@@Threeowlz thanks for the reply. I just got mine 2 days ago so still not synced... did you have to do something to upgrade or was it automatic? was it a all device upgrade? perhaps those near you did not upgrade because on different device models? etc.. quite a few things could be the cause to that one. unfortunately knowing that something might be wrong with their devices does not really help you.. as you would not be able to speak to them to get it sorted their side..
@@robertbertora-kamohatech8597 for my miners to synced it took almost 14 days , so hopefully you won’t have to wait that long, yeah I’m not sure what’s going on, I sure to get witnesses now I’m not getting any so I hope things get better
Hey i am using Rogers ignite wifi i dont have the same options as yours but i still try to add forwarding but it still say’s relayed. Would u be able to help me ?
Might me both. It depends if it has its own ip adres (not sure) there are more videos explaining how to do it. My miner says it is relayed while when i do a scan everything is working 😂
I did port forwarding at my home router and relayed status vanished after a few (2-3) days. Be aware that if you reboot your home router, the IP address of your miner may change and in that case you need to amend your port forwarding settings.
My helium hotspot has not earned nothing in 4 to 5 months every since they introduced some type of HIP I've contacted them who made the minor is it someone who reach out to me no one has do you know who I contact about that
Jimmy what would cause a open port 44158 to close? My hotspot was working now it went offline and the port closed? It's connected to Wifi good connection, if it's a firewall is it the firewall on my pc or the router?
Quick question. I tried switching my bobcat from Ethernet to WiFi, but I didn’t love the connection. So then I switched back to my old Ethernet setup, but now I’m relayed. All my ports are opened properly. What can I do to correct this?
Completed the Port Forwarding with Modem Router from Cox, they walked me through it. Turned off firewall, still not fixed. Put in a ASUS RT1750 Router and turned off that firewall and port forward it in the router, still not fixed. I will pay someone if they can show me what to do.
